I had the same mower and it was nothing but trouble from day one. I don't care for Kohler engines, something is always wrong with them. I gave it away and bought a new Toro with a Briggs engine and it's a BEAST! Another great video T-Bone.
Every Toro guaranteed to start that use to come in was a no start problem lol 😂. Good job 👍

The 10/20/30 rule ten for the coil 20 for the points 30 for the plugs now days they don’t have points in the 60s early 70s they did I have left my mower in the rain and never got water in it great videos

Have u ever had to totally rewire a riding mower from scratch. Including. Safety switches and the whole 91/2 yards. Electrical is my weak suite. I dont/ can't understand how all the safety switches work in conjunction with everything else. Brilliant video mate

I bought a decent personal pace with a kohler. The coil is mounted more towards muffler. No spark. 2 extra coils. I took resistor off end of wire. Had the tiniest spark. Watched your video looked at plastic shroud hole in it for plug wire. The guy installed coil wrong side up. Turned it over has a good hot spark. I think originally the coil came loose was rubbing flywheel the guy put new coils on wrong side up. Is where I bought it. Should be a $200 -250 mower cleaned up serviced. ( carburetor needs cleaning )

I don't understand the water in the tank unless someone poured it in. Happened to my daughter's tractor. She left it outside one night and someone poured water in the oil filling the crankcase Fortunately I checked the oil before she started it.

Hi T-bone - Great video! I have a Toro Recycler with a Kohler XT675. It used to start and run until hot, thinking the coil was bad, I ordered a new coil and installed it. Now it will not start at all unless I use some starter fluid, but then only runs for a second or two. I even tried re-installing the old coil, but the problem is the same as with the new coil. As best as I can tell I have the coil spacing correct. The fact it does run for a few seconds seems to indicate it is getting a spark. Any ideas? Thanks!
Runs and dies isn't coil. It's a fuel issue, most likely carburetor
Thanks for the quick reply! What is weird is that with the old coil I used the mower three different times, once it had cooled off. The only thing I changed was the coil. It has the same gas, spark plug and carb, as when it ran this weekend until it got hot. But I will check the fuel system, like you suggested. Thanks again!

yes
If it ain't firing it isn't the carburetor. It is more likely to be the flywheel magnet is rusty Along with the coil surface. The carburator is definitely not the reason there is no spark. So I don't know why he would say it" it's not firing so I guess y'all going to get to see a carburetor rebuild. " Like the carburetor is why it is not firing.

When u get a rider in with no start no crank what's the first thing u do and check. Do u have a certain way you diagnose equipment?? If yes what is it?? 😆🤣😂😹😆lol
Step one is remove the air cleaner and give it a shot of brake cleaner to see if it fires off. That tells me if it has a fuel issue or fire issue
