I have the same problem. They said take some panadol. So I did some digging and and found a Norwegian doctor who recommended light stretching to ease the pain. It’s helped me a lot. You have to stretch the upper body of course. Try looking up yoga stretches or stretching for costochondritis on TH-cam. You might find him

Look into GERD, or A Hernia, Gastric ulcer, But these pains in these Rib muscles are Real, I get them too! Taking Zinc, has helped my GERD, a lot, Dr. Berg recommends eating She’ll Fish/ Meat etc, for low Zinc levels, I’m allergic to Iodine so can’t. The extra Zinc has done me wonders, if you have upper Gastrointestinal issues. Too.. As he says ones Gastric acid levels lower from age 40! And we Struggle to absorb Vitamin B 12 and have lower Gastric Enzymes! Take Care. ...

Just cured my Costo. Don't need any of this. Follow the ribs where your pain is to that spot on your back. lay on a tennis ball next to your spine in the spots where it hurts. I did it for 2 days and I don't have chest pain for the first time in 3 years. What I learned is that the inflammation in your chest is caused by your back being locked up or restricted and when you breathe, your rib cage is only able to move as it does when you breathe, in your chest instead of chest and back. The over compensation of movement in your rib cage is causing the inflammation, which is causing your pain. I'm not an expert or a doctor but I did this and it worked almost instantly.

I have symptoms like Costochondritis but mine seems to be caused due to bad posture when working and looking at my phone. Always having my head tilted out and forward and shoulders forward creates huge pressure on the chest. This means my chest tightens, causing pain and needs to be popped. I've learned some stretches that really help with this.

    Definitely suffer from this.
Two cardiologists, several doctors, many years, much money. I know this added to then treating me like a hypochondriac. Went to chiro, first visit, he did that popping tool on my breastbone, which left bruises, but the pain went away. I felt amazing.
This video makes so much sense. I have also been majorly deficient in D, and do have liver issues. I also get that referred pain in my right shoulder.
The chest pain always feels like heart aches and the pain in the right shoulder I always worry is lung cancer. Since I've seen doctors for both things and they found nothing (and didn't care to take it any further) THIS actually begins to put the pieces together.
    Thank you!!

When I have a flare-up of costochondtritis, I take Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P), which is the active form of Vitamin B-6. This was recommended to me by a Naturopath and, for me, it works! I have no idea why this works but it does. I take it for a week or so, after the symptoms go away, then I don't take it again unless the costochondritis comes back. (Which seems to be every couple years)

I noticed that when I have bad acid reflux, the right rib starts to be painful. So it may be related to that. However, I relate the start of my costochondritis with the bronchitis I had a long time ago. I remember after it was over, there was a sore pain in my right rib. After the bronchitis, unfortunately I got a bug and developed an ear infection which caused me to cough from morning to evening non-stop. The cough led to a very painful right rib which I'm still trying to treat today. I started some costo exercises and they have made me feel so good. I also agree with you that a lack of vit D may also be the cause. I certainly don't have enough of it. Thank you so much for this video.

I always knew it wasn't heart related. The pain never felt like it came from an organ, I always felt the pain came from a muscle or bone (it's actually cartilage so close enough). I was never too concerned about it since I knew it wasn't an emergency. However, it has been very painful at times. To the point that every movement hurts, when I get up from laying down, when I shift my position in bed at night, when I sneeze, even when I take a breath it hurts. Eventually, it hurt so bad I was tired of living that way. So, I looked up my symptoms after a long time of dealing with it and found out about this. Everything fit and I went to see a doctor that confirmed this is what it is. It comes and goes. It'll last a few weeks or even months. Then I forget about it and don't feel pain for a while. Then it comes back. I guess this is my life now.

I found a site that talks about it also stemming from collagen stiffness in the back " hinges" of the rib cage that manifests as pain in the front. I have been having episodes for 2 years now. It messes up my life horribly.
There is a site if you input the name of this problem sorry I forget his name like Dr Azrel or something like that. He is a physio in NZ. He had this for 7 years and made thus thing called the backpod or some such. It breaks down the collagen adhesions in the back ribs. Sorry I can't be more specific in the middle of a heavy episode. Going to up my D. Check out bile salts and try to get the backpod . Massage of back ribs He says helps also. Just type in the costochindritis and it will come up. Got to beat this .

My son suffered from this as a young adult. He was a mechanic and the doctor felt that the muscles he used in his work were overdeveloped which put a strain on his ribcage. He didn't have a big chest cavity to accommodate these muscles. His ribs would pop out and he'd be in severe pain until they went back in. After a while he learned to deal with it and after quitting mechanics it went away. It was scary before we figured it out.

Around August I believe, I started to experience some strain in my chest it would feel like something is stuck and then I would stretch and the loudest pop would come out. Now the pain is gone but the popping persists daily. I’d be doing anything, and I hear a pop. No idea what to do about it. It’s starting to worry me.

Dr. Berger, there's lots of reasons for costochondritis: Cough too hard. Get a respiratory tract infection. Exercise too much. Exert yourself in a rare way, like moving furniture or reaching into a high cupboard. Injure your chest. Use your arms too much. Have a bacterial infection. Have a fungal infection. And more. I have coscochondritis and I've read up on everything about it's causes and effects and possible remedies. I've spoken to many doctors. None of the information out there, none of information from the medical community says that making any changes to your diet will affect costochondritis. This is not a nutritional problem.

Also the points he referenced are what's known as chapman's points and they pretain to either the liver or gallbladder (if its right sided chest pain) or stomach and pancreas issues (if on the left side).

Just to mention I do smoke , but only marijuana ... They didn't seem 2 connect the 2 together so I'm assuming it isn't that that caused this ... So I'm now wondering if it is my diet. Idk 😞 I can only hope God takes this pain away within a couple of days ... I'm only drinking water right now and watching how much and what I eat .
