    Thank you for providing us with impressions of the tournament atmosphere and the psychological tension. Soft motions but hard thoughts.

    The first few pictures show a tournament with Spassky. As defeated champion he was seeded direct into the candidate matches

      Those first few photographs in the first thirteen seconds are not from the Interzonals. I think they are from the 1973 USSR Championship. I have seen at least one other photograph of Spassky taken with that jacket from that tournament. Spassky and Petrosian also didn’t play in the Interzonals that year. They were seeded automatically into the Candidates as the defeated world champion and the loser of the Candidates final. I see Geller in the first photograph as well. He played in a different Interzonal than Karpov and Korchnoi. He played in the Petropolis Interzonal whereas they played in the Leningrad Interzonal. All of them played in the USSR Championship that year which I am pretty sure that those photos are from that tournament.
