The zip baggie idea is a great idea. As for the writing pad, I can't live without my journals to keep track of things or to scribble notes in. I love the colorfully decorative 8.25" x 6.5" journals by TopFlight. I really loved your embellishment ideas! Thanks for a great video! 🙂
What kind of syringe do you use? Do the syringes come with tips? Do you throw the syringe away afterwards, or do the tips keep it from drying out? How long does it stay moist with a tip? Where do you buy the syringes with tips?
I don't know about phoenixphire, but I use 10ml oral dosage syringes with a cap. You can get multipacks for cheap, like this one: www.amazon.com/Pack-10ml-Medication-Syringes-Needle/dp/B01HDXZR5E/ As long as you get all the air out of it (push the plunger until nothing but E6000 is left inside) and put the cap on, it should keep just as well as it does in its original tube. I also recommend keeping it out of direct light (in a drawer or box). I don't know for sure that E6000 is UV sensitive, but the nature of its tube suggests it might be, as many adhesives are.
@@yolandaholly9848 most likely a 3cc syringe will do the trick, and yes they come with covers for the top. Just make sure you clean the tip with alcohol before applying the cover. You can get syringes at animal feed store(not a Petco or PetSmart) if you have on near you👍.
I am planning on using E6000 for a project, but after reading about it's toxicity, I bought a 1/2 face respirator mask with an appropriate filter (3M 6001 organic vapor) and plan on using in my garage with an open door. If you're smelling that bad smell, you're exposed to the vapor. If after use you feel a headache, nausea, dizziness, confusion or blurred vision, you don't have adequate ventilation. If you're doing regular, daily crafting with this stuff, consider using a different, less toxic glue. ESPECIALLY if you have any respiratory issues.
you do not judge toxicity by whether you can smell it ... there are fumes that offgas into your skin, your lungs and thereby your organs ... read the label and pay attention accordingly; work outside as much as possible or at least open the windows. I can feel the toxicity on my tongue, even fumes from so called safe glues. Very important, its a silent toxic in many cases, no signs.
I enjoyed your ideas in your video. The only problem is, I had to watch it a few times because I was so distracted because I couldn't take my eyes off of your hugh gorgeous ring! LOL. Would love to see that up close & know where you purchased it from or who designed it. Thanks
If you let the glue set for about an hour, you can return with tweezers and just pluck off the escaped glue from the filigree. If you try to wipe it off, it makes a big mess.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I feel like an idiot I told myself i wish there was a way to make it like a pastry tool, I had the idea but why didn't I think of a zip lock bag... Thank so much!!
Oh thank you so so much for this video!!!! E6000 and I have a love/hate relationship. Btw- that’s exactly what I do for art!! The embellishments. I always layer with filigree as my base. Guess I’m not so original after all. Lol
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I order all your pretty stuff and have tried but failed using e6000 glue in bond 2 metal pieces. It's too stretchy and comes apart after curing all night. Maybe the pastry bag tip will work for me!
I wish the sound was more clear. I like the glue in a bag idea. Those coated clips can be bought at the Dollar Tree, I get them there, and it’s a pk of 4 or 6.
If you will be washing the fabric in a washing machine or drying the item in a dryer, E6000 will cease to hold. It works best if the fabric will remain dry.
nybsbfan18 walmart also sells these little jewelry bags in 3 or 4 sizes (all in wads of 100 or more) for a few dollars - really, I think I pay less than $3 for them and after buying 3 different sizes to store and sell many goods, I still have tons of them.
