When you see old videos like this, do you ever think back to how old you were and how good life was back then? I do that all the time. Sometimes I get depressed because I remember how amazingly happy I was in those days and the world was so much better......
I think exactly the same thing mate, I miss those days all the time, but I'm so grateful I got to live through those years, I feel sorry for the youth today such a shitty world for them to grow up in.
Couldn't agree more, instead of the world getting better, it's got worse, kids today don't know what it's like to wait a week to see if a metal band or whatever band your into will be on top of the tops, the only social media I do is TH-cam, where else can you remember a song you havnt heard in 30 years and its right there 😀

Bruce was singing with Samson, at that time. They were an excellent band but did not get the fan base of early iron maiden. The first 2 albums flew out the shops like wildfire. Early maiden will always rock the world.
THIS is what made me a lifelong Maiden fanatic. I am a HUGE fan of Dickinson, hands down. HOWEVER, Mr. Dianno is cherished like a family member, and I will never stop being a fan of his. Got to see Paul play on a cold Xmas eve in Seattle. That show was so good it brought tears. Up the irons
Man, just awsome. Christmas Night 2011 he came to Reggies Rock house in Chicago, and played the first two albums in it's entirety, he only did like 4 shows in the US, so glad i was there, one of the best concerts of my lifetime.

The debut and Killers blows away anything I've heard afterwards. I was introduced to the band with Bruce and 7th Son and I passed on them for a long time after hearing it. Not that I think it's bad, it just wasn't my thing. Then the further I kept going back the better they got until I got to the first two and was blown away.

I was just listening to a video that's 4 hours long called Maiden Guitar solo megamix, and it's incredible how many memorable melodies are on those first two albums alone. Maiden has one of the greatest debuts from any band I've ever heard. The songs are so good I don't even care if the production isn't to the standard of Killers or the ones that came later. I've always liked my music a little heavier and grittier, so maybe that's why I prefer them. Pauls vocals were such a perfect fit for those songs. A lot of singers in metal in the 80's tried to do the Dickinson thing and many came close that I don't really find Bruce all that unique, at least compared to what Di'anno was belting out. That guy was in a class of his own, like Bon Scott and Ozzy. I prefer my vocalists to have a distinctive sound which separates them from everyone else.

A long time Maiden fan since 85, now in my 50s. Their best albums were in the 80s and they peaked probably with power slave, Time and seventh Son. They were their best in the 80s for me. Not to say they're later albums were bad, they just got more progressive.. Piece of mind and Powerslave are my favourites, they're classic maiden to me. I could never understand in the 90s how they came up with Blaze to replace Bruce, no disrespect to blaze but he just couldn't sing some of Bruce's songs. Anyway never saw this it's great, Paul was brilliant and Clive Rip. I always wished they went back to their 80s days style wise. Like a Piece of mind 2, or a Powerslave 2, don't think it will ever happened though. Up the Irons 🤘🤘🤘

On my 15th birthday the 20th november 1980 i saw them in copenhagen opening for kiss. To this day i think paul dianno is hugely underrated and his voice suited maiden more than dickinson. But the real eyeopening experience was Harris bassplaying. When Kiss entered the stage(3 times bigger stage) i was in an aw. Man what an evening for my 15th birthday. Ran in and stood centerstage in front and got a pick from Gene Simmons. One of the best days of my life, easy
I was 10 yrs old when I first heard Piece of mind. That album is what set my genre of music for the rest of my life. I still have all my maiden vinyls from Iron Maiden self titled to somewhere in time. Good memories.

I've always loved the Di'Anno era of Iron Maiden. It's never been, nor will it ever be, possible for Iron Maiden to make a better album than their first one, or Killers.
I became a huge Maiden fan just before Piwerslave was released and then I got into the older Maiden albums. Was never a PD fan. Bruce is a million times better in every way.
I love early Maiden with Paul just as much as anyone and I have listened to them for a long long time and still do. Senjutsu is a masterpiece just like A matter of life and Death. Steve made the perfect decisions to keep Maiden going all these years. With Paul and Clive it wouldn't have happened...I love them both but the changes Steve made were 100% correct. Blaze carried a torch that was too heavy for anyone at that time but he did it and did it well. X factor is amazing just give it a listen thoroughly. UP THE IRONS FOREVER 🤘

The warmth and mellow timbre that Paul Di'anno's voice conveys in this piece and in the first two Maiden albums makes me cry. I haven't heard anything so exciting in the metal scene since. The Maiden of this period are floating in a fragile soap bubble to be protected forever.
Always loved dianno from the two first albums, but his unstable condition was not right for iron maiden in the longer run, still I loved his "dark scary" style

When Bruce quit in 1993 they should’ve brought Dianno back & made great 5 minute songs again.
