    It is a good idea but there needs to be a way to decentralize the system - there cannot be one person or one party with so much power.

    Putting ALL OPINIONS ASIDE, if Julius Malema is in power and enforces state-owned land, he now has ALL the power and control. He can do ANYTHING with the land and with YOU. NEVER give one party such power over you - if they turn out to be corrupt, you are SCREWED! Say hello to the new Zimbabwe. Think people!

    Malema some of us do realize that you are raising serious issues that should have been raised years back,when the ANC came to power but unfortunately that's was not the case.when it comes to land issues i really don't think Government should be the Custodian,clearly because that will be the last burden to the very poor Masses of our people.Government is a money machine,so if the land falls under Government's wings how on earth our poor people will afford to buy land from Government?,as they are struggling to feed themselves?.So in this particular point we disagree with you CIC!.We know ofcourse this will favour only the rich people because if you want to buy just a small piece of land from its cost thousands of Rands...please be advisable concerning this issue.Government should work together with Traditional Learders not sidelined them,because that will fail our people who are been failed already in every basic right and needs.

    Can someone clarify this one for me please? I'm a black male who bought land (Properties) after 1994 with my hard-earned cash, no tenderpreneur in my earnings. Does this mean that my properties will be expropriated, and I have to ask the EFF government to lease MY properties to me? and give the State reasons on what I will use them on?

      It means you own the house and not the land under the house. If you live in a security complex, read the fine print of your deed carefully. You most likely own your townhouse and the land underneath is owned by the trustee of Mr Alberton Van dewalt or mr Sandton or something passed on to his family members since 1890. what will change is that the state and not Mr Alberton Van dewalt will now own the land. Meaning the land under your house will be owned by every south african

    Land in African culture is put under the custody of the king, and the king is responsible for allocation according to use.The first settlers who came to SA were given land to use not to take forever. Even today if you go to villages in SA the same traditions are maintained of the king allocating land according to use, Europeans think you can use a piece of paper to claim ownership of land, Land cant be owned by individuals , its the dust from which we come from, its everybodies land, nobody has special pieces of it reserved for themselves. The state must surely be mandated by South Africans to be custodians of the land and allocate it for use according to our culture.

    • @andastudn4910
      @andastudn4910 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting, but If you give the state control of allocating the land can you also see that you are giving incredible amounts of power to very a small number of people (like Malema) who can then abuse that power by allocating the land to the highest bidder? Although individual property rights like in Europe aren't perfect they are very good at minimizing that abuse of power. Humans will always have a corruptible side, so it is best to not elevate an individual to have extreme power as the temptation will be too great.

    • @charliendlovu9997
      @charliendlovu9997 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The law should prevent sale of commercial land only allow leasing for extended periods, especially to foreign investors. ownership of residential property should not extended to permanent ownership of the land, only the house and the top 12mm of the soil under the house. So even if corrupt people give land to the highest bidder they can never own it, only temporary use it

    I am a white male, born and raised in South Africa, i would like to complain and blame apartheid for making my life hell. i was born in 1990, and all i have ever known is black people blaming white people, and people threatening me and insulting me for crimes i never committed, its hard for me to get a good paying job, despite my extensive education, which i paid for myself. i have had to resort to working for myself due to B.E.E giving all the job priority to under skilled economically oppressed individuals, even though they live in a better house than me and have the latest model car. i would also like to blame apartheid for making sure that i am not eligible for free housing or government support that a black South African might be. i was born here. this is my home. this is my land. what makes you more deserving than me? anyone born in 1990 or later has absolutely no right to complain about an unfair life. since 1994 black people have run south africa and everything is tilted in your favour. if you still cant make it in today's age and want to blame white people for events over 20 years ago then there is no hope for you. and no matter how much you take. even after you kill every last white person..you will still suffer, you will still be looking for free hand outs in life. look to yourself for the solution to your life, work hard like every other successful person has. it wont just fall into your lap for free..

      You should consider that those who had the advantage during apartheid have amassed wealth and are still holding the land even though there is claim of normalization. I think getting the land under government control for leasing to those who wish to farm and then use the money obtained and the terms of the contract that gives quotas on how many from what background should be hired would make sense. The government can then indirectly create employment and have money to support the most underprivileged through free education and health care. I do not think the starting point is equal, so you cannot as people to work hard (this presumes that they do not work hard as we speak) - every group has hard working people and those who lag behind. Policies make nations.

      Gaz : You benefitted from Apartheid hence you had good home to go to every day. You had good education probably private school or those well equipped White only schools. But my African people didn't have it that easy like you did. You forgot the impact of over 300 years of oppression can never be taken away in just 20 years. The aftermath of your father's cruelty to mankind is what you are reaping. You claimed blacks have things in their favor.. THAT'S A LIE... If not we won't be here fighting for land and equality. We are still fighting to be in control of our economy after years of ending Apartheid. For total justice and for your future generation comfort, so that they are not held accountable for their grandfather's evil acts, preach to your people to break the chain by doing the right thing. Because it will continue to get worse if African rights are still suppressed by white monopoly capital. And your existence is bleak as long as you still hold on to your racist white supremacy mentality of undermining Blacks in their own country.

    So the forgein Greek-modelled organisation called 'the government' should control land. In other words, EFF must control the land?
    In a European system that the Europeans control through their ability to print money at will via the privately owned SARB?
    So when the government owns the land, FF+ and DA (colonial political parties) should have a say on our forefather's and foremother's land?
    I'm slowly seeing for myself why Andile Mngxitama left the EFF.
    Direct ownership of land by Native Africans is what's needed. Direct ownership by people and families and the land should not be for sale and we should have no property tax. THAT is a goal worth striving for. We'd be empowered sovereign people at that point.