Tip to anyone who might be using this for costuming - This stuff works great, but do not use it on any kind of foam. It will eat straight through it like acid. However, the comments section here did answer my question about being able to use this on fabric. Thank you.
That's a great tip but, my problem is that once I close the tube of glue not matter what I do it dries out. I even seal it with Saran Wrap, and when I ready to use it again is dry. I have to use an ice pick to dig out all the dry glue from the top.
That's the only tip on the E6000 glue. I watched the whole video thinking there'd be more tips, but nope. "Tip" in the title sure is appropriately singular. :P
Hi. The ziploc-bag tip is SUPERB... This is the major problem with this slue - it dries very quickly. Also I would like to ask this, how do you avoid the "hairs" or "spaggettis" that stretch out from the glue when you pull your glue applicator away from the work area ? Thanks!!
pakpukik You can pull those strands away after they dry for a few minutes. I tend to make a bigger mess when I try to remove them while they are still fresh.
Thank you so much for making a video that finally told me what glue to use. I currently have plans to make one of my sisters a special pendant using a very similar pendant to the one you have in this clip at 6:05 at the very top of the video clip. I intend to glue a large red gem stone to it because the pendant doesn't have prongs to hold it down. Would you suggest using the E-6000 to do?
I know this video is older , I don't care :-) I want to thank u for posting this I am a first time user of this glue and your video was so cool and helpful . So glad I clicked on it .
Hello! Sorry to take so long to answer you. Yes you can use E6000 glue in a variety of ways. If the wire has enough surface mass, you can glue stones to it.
I've never had any luck using this glue. It's runny, goopy, and takes forever to dry & cure. I came here to find out if I've been doing it wrong & I haven't as far as I can tell so i can't figure why this glue gets such high marks among crafters.
You just have to be extremely quick with it, so it doesn’t get goopy. It gets such high marks because it’s practically indestructible-once you glue something with it, it stays. Very few other glues do that.
That was sooooooooooo cute how you stacked the silver pieces on top of each other. I had a question about E6000. When I went on ebay to buy it there are all different types of this glue. I don't mean sizes but kinds. Some say permanent bond, industrial strength. They all say for jewelry. How do I know which one to get? There is even one in a tan/gold tube. I will be making resin jewelry & glueing on the bales? Coud I even use this glue on a resin plaque to attach chains to hang on a wall?
Cerise Karpinski Sorry to take so long to answer. In my experience, the glue holds very well in all jewelry making tasks. I don't know about hanging something on wall.
If you leave the project in another room to dry for a day before you wear it you should be fine. I have been using it for more than 25 years and I am very healthy.
Hi Sue, Love the idea of the plastic bag for E6000 - how do you stop the flow between crafts, so I don't have to keep throwing out unused glue? Also, I heard that googone makes great cleanup of E6000 around your jewelry. How would I clean up the excess glue so it doesn't look all glue-y at the joint? (i.e. Filigree ring with steampunk items like watch movements, glued to the top of the shank.) The glue will come thru the filigree, toward the finger, how to clean excess?
I bought the e6000 glue specified for jewelry at Michaels and it came with 5 precision tips and a cap to screw the tips onto. But I was wondering why it didn't come with a regular cap... How do I seal my glue?
I like the product and have only one complaint. It's been 3 days, the gemstone is secure and dry but I can still smell the glue. Not a pleasant smell hanging on the necklace around my neck.

