Martin, awesome video as always! Question: what was the original color of the steel painted tube? Will the Montana Caribbean on a black primer give me that finish?

@@ETOE Martin I have a black matte finish and I would like to get satin finish ... Can you do that without painting it? Any recommendations, Thanks
@@ETOE I'm surprised you didn't say ask your girlfriend...😄
No one else gives this sort of detail. Thank you!
Wow! Really impressive! You are like the Bob Ross of frame painting!
One of the most helpful paint job videos on TH-cam. A lot of great methods and tips shown! Now I learned that matt coat is thinner then clear coat so it's best to do the matt after sanding the clear with vinyl attached. Thanks so much for spreading your knowledge!
I love these videos. I've been trying to learn how to do a nice diy paint job on my bike and this gives me the confidence to try. Thanks, Martin.
"Same temperature you use to wash your kids, i recommend 60 degrees Celsius" lmfao, this guy is hilarious.
🤣
Martin, I just wanted to say how much I've been learning from your entertaining and informative videos. I've painted a few bikes with mixed results (well, poor actually) but I can see many mistakes that I made and can't wait to try out some new techniques.
This is my new favourite channel! So much detail explained. Exactly the sort of tutorials I want to see before attempting my frame project.
Your the man Martin. Been following your videos for a couple months. Painting my daughter’s bike. Thanks for all your advice.
This was so motivational!! I have a number of older bikes but never dared to even consider repainting them until I stumbled across this video. Thank you!
This guy is a genius painter. Every detail. Also very relaxing to watch. Afraid to ruin my frame but may go for it after watching this.
Watching these really makes me want to paint my helmet color shifting gold and black. I'll have to pick up another helmet to test and practice!!! Great tutorial! I've learned more here about painting than I have in industrial design school
OMG is this for REAL ?!?! I've been digging down the pits of old message boards, trying to pieces together all this information.
Thanks for much !!!!
Great energy, great work. Wunderbar!!
I love the way you explain stuff you be real specific thanks
I’m currently pimping an old BMX, this was hugely helpful! Subscribed!
Love this guy , he’s kickass every time 🤘
I am absolutely blown away. Damn good job and attention to detail 👏
Love the video! It’s cool to just watch you do something you enjoy.
bro this is top of the shelf guide! thanks Etoe for the work u put in it!
This is what I am waiting for thank you for this. More power to your channel bro
this video answers my thoughts, thank you 👍
Thanks so much for doing that great vid, after I asked for it in the comments of your previous video. You're a fine man!
Another great video martin! keep up the great work.
Great vid Martin, thanks for the indepth process description.
You're an artist Martin.
That actually is some really in-depth high quality how to. I’ve just ordered a cube bike and don’t know if I’ll be keeping the colors. Looks like a fun winter project. Also thx for the European links. Cheers. 🙂
Wow, well done on that Matt finish on the gloss
Glad I've found your channel. I just want to paint EVERYTHING after watching your videos 🤣🤣 cant wait to paint my first frame
Thank you so much for this video. It will be one of the guides for me to paint my bike.
🙏🏼💗🙇🏻♂
Very nice detailed video of how to do it! But the great key to having an amazing paint job is that you need a dust free room. Otherwise you will see it when you apply any sort of glossy finish on top
Hello from Brazil, you job is amazing.
Increible! Thanks for sharing this content mate!
Such an interesting video, lots of useful and advised advices
Many thanks
How I love the way you explain things you do. Very clear. Like to learn from you
thank you for your videos, it's very usefull, i'm gonna try this black mat and gloss and with your tuto i feel able to do this
this was very informative, you deserve more likes
Thanks Martin for this video, one of your best definitely ! Because of your videos, I bought 3 days ago everything to do a diy paint job on my old bike with 2k primer, 2k clear coats (mat and glossy) and 2 colors. Now I will be back here in 1 year when I'm done with the sanding the frame :)
Please share your results once done 😎
@@Cronff sure 👍😊
@@macp344 so you done sanding ? :D
How’s the sanding?
😂 funny...but seriously. 😐 At least heres someone rooted in reality. 90% of painting is the prep work. Or else its a lot of money and time for nothin.
Im curious to see how that came out.
you are such a good painter
I’m definitely going to be painting some tubes. I have tons of scrap tube to practice with
Love the techniques and great tunes too.
Awesome 👍👍👍
I'm going to repaint my frame 😁👌🤗
Great video !!!!!!!!!
This guy is bonkers and I love it. Fantastic video 👍
As always good work and entertaining!
There’s nothing to say: you’re the best!!!!
You do beautiful work. I think I’m going to try this on my new Roadlite 7.
man! ur playlist damn good! u got a great taste
Yeah top creativity & great finishes
Excelente tu canal, la edición de los vídeos estupenda, y las explicaciones pasó a paso geniales,
Gracias
Thank you for your charming helpful video.
Exactly what I need to learn.
great tutorial, danke!
I wish I had the skills to paint my bike like that. Amazing work bro, all three are dope. Thank you, Sir ETOE the III, Son of Earl!
You do have the skills to paint a bike, you just need confidence to try! Practice with some rattle cans on old bits of metal to develop the skills until you feel confident enough to paint your bike!
Great channel! Thanks for the knowledge you provide. One question I have is what software do you use to present your paintings to your customers? and maybe a video on that side of your process?
Enjoyed the music with this video and more great info
I was thinking to paint my bike and that video just came in time, very helpful Thank you.
