I certainly agree with the 308 gti fantastic car for the money. It's probably one of my favourite all round cars. I feel you have overlooked the f13 BMW M6. I bought one for 23.5k with a full years manufacturer's warranty last December. Had it mapped with decats. It really is a different gravy, 35mpg on a run, 400 miles to a tank on a long journey and 740bhp on tap, it really is a license looser at the push of a button. Almost a jackle and Hyde character. That being said, the Alfa is utterly gorgeous and at the time, was about 6k out my price range. Merry Christmas regardless, all the best for 2025.
@@markcompton6750 I got mine done and the dyno showed that it produces 370hp and 550Nm as stock which is better than quoted but then the car wizard easily and safely pushed it to 420hp and 672Nm. Im very very happy with it :)
My old boss had a Stelvio Q, a lot of fun. You can chirp the wheels and crab step in 5th gear, nonstop pull available, wonderful sounding exhaust modes, and you can still fill it with luggage. He only keeps cars 2yrs so we never got to see the reliability play out, but I've seen him have way more individual issues over the years with an Infin FX-45, two Jeep Srt8s, a E350, a tesla p100d, and a gt63 amg. The only issue it had was one dead battery, and the fuse/battery covers liked to fly around under the hood on their own.
Alfa reliability (or lack of) is a myth now, they’re about as good as any modern car, if they’re look after they’ll be fine, engines tend to be sound in them, only the odd electrical problems happen just cus it’s Italian
Just love the Lotus Emira's looks, i've not driven one yet, but hope to get a test drive soon as I'm thinking about buying one. Happy Christmas everyone.
Can only agree entirely with this list! The Giulia sounds a little disappointing but otherwise is just brilliant so it just needed a better dealer network to be really successful I think. The Emira was just too hard work to be a daily otherwise it'd be a top contender for my next one still. The RS4 and M3 are cars I'd love to have a go in too, although not sure I'd daily something that old but I'd love one as a 2nd car (although the Emira is still my top 2nd car choice).
Golf r gets stolen a lot in the uk. BMW m3 is too much unless its got like 120k mileage so as soon as you buy it most likely its gonna be a dodgy one especially having 4 previous owners on it. Yeh I think id rather get a manual golf gti with 40k on it and 2 previous owners for 18k than any of these
As the owner of the 308 in the video, I know a 7.5 Golf R can't pull away in a straight line (except off the line, obviously!) and won't get close in corners, so compared to expectations I'd say JB is 100% correct in this case. The problem is weight - 300hp is great, but at 1550kg you've only got 193hp/tonne, whereas the Pug has 224hp/tonne or a Civic FK8 has 231hp/tonne. Even an 8.5 R "only" has 218hp/tonne. Basically, the R isn't slow but it has a reputation as a step up from most hot hatches, but in reality it just isn't. Still a great all-rounder, but not that special really, hence after driving pretty much all the hot hatches, I bought the 308. Of course, the R is tunable, so if you're planning to do that then it changes things! That can turn it into a monster, although doesn't make it fun still, but some people care about fast more than fun, in which case it's good for them.

Kia Stinger GT's are so underrated.
They are great cars for the money 100%
They remap well too.
If it had a bmw or Mercedes badge people would glizzy the hell out of it

You would think the i8 is a great idea but try using those doors at a UK car park
JB you have mastered the art if an involving but quick summary.

Mate used to watch your videos when you had that polo i also had a polo at that time 07 plate u thought about doing videos for mods like before
Great honest personal review my age puts 911 on top for me but I hear every thing you say bro
I loved the Turbo, it’s right in my favourite era too, but it was just the tiptronic that I’d prefer not to have!
Problem with the latest hot hatches is there are seriously quick but yet one says the Golf R is too slow. Go to a track and earn your flowers peeps

E92 M3 yes pls. My E92 335i however is scratching the itch for now.
Can you review the new MK4.5 Track pack ST Focus please.
Jaguar F type, i think you forgot it
Kia stinger gt isn't 4 wheel drive ??? How is it rwd ?
What happened to 4c dream?
What you save buying those cars cheap you’ll soon spend on maintenance.
In the netherlands still waaaaaay to expensive, only the golf R is okay
The m3 is still expensive, really want the e92
Also Mk1 Porsche Panamera turbo s
Stelvio QV for 26K lol i can tell you it has 300+ K miles or there is something really wrong with that car…
0:45....easy to control
No. 5 is marked as stolen apparently
Surprise surprise
An Alfa 😂
Haha I’m nothing if not consistent 😅

BMW = Lives with parents
Hätte eig mit dem m850i erwartet
In what sense has the Emira depreciated? The video should be titled "some cars I like".
I had a golf r with dsg it's a good daily but I wouldn't want a dsg manual would suit the car more
Yeah tbf I drove the DSG which is a great gearbox, probably would have been more fun with a manual 🤙🏽
I hate the i8
Golf r too slow to be a boy racer car?😂

Most of those cars on the list weren’t really insane performances