Do you have any tips on how to get the smell out of the object that you glued on. I am making some necklaces and matching rings for the little kids at church. I was strongly suggested by another crafter to use the e6000 glue in which they told me it was odorless. I got the glue and found that it did have a strong odor even on my jewelry one can smell it. I wouldn't want any of the kids to have symptoms from smelling the odor. I have read that the odor last for a week, some for days upon days and some says that the odor never leaves. Would you happen to know of anyway how I can get the odor out of the jewelry after it sets for a week with out ruining the jewelry itself. Your response would be greatly appreciated.
+Liz Gross I found that the order goes away after a couple of days. You might like Aleene's Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive for this project. It can be found at Walmart and it works really well also. There isn't as strong of an order with that one.
I hope you can help me. I'm at the end of my proverbial rope. I make kaleidoscopes out of my own photos and I have been using E6000 glue to secure them (printed on photo paper) to 1 in. glass cabochons. I have been having about a 50% success rate. My problem is that E6000 gets bubbles in it. I've tried waiting two minutes to mate the surfaces, I've tried mating them immediately, I've tried sealing the photo in clear packing tape (peeled right off), waiting until the bubbles appear then pressing down on the glass to get rid of them (more form later), nothing seems to work most of the time but when it does, they look wonderful, clear and bright. I'd use something like diamond glaze but I want the pendants to be waterproof or very resistant at the least as accidents do happen. I've considered using uv epoxy and have tried it but that seems worse. At least with the E6000 i can remove the cabochon and retry it. With the uv glue it's almost impossible. The bubbles are preventing me from getting out a product people have been asking me for. Can you help me?
Debbie Austin Sorry to take so long to answer you. I just now saw this message. You should use a sealant instead for your images. Multi-Purpose Sealer Non-Toxic 2 OZ Size A30Z is a product we offer on the website for this type of project.
It's alright. I began using Preserve it on the front images which creates enough of a barrier between the ink and the glue but I might look into your sealer anyway. I often use preserve it on the paper backing as well because i use the E6000 to fix the cabochon to the bezel and I have gotten some silvering if I use more than a dot of the stuff. I did try a test pendant using spray varnish on the backing and so far so good. It's all trial and error. I suppose that's the learning curve. Maybe your sealer will work better. Thanks!
I always use less than what I think I will need. If some of the glue leaks out, don't touch it. Wait for about two hours and go back with tweezers and or a needle tool. You can pick and pull the excess glue away without leaving a mess.
Hi please could say how long does it take for the glue to set. i have glued a cloth patch onto a biker vest. i left it with heavy weight on top of it so it would have pressure and make good contact. i left it like this for 12 hours and i could still peel the patch up so i have placed weight back on it.
Sometimes I get scared after using this glue. I always have the windows open, vent blowing the smell and a vent mask... but I can still smell it! I am afraid of it causing cancer to me or illness for when I start having children. Advice? thanks :)
I fell in love with a ring on Amazon. Looks like some reviewers have had problems with the stone popping out. Pretty sure stone is really hard plastic as this is a costume jewelry piece. Can I use this on plastic to metal ? Thanks
Also I was looking for a glue I could use to bond 24k gold ring to another 24k gold ring but have had no luck especially since I wear it everyday, 27/7. Is there such a product? I don't want it soldered at this point due to the cost & waiting time.
Hi Susan. Thanks for the demo. I've heard so much about this glue and found a great price for the almost 4 oz tube over at Amazon so I got one. Haven't opened my tube up yet but, came to TH-cam to learn about usage. Good to know you have to work fast because it dries quickly. And, good tip you got on the plastic bag. I'm assuming that the glue in the plastic bag is just for a single application and not something that will stay in the plastic bag for any length of time right? Or can it and still stay soft. I hate waste.
hi i was just wondering If I can use E6000 to glue metal to leather? I have a belt and I wanted to glue the studs on but I'm not sure if they will adhere well
8 minutes = 8000000 ideas 😍😘 thanks so much, my search was about what is the best glue to use with old & vintage jewelry 👍🏼 you are brilliant
Loved the idea of putting it in a small baggie and using it like a pastry bag!
The zip baggie idea is a great idea. As for the writing pad, I can't live without my journals to keep track of things or to scribble notes in. I love the colorfully decorative 8.25" x 6.5" journals by TopFlight. I really loved your embellishment ideas! Thanks for a great video! 🙂
i use a syringe with my glue..its neater then using the ziploc bag and some come with tips to reseal so your glue dont dry out
Thats genius!!!! Something so simple makes you feel so stupid for never thinking of it. Lol.
What kind of syringe do you use? Do the syringes come with tips? Do you throw the syringe away afterwards, or do the tips keep it from drying out? How long does it stay moist with a tip? Where do you buy the syringes with tips?

