How many country music 🎶 fans would have ever expected to see a tribute concert for charities honoring Billy Gibbons and how about Billy winning that very coveted award in the traditional blues category and then showing his old school blues roots along with Jimmy Vaughn and some of the old school blues Masters a lot of ZZTOP fans would not have known about his, or Stevie Ray Vaughns old school blues roots unless they were fans of theirs from their early days in southwest Texas during the early days of the southwest Texas rockin blues revolution before it became a very big part of the whole southern rock revolution that took over from the British invasion

I tried hard to find a video of ZZ Top doing a country song, then come across this. I went and seen them a few nights ago, he did ZZ Tops version of "16 Tons", an honor to witness. I have followed ZZ Top since the first album in 1971. I was hooked from day one, but as they pulled old songs from the shelf I hadnt heard for a long time, I was flooded with memories, and 16 Tons was a song my father played a lot, so when he did that I almost got choked up. Gibbons is a rare treat to the world, ZZ Top was an engineered sound by each member, but especially Gibbons. 50 years, three people, no extreme drama, and still creative today, Gibbons follows the golden rule, never stop learning. It was a huge loss of Dusty Hill, but by his request Elwood Francis did a tremendous job as a replacment. Gibbons deserves this salute and then some, he is proof that the passion of creativity if applied to hard work and passion can be rewarding, and not altered by arrogance, drugs and foolishness that has destroyed many good artists in the past.....

Man I really can't think of any other artist that deserves the recognition Billy deserves. In terms of guitar playing. I just wish Dusty was here to get his recognition too. Billy really is one of my biggest influences. Those early 70s recordings are truly a lesson in guitar playing. The man really could rip it and he could also play with such feel you could seriously hear those BB King influences. Arrested while driving blind is a perfect example of this. The entire Tejas album is incredible blues guitar work. Im so happy Billy got his recognition in the Nashville area. He was on a track on the new Black Keys album and I think his next album should be produced by Dan from The Keys.. it was so good. Billy we love you here in Arkansas. Rest in peace Dusty Hill

The first time that I saw Billy Gibbons live he was with ZZ Top playing in Kansas City and Bachman Turner Overdrive was opening for them, it was 1973 or 1974 and Tres Hombres had just come out, ZZ Top was great, hell they were both great, anyway I caught the brain fry in1974 or 1975 at Texas Stadium in Austin Texas, billed as The Rompin Stomping BBQ , it was the end of August or the first part of September and it was hot as hell with very few concession stands open, it was bad but ZZ Top and Santana were wonderful, anyway I have seen Billy Gibbons play numerous times over the last 40 years and I love his playing and how he helps other less fortunate people, he has been very good to Roky Erickson from The 13th Floor Elevator's, anyway, great musician and artist, plus I love his hat

Hello I'm French, We've got dangerous problems with "woke " people. here in France (you own us) Here's the best proof what USA is for me : Freedom of music for ANYBODY My greatest thanks for this show,/VIDEO i'm a fan of Billy and Jimmie, but I've discovered lot more of very interesting Artits (I'm not a Country music fan) but now I will reconsider my (dumb) judgement (country music is silly/poor musical style to country music is huge part of musical history) And you know what ? YOU ROCK GUYS ! Love from the real old France.

Sorry dude. The dogmatic self-righteous-woke political correctness has literally wrung the humor, uniformity, ability to laugh at our selves without being offended, enjoy other people’s laughter at us-split our country into fragmented “us” and “them”. It’s happening worldwide on 5 continents I’ve traveled through . Sorry to hear about France. It’s awful we can’t close boarders and vet people prior to their arrival. Or send them immediately back when they arrive with no visa.unless exigent circumstances apply. The diluted culture of France, the U.K., Africa, everywhere is something that is an unfortunate consequence of open borders which is contributing to wokeness.
Billy F Gibbons is the real deal musician and gear head. Miss Dusty. RIP.

My family was at that performance. Brad Paisley wast listed as being there the night the filmed - he wasn't. That performance was added later. Notice he's not part of everyone playing at the end of the show.
