In today's video we take you on a trip to London to experience the Titanic Exhibition, this travelling exhibition is currently located close to Canada Water Tube Station and near Southwark Park in the heart of London! THIS IS NOW IN NEW YORK ON 6TH Avenue.
The exhibition takes you on a tour of the legendary cruise liner and tells you the tale from its early conception all the way through its fateful demise.
The Titanic is one of 3 ships commissioned by White Star Line back in the early 1900's, the Olympic, Titanic and Britannica. The Titanic and Olympic being nearly identical in layout and furnishings.
As many people will know the Titanic had a short lifespan, setting sail from Southampton on it's maiden voyage on April 10th 1912 and unfortunately sinking in the middle of the Northern Atlantic Ocean April 15th 1912, this is one of the most famous nautical stories in history and as you'll know had a major motion picture based on it.
The exhibition itself contains a number of stories relating to passengers onboard the Titanic during that sailing as well as over 200 artefacts related to the cruise liner, you'll also be able to see full size replicas of areas onboard the ship to give you an idea of what it would have been like during the sailing, we then hear stories from passengers that survived as well as the experiences of the crew onboard and what led to the demise of the ship as well as the loss of over 1500 lives. This is similar to the Artefact Exhibition located in Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel.
You will also see how this compares to many modern ships nowadays and it was a good insight for us having recently sailed on the Disney Cruise Line - Magic, you can watch that series here -
The audio guide included in the experience is a fantastic insight giving many very detailed accounts and explanations of what it is you see on display. This audio guide is typically on your mobile phone free of charge so bring along your own headphones otherwise you're able to rent one for £3 per guide.
    Enjoy!

Interesting fact: Even if they would have had more lifeboats, they would not have been able to put them all in water in time, cause the ship sank so fast.

@@albie12345 It still wasn't enough time to get down additional boats. It's literally math and there's a documentary about it by the scientists that found it originally and researched it for decades.

What a wonderful video, thank you! I'm from Liverpool, lots of places here connected to the ship that I've visited, but would love to go to London to see this. Thanks again!

I would go back and remake the ship as they already have all the plans of it and the pictures of what it all looks like. It would make so much money for tourist and actually take the same voyage of the journey and stop right where the original ship sunk. If i was a billionaire i would do it

I loved the video man. If you want to know more about Titanic get the new book On a Sea of Glass The Life and Loss of The RMS Titanic. It's as of now the definitive source of the whole subject.

James Cameron has since made corrections regarding the film so the film, while accurate for what we knew, is no longer accurate with how things went down, at least not entirely. The breakup is more down the middle now.

not sure why the exhibition is in London, it had nothing to do with London. Built in Belfast, Registered in Liverpool and Sailed from Southampton. called at Cherbourg and last stop was Cobh (prevs.Queenstown, south of Cork, Eire).

I've always been haunted by the Titanic.
3rd class people risked all they had, for a chance at a new life, yet doomed the day they bought their ticket on a boat that God couldn't sink. How could this grand illusion have possibly gone in any other way.
I was not there when history wrote itself, but irony is never lost on God, which I guess is true.
Other people's lives are so fleeting, while my own seems so long.
