Did it sound or run better with the replacement Stihl 170 carb or the 250 carb? It seems to have a… not a bog, but a slightly prolonged ramp from idle to full throttle. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. How does it do holding mid throttle?
It sounds better with the 250 carb more opened up . Definitely a prolonged ramp up from idle in this video . The adjustments on the carb are very touchy. Mid to full throttle runs great . Been carving with it on my other channel. One thing I’m seeing is once warm it doesn’t want to start unless I’m half choke.
Here is my other channel. youtube.com/@KyleHallwoodworker?si=bRmg7cu65_kCQz-z. I don’t do a lot of shows but I will be carving live this weekend in Saratoga NY at the Saratoga city center
@@KylesChainsawRescue Nice. I did a show there in the winter years ago with the Petrillos. Some sort of wood working show, didn’t demo, just sales. It was decent.
I believe you could do the same thing as the 180 and 170 are basically the same platform. The C is just the easy start recoil . I’ll see what I can do for more in depth . What’s the specific thing you want to see ?
I've tan those cheap cylinders. Everyone I've run, regardless of price, has eaten the chrome out of the cylinder after a few uses. The next one I get, I'll try a meteor kit because everyone seems to like those.
Why change carburetor? One setting low air fuel mix not enough? Need high bolt Jack air fuel mix setting too? And third bolt? I have Stihl 880 and Stihl 171 setting 3 fuel air bolts Low and High and third bolt
I would be interested in how you modify the wt215 carb to make it work on an MS 180
I like the air filter mod , I may try it .
Best easy upgrade to do is the walbaro wt215 carb aka 025 carb and a basic muffler mod
Thanks for the comment.
I would love to see the charb mod

@@KylesChainsawRescue Care to link the other channel? I’m a carver too. You do any of the mid east coast events?

How do you mod the shroud to fit the 210 filter
Would this information be valid for the MS-180C? Interesting. A more in-depth video would be appreciated.

Clunky 100 year old technology holding on by a thread.
