The Hoosier pie is actually called sugar cream pie. It is actually served at Lucas oil Stadium, where the Indianapolis Colts play. I don’t know anybody growing up where I did in the state of Indiana and all around me who didn’t know a sugar cream pie. Wicks, sugar, cream pie, which you can find and almost every Walmart in the state of Indiana it’s actually made by a local pie company in the state of Indiana. My sister-in-law was from the region and had never heard of sugar cream pie. We took to one Thanksgiving with her family, and now that is their absolute favorite pie. I have never known a person who tasteed sugar cream pie, hot sugar, cream pie and love it. People relatives live in other states for them to be shipped to them. I would try another cream pie and FYI, cream pie is the state pie for Indiana. actually, I was watching a talkshow a few years ago and they were doing state competition of local food. What I know of as a sugar cream pie is different than what you had pictured. I grew up in Indiana, and to me what you had pictured I know of as an “old fashioned sugar cream pie.” No Thanksgiving, Christmas, or family reunion is complete without an old fashioned sugar cream pie. I have never had a dense old fashioned sugar cream pie. The version you had is not representative of what I grew up with. It should not have any cheesecake quality. It is more of a custard based pie, with a lot of sugar.

And supposedly only 5% in Japan is real wasabi. So 99% of wasabi sold and served in USA is actually horseradish. Same plant family as wasabi, but obviously an exponentially cheaper and easier to source plant than real wasabi. I already knew there was almost no real wasabi here. But their claimed number was even worse than I thought. That video was "11 Of The Most Faked Foods In The World" on "Insider Business" TH-cam channel.

Oh my gosh. I’m sorry, but I was so disappointed with your intro to Workingman’s Friend. Please, please, please, when visiting old places do your homework. It is not a diner. It is a tavern and has been for decades. It has a huge history. Gangsters, factory workers, mysterious death of one of the original brothers. Family tragedy and triumph. I’m not trying to be that internet jerk but you blew it big time.
Thanks for watching and for the details! We aren’t able to highlight the history of places as we are mainly discussing the foods but this is awesome to hear and we appreciate you highlighting it!

It's a breaded tenderloin sandwich.. The one is this video is not an authentic Hoosier tenderloin.. It was twice as thick as it should be..
I agree. I just don't like traditional Hoosier food. No offense, I was born and raised there, but once I ventured out and discovered new and delicious types of foods I realized just how "downhome midwestern" the food there is. There's no other donut place
Longs donuts don't taste the same. They're good when they're hot...
We did try a few other donut places but nowhere was as impressionable as Long’s. Glad they are still in business. Cheers and happy travels!
The Hoosier pie you had wasn’t a true Hoosier pie. It was a crème brûlée Hoosier pie. A real one is not as thick
Interesting!
Who would bother doing a video on restaurants in Indiana? The food sucks ass. But they gave us Larry Legend!
You’re entitled to your opinion, but we disagree and enjoy the Indy food scene
Young women deserve to be respected, like anyone else, but that won't happen until they stop speaking with that snotty, ignorant sounding, vocal fry accent. Jimmy and Babs videos are still very good, though.
Hey Mark, we think you made a typo. Your comment should read: “Women deserve to be respected like anyone else. PERIOD”
All sugar cream pies are hot trash
🤷 maybe you haven’t found the right one yet
I know this is an unpopular opinion but Long's is overrated. There are many places that are better. Their donuts are mediocre at best.
We love unpopular opinions! What donut shops do you like, we will be sure to check them out!
@@jimmyandbabstravels They don't have a store in Indy but the best donut shop/bakery in northern Indiana in my opinion is Concannon's Bakery in Muncie.
Ah we will try to swing by!
Finally, someone said it! Long’s is highly overrated.
First time watching… maybe next time not spend so much time talking about the “cheesecake”……
Thanks for watching!
nothing unique here
Thanks for watching!
You would have had a better chance in Bloomington, IN.
Indianapolis is just gas stations and fast food.
I call bs on this. There are more good places to eat in Carmel than all of Bloomington
@@secoff1 Agreed, Bloomington is dive bars and diners.
St Elmo it totally OVERATTED!
But the shrimp cocktail sauce is 🔥🔥🔥
Aristocrat may be good, but the neighborhood is a dump!
Neighborhoods change 🤷♂️ but the food was 🔥
Indiana has the worst food of any state I've ever been to so far. No one here knows how to cook anything but fatty diner food.
We disagree, Indiana has upped it's food game over the years especially with a lot of talent coming from Chicago to Indy. Maybe give it another try? Happy Eats :)
Working man’s friend is the best hamburger in the United States and the beer is super cold
So glad we discovered it! Happy Eats!
smashed pork tenderloin is usually called pork Schnitzel, they are also very huge all over germany, austria and switzerland
It's not the same thing.. The batter is different and you are supposed to put yellow mustard, dill pickles, and onions on it.. It's not called a smashed tenderloin either.. It's a breaded tenderloin sandwich.. The one is this video is not an authentic Hoosier tenderloin.. It was twice as thick as it should be..
Foods horrible in Indy
I guess we haven’t eaten ALL the food in Indy, but we think these places are good ☺️
There’s lots of great places to eat here, just do not go to the $10 a plate restaurants like Steak ‘n Shake! Hahahaha
I agree. I just don't like traditional Hoosier food. No offense, I was born and raised there, but once I ventured out and discovered new and delicious types of foods I realized just how "downhome midwestern" the food there is. I rarely go out to eat when I'm there because I can't find anything I like. Having said that, I used to bartend at the Ale Emporium and their food is pretty good. Their pizza is on point!
@@kaseykyle7107 except that Steak n Shake invented the smashburger a hundred years ago. So, there's that....
