How about that Paper Mario TTYD remake announcement from the Nintendo Direct, huh? In the mean time, why not take a gander at Bug Fables to hold you over 'till 2024? It's pretty much got everything you love about the first three paper games. It's like the story from Super Paper Mario with improved game play from The Thousand Year Door and 64. - เกม

Bug Fables: Berry Splash was a great game here. Sure, it's not on par with the fabled Thousand-Rooted Tree or Super Bug Fables, but it still is able to stand on it's own and shine brilliantly as well.
Thousand-Rooted Tree had the best group of villains in the wasps
Ultimax, or Fuff, was always funny, no matter the scene because of his bumbling idiocy.
But the side stories with Mothiva and Zasp between each chapter were amazing! I wish they brought that back for the modern Bug Fables games at least

Playing through Bug Fables for the first time, I couldn't help but think that the world and lore are perfectly set up for Things to exist, and it would just be so hilarious to me if they went down that path (even though I know the developers would never do it).
well in-universe artifacts of the giants would prolly be bonkers rare/too big to be transported like save crystals

The only thing not accurate is two enemies attacking after a failed run attempt. In Sticker Star, only half of the enemies attack you if you fail to run, rounded up (2 enemies for 3 total)

I like how they just erased from existence vi and leif to give more focus on kabuu very good (its gonna be a silent protagonist).
The stickers I gonna expect they are gonna make the game more customable and fun that the original already was.
I hope that all npcs looks exactly the same one with each other to make more simple, because to be honest who spend time reading dialogue of ramdom npcs?

@spiritbaki108 but then you leave out the fact that Miyamoto hated the end result. Those were also just suggestions, not requirements, the development team didn't have to follow them yet Tanabe suggested they did making him more at fault if anything, and HE didn't like the end result either. Also when has Paper Mario ever been notable for its story? None of the Paper Mario games ever had good stories in the first place, they were some of the most shallow and generic JRPG storylines filled with typical JRPG cliches. Paper Mario has always been about the unique battle system, not the story.

Having not played PM64, watched a walkthrough of the second, and played each one after that, even if you think that the first and the second ones do not have good story, it is necessary.
Story in a videogame makes it so that the player goes forward.
Soccer is a "game" that doesnt have story, but has interesting "gameplay" so that it is fun just for the fun of it. Videogames like RPGs have story and gameplay, and, in my understanding, NEED a story, even if it is not amazing. Some RPGs have good stories (paper mario 1-2, bug fables, M&L) and some of them have amazing stories (Super Paper Mario, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, FFVII...).
There are games like arcade games, sports games, (sometimes) platformers and adventure games that do not need a story (even then, a story is never detrimental to a game), and there are games that ABSOLUTELY need a story, like RPGs, visual novels...
Making an RPG without a story is risky, but it can work if the gameplay is good enough to make up for it.
SS has neither, the only thing good about that thing is the music and the writing (then again, in the joke department, not as in story).
If you try argue that Paper Mario has never been about the story (look up the japanese name of the first game), you would be incredibly wrong. Even if you dont like the stories, they are there; they exist. The first two (I assume the first one also has a good story) have good stories, and the third one, SPM, although it had a change in formula that was very different, it still retained what make Paper Mario, Paper Mario: a story, good characters, interesting environments to explore, and combat; the story being what most consider one of the best in gaming.
In short, SS sucked ass because it had nothing that resembled Paper Mario, except Mario and combat (which sucked). You argue that Miyamoto didnt like it, and I can maybe accept it, if it wasnt the fact that did that again (Color Splash). And again, but with good gameplay (Origami King). If Miyamoto doesnt like shit in his drink, why did he order it 3 times, but the last one with sprinkes?
I recommend you watch some of those videos talking about the points ive made in a more orderly manner
@spiritbaki108 first thing, the "Story" in "Mario Story" was a reference to the story book art style of the game, it had nothing to do with the fact that the game had a story, it's the same reason Yoshi's Story has "Story" in the title. Second thing, it was the only Paper Mario game called that, they dropped "Story" from the title immediately after that as TTYD was called "Paper Mario RPG" in Japan, convenient how you ignore that. Super Paper Mario had an average at best story, sure it was great for a MARIO GAME, but if you have ever played any non-Mario RPGs, or better yet ever read any books or watched any movies, the story is nothing special and is actually a pretty typical JRPG storyline. Nobody considers SPM's story to be "one of the best in gaming" except Mario fans who have never played another RPG outside of the Mario RPGs, if you ask most people who have actually played other RPGs, they will say the same thing I'm saying; that SPM's story is just average and there are many RPGs with far better stories than SPM.

-Every NPC is just a generic ant soldier
-No exp after defeating enemies (no grinding yay)
-Wasp king is the villain but he dosent speak
- Vi and Leif don't appear and Kabu fights alone
-Kabu gets a new "companion" a berry with eyes named Rebry who is constantly rude to Kabu and does not give him any usefull advice what so ever. Rebry is also the only new character in the game.
-Puzzles are now fun and engaging. like at one point the exit to a levelis stuck inside of a toliet and in order to get it you must flush it. So if you go use the plunger item to flush it it explodes. You need the plunger for the puzzle where you must drain the water in the pound. Instead what you need to do is you need to backtrack to the first level in the game jumo 50 times on a rock, which leads to a secrete exit which takes you to a level with a dead end, then you must go talk to a specific ant soldier that looks ike the rest of the NPCs who will give you a key, you then must sell the key so you can get enough money to use the ATM. but if you put in too much money then the ATM explodes and you must do this entire sequence all over again. Then after you get the money from the ATM you must race a wasp soldier. If you win this then you get the golden plunger that allows you to unclog the toilet to get the exit for the level.
-Funny dialogue involving bug puns. Like at one point a NPC says that your bugging them. Very funny 10 out of 10 game.

Bug fables is one of my favorite games of all time, and I am one of the few people that liked sticker star, but taking kabbu's friends away was too far ;-;
