Don't get the wrong idea, this is a GREAT video and an awesome method,but if it gets too popular, Bungie will eventually see it, and patch it, and we don't want that to happen, do we? ;)

Goe Hansen Bungie doesn't care about loot caves they knew about them before the game even came out...the only reason they patch them is because many players got reported/banned from other players.

For everyone complaining! You most likely need the dlc. That pike is the version that has the quad rocket/boosters on the back and shoots mines. This model came around in the dlc. So if you don't have the dlc, this most likely why it hasn't showed up.

Spent a solid 1-2 hours lookin for heavy pike and it never showed up, it may be patch out
+TheImpatientGamer The heavy pike still spawns in various locations around venus, but with random taken incursions if your AKF you'll get killed every 15 to 20 minutes.
There is another way there but its not an afk farm but all you need to do is kill all the enemies in that same spot go outside the building look left and there will be an elevated spot wjich is really just some shrubbery jump on that look back double jump or glide jump whatever special type of jump you have and be right against the wall of that building you left and when you hit the ground the enemies would have respawned and you can kill then and just rinse and repeat

If you have a hard time finding the pike you can also just load into the HoW mission where it spawns at the start and use the side thrusters to get over the raised area at the spawn point and then head here.

There's a door on the right of the building and all you need to do is jump up on the ledge outside then jump as high as you can and they will respawn (If you can't find pike).

I'm starved for weapon parts so this looks awesome. This is the one thing I don't mind AFK farming. How else can you get parts? Even legendary weapons only dismantle for 2 or 3 parts.

For everyone asking if this still works or not, it doesn't. Bungie patched it after the Taken King expansion. For all the people saying it's fake just because they couldn't get it working nowadays, don't be so salty. It was for both consoles and it was pretty easily doable, you just can't get heavy pikes in patrols anymore.

Why do you need the heavy pike? Cant you just use a regular one? or just shoot them with rocket launcher? (Heavy Ammo Synthesis)
Does this still work? The heavy pike hasn't spawned for me and I've been waiting for an hour.
There is a heay pike that spawns behind the building you farm from, it is much quicker to get the pike from there
You could always get a pile from the mission "a kell rising " a get the pike from there.

I actually found a heavy pike in the shattered coast. It seems to spawn in any spawn cave not just the ember caves.
Hmm. I've watched several vids on he subject and never seen one there, that's awesome though since it gives you multiple areas to look for the pike.
Also someone could have gotten off the heavy pike and you might have accidentally stole it lol :p

I've spent hours trying to find the pike. Are you sure it's not been patched?
Ok. So the first time I tried this, I found the heavy pike in a matter of seconds. I do not have the dlc packs so the spawning of the pike does not depend on that. I drove to the farm spot, killed the enemies inside once, backed up while shooting and leaned against the tree. I did have some trouble with leaning the pike against the tree. The leaves on the side of the tree kept getting in my line of sight and I ended up shooting the ground most of the time. After a while of trying to lean and shoot, I gave up and just started shooting flat on the ground towards the spawn area. I did this for like 15 minutes and only one green engram spawned. So my questions are,
Do you have to lean against the tree for this to work?
How long to you have to shoot to get a considerable amount of engrams?
What Destiny version is this on?

There's a distance you have to be away from the cave in order for the enemies to spawn, which is likely why you only got a green. Where'd you find the pike?

you could shoot them hop on your sparrow ride to the tree then go back and they re spawn then do it the old fashion way lol.
i hope this isnt patched yet this will be great since i started over. my old cryptarch was around level 50 and they made it way more harder to level him up so this will be AWESOME if it works still. i knew this spot or the jump glitch with this spot but this is way better!!!!!!

Remember that infinite thrall spawn glitch on that mission on Earth? Just add a pike and this method.

Guys this was two years ago it's almost destiny 2 sooooo I'm trying to think or it's too hard for me but I think they patched a game breaking glitch remember loot cave got patched in a week I think it's patched and also you don't believe me look at the damn comments a year ago..... Can't find pike another commitment that was a year ago says I think it's patched also a 8 month one says why isn't working IT'S PATCHED!!!!!!
I got to do this for 10 minutes and some little kid came by and kept trying to roll me over with his sparrow and would not leave me Alone... For Like 15 minutes I waited.. This was the most relentless troll I've ever seen... I literally had to leave... Bogus... But it works beautifully for sure