Glad I could help
Love your videos - Thank you
On my MTB i have lots of stone chips into the lacquer (paintwork is still intact and not chipped). I would really appreciate a video on how to delicately sand the lacquer without destroying the original paintwork and then apply new lacquer. thanks
Top Video, Martin! Danke!
What a great fucking video brother!! Absolutely love it. Very relaxing music, really good detail and info, combined with your unique style. Thanks 🙏🏼
this is the video i was searching for
A Master piece!!!

my second favorite German painter 🙏
Yes Baby must have gone through your head.... god knows how many times..... such perfection.... i 💌 it for a spray job..... such admiration and inspiration..... teach me please
Love your videos
exactly what i was searching for!!... thanks✌️
You are welcome!
Thank you Champ!
Background musics are awesome.
amazin tips. thank you
Great video. I also recommend having a shop sandblast the metal parts of the bike. It costs about $50 and saves me hours.
Excellent video thank you great job
Thanks!
Hi Martin, Your englisch is so fluent that makes you nobody after!
Regards Arne Bollensen .😀😀😀👌👍😎
Hi Martin. Nice walkthrough of the DIY :D How many ml do you use of primer, clearcoat and coloring (example mat black on all of the frame). Just to know, whether you should have 2 x 400 ml or 3 x 200 ml or so :)
Thank you in advance!
Schöner Hintergrund. Schön dargelegt. Dankeschön.
hello from Philippines i love your work so amazing😍 i want to repaint my bike but your so far😆
Great video! Questions: If I use black primer and want white logos do I need to repaint black around the stickers after I have finished with the white or should I just go to the colour I want for the rest of the frame straight away? Thanks!!
Great skills 👌
Great video! Do I need to paint the whole bike with a glossy clear coat, or just the areas where i will apply the stickers?
Thanks Martin for your tips ! I see all of your videos and i try also to paint my bike!
Actually yesterday I paint my bike with paint gun and airbrush! The results was fantastic ( i have use black color and after pigment powder to color my bike frame like you did in the specialized video) till I remove the masking tape...The color (only the black color not the pigment powder color) was also under the masking tape and destroy my graphics! I have try to paint only the destroyed masking parts but no luck! I must sand all the bike frame and start over! :(
Je maakt fantastische you tube filmpjes 😄👍
I need to do this. To my tri-frame
Thanks!!!
Hi Martin. Love your videos, entertaining and informative (as well as hilarious). Want to do this with gloss white logos on matte black frame. Guessing most pro way is: 2K white primer, sand, white base coat, mask logos, black coat, remove stickers, sand, gloss clear coat, re-mask logos, sand, matte clear coat, flex like a boss. Sound right?
You produce nice work so you must be doing things right. I can see for sure you choose good paint products so that's not a question for me. What I want to know is your process and timing. In this video you primed and laid a base color all in one step. Would priming, off-gassing for 2 days and then wet sanding the priming coat, cleaning, drying and then applying a top coat be better or worse or same and why? How long did you wait to apply the gloss/matt clear coats? It's obvious you didn't do the base/clear in one step since you wet sanded the base coat. Thanks for the great video and your time in putting it together and sharing it.
Awesome!👍
Thanks for the visit
Hey Martin thanks a lot for such a great channel. I have a few questions to you, and I will be enormously grateful if you could take a few minutes to answer me. 1: I painted a bike once, but the clear coating wasn't very resistant to scratches. Is the one you use resistant enough? I have read that there is one clear coat called 2K, can i use the 2K clear coat on Montana spray colors? 2: how do you make the stickers? is there a machine i can buy for it? Once again thank you.
hi man ! is matt vinyl preferable to gloss when you're using it for logo and logo stencils etc ? nice work by the way on all of these videos !
Super boulot 👍
Do you leave your paint booth turned off during recording to keep it quiet in there? I have to wear noise-canceling headphones or earplugs inside mine. So noisy!
Thanks again for another amazing video. Love you man!!
u deserve more subs
Thanks for this awesome videos! When a video for a carbon sight frame? It needs primmer? Just only coat? etc...
I understand we still use primer. I'm about to do it.
Martin, really appreciate your videos and the links with each. I have a carbon Rocky Mountain frame that I want to sand down, 2x primer, and color gloss black then 2x matte/satin clear like in the video. I have experience painting solid colors on bikes and feel like I can take it this far from your videos. Issue is that I want to paint on letters and some accents over the matte clear but have them show as gloss. Assume that I mask, then spray on the color for this but then spray 2x gloss maybe one coat before removing decals? Concern is will the lettering be too high with 1x color and 1x gloss clear. Thanks!
Hello Martin, i have a question what is the brand name of your signwriter printer and cutter you use' thanks great videos.
Great video again! I think I'll buy a cheap second hand frame soon and experiment... Only have to find a place that can cut the masking for me in the Netherlands.
Alligning that masking on the already painted logos must be hard to make perfect :O
Hi Martin, great videos. I have this problem whenever I spray my bike frame using spray can the colour is not uniform. I can see dark spot and light spot. I believe the spray can pressure is not uniform. Any tips?
Would it be enough to just paint the spots where i want the glossy finish with gloss clear coat or do i have to paint and then sand down the entire frame before applying the matt clear coat?
After you wet sand each time, do you clean the frames just with water or alcohol?
If i cleaned with acetone during layers would it effect the fresh paint?