The pastry bag is a brilliant trick! Thanks for that tip!
The bag extruder trick is brilliant!
Your tip with the plastic bag and putting down a thin bead is exactly what I was looking for thank you very much.
Excellent tip regarding the "pastry bag" idea. Gonna use it for certain!
Im so glad I watched this before using my new e6000 glue!

Thank you so much for the tip with the bag! I don't have any syringes so this is just the info I was needing!!! Merry Christmas!!!
I love your advice to prepare a pad nearby so that you can focus on your work 😘
Very helpful information, thanks. You are a good teacher.
That tip of using a plastic bag to dispense the glue makes me very happy. I will try it!
So glad I saw your ziploc bag idea before starting to use the e6000 i just bought! genius! thanks!
Thank you Susan, awesome video and thank you Kathy for the tip on the glue bag! Love the purse idea and Love the ring!

hope you haven't heard of radon. May want to permanently wear a gas mask.
Thanks, Susan for sharing. E6000 has been difficult for me to work with. I am going to try your bag trick.

I enjoyed your ideas in your video. The only problem is, I had to watch it a few times because I was so distracted because I couldn't take my eyes off of your hugh gorgeous ring! LOL. Would love to see that up close & know where you purchased it from or who designed it. Thanks
Thank you. It is just a fun ring I bought a few years ago at Stein Mart.
Very elegant lady and great tip in using a plastic bag to apply the glue!
I started watching this video for tips on using E6000 glue, but got distracted by your beautiful ring!

Love the video lots of great tips. Good idea with the plastic bag but it's only going to add to the landfill every time you toss the plastic bag away,
You mention having a note pad at hand for notes. What I do, since it's always close to where im working, is set my cell phone on record.
I really like E6000. I use it in my art work and jewelry making. Thank you GOR the tip. You are lovely
Susan, this video is fantastic. I learned a lot. Thank you!!!! I'm going to tweet a link to the video.
Thank you for the tip. I hope you could give us a tip on how to identify an authentic E6000 glue.

Most relaxing voice ever.
Nice tip on the zip lock bags!
That's the only tip on the E6000 glue. I watched the whole video thinking there'd be more tips, but nope. "Tip" in the title sure is appropriately singular. :P
Omg using the plastic bag like that is brilliant!!
E6000 is self leveling so it dries flat. If you need to have depth or dimension use Goop.
I tend to make a bigger mess when I try to remove them while they are still fresh.
pakpukik k
What is "quickly" ? It takes 10 minutes of holding it in place perfectly to even begin to dry
Thank you for the great tips! ❤️🌸

Glitzing up a dress for a one off occasion, is the glue easily removed from fabric afterwards.
Wow, this video and the tips are wonderful. Thank you for sharing them with us!
You are very beautiful and classy by the way :)

Should work great, I used it for polished metal to plastic with great results
Nice video but apart from the tip in the start didn't see any other tips about how to use the glue...
Yeah, I use a chemical mask and have a heavy duty chemical filter running or use the E6000 outside.
I'm so glad the video helped you!

+Tori Bernal You can just put a piece of tape over the tips to keep the air out until you need more.
Ok thank you!!
Great idea!!!! Never thought of using a piece of tape. Enjoyed your video!
I like the product and have only one complaint. It's been 3 days, the gemstone is secure and dry but I can still smell the glue. Not a pleasant smell hanging on the necklace around my neck.
Can you use this adhesive to glue stones directly to wire? Specifically on the edges of the stone directly to the wire?
Really really great tip!! Thank you!!!

this is amazing, thank you so much for sharing it. would you mind me asking where do you buy the stampings? (not sure if i spelled it right) thank you.
What great tips! Thank you.
Can this glue be used to attach a broken key. Just we could make a copy. how long do it take to set hard?
thanks for the tips have you ever used e 6000 on felt have you got any tips for glueing on felt
So one tip about the glue and the rest was about the stamping buttons on things !
Absolutely brilliant thank you!!
You should be fine with just using a mask. I used the glue for many years with just an exhaust fan. It is smelly but a fan will also help.
+cableaddict what type of mask then?
Thanks cable that information was useful
Hi ! Can it be used to stick something on glass ? And does it leave any residue ?
This is brilliant! Thank you so much!

It should work just fine with hard plastic to metal. If the stone has foil on the back it may be removed by the glue.
Susan Street no foil...thanks
Also I was looking for a glue I could use to bond 24k gold ring to another 24k gold ring but have had no luck especially since I wear it everyday, 27/7. Is there such a product? I don't want it soldered at this point due to the cost & waiting time.
Check with a jeweler in your area. I don't know of anything other than soldering or perhaps a ring guard that might hold the two rings together.
They sell the clips in a 10 pack at the Dollar Tree!!
I just put about as much as I will need for the next hour in the bag.
Thanks for getting back to me with that info. Looking forward to making some earrings. All the best.
Use a washcloth, warm water and dish soap.

hi i was just wondering If I can use E6000 to glue metal to leather? I have a belt and I wanted to glue the studs on but I'm not sure if they will adhere well
Yes. It glues almost any objects together. I have used it to glue metal to leather and as long as it stays dry it will work great.
