When I was taught journalism as extracurricular in high school I remember my teacher tell us to keep our opinion out of it and avoid phrases like "I think" "I wonder" "I assume". She said "if they want your opinion, they will ask u as a friend, not in the reports you write".
What drives me nuts is the recent trend of networks having headlines about what their own reporters said. No, no, no, that's not how news works.

The final argument before closing from the prosecution to the jury should be: "Do you really believe, that Donald J. Trump, a man who's known to be obsessively involved into even the smallest details of his "deals", would pay out that amount of money to Michael Cohen without wanting to know to the last dime what exactly he's paying Cohen for?"
I saw a clip of him saying it wasn't out of champaign money. When asked if you knew about payoff? I didn't but I did later and paid it. So he wasn't aware of payoff or anything and paid 130k? In 2 65k checks. Why not 130k on 1 check? And this billionaire can't scrape together cash to pay her?
Point with that argument is that you then have to prove that DJT Senior is that much involved in his dealings. What is helping is the fact that even while he was already in the White House he never appointed anyone else to take care of his personal financials. He was to sign personally for the payment. But in general this would not be a surprise if something like this would come up in the final argument for the prosecution. And it would not be a bad argument to use.
He’s a fraud, and the tissue of his lies only exists in his head. He doesn’t trust anyone else to see a hint of the whole picture, so he connects all the dots himself.
Then, apparently, he flushes the paper trail. Except in states with water conservation and limited-flush toilets. 😂

I believe the argument being made by Trump's lawyers is that Cohen was indeed paying off Stormy Daniels but that Trump was shielded from knowing what the money was going towards. They are arguing that Cohen was the single mastermind behind burying the stories while Trump was allegedly oblivious. We know Trump had to know but it might be hard to prove for the prosecution.
You make the mistake of thinking Trump cares about anything he says, let alone making it sound coherent.
What have we done? Handed the keys to the most powerful position on earth to a dangerous mob boss, that's what you have done.

If his ego gets the better of him Trump may see himself as invincible in the courtroom. This would be right on par with his political lunacy, similar to other dictators' snorts of contempt when finally brought to justice. Any lawyer that advises him to testify should be disbarred immediately - even if he/she could be considered a hero to their country in one respect! By God, even the direct examination from his own lawyers would see Trump lie, fidget, fumble and come across so contemptuously as to sear his guilt into the minds of the jurors. His own testimony would remove virtually any shred of doubt in their minds they have managed to consider in fairness to the legal system more so than to Trump. And then it would be the prosecution's turn to cross-examine......
