Good times, I can't remember how many times I've heard Family Tradition around a campfire and everyone shouting "why do ya drink?" Y'all know how the rest goes and I bet you did it too!
Rock country blues. Few can walk that line. Bocephus is a legend. I am thankful for my Dad giving me his Dad's music and JR's. Forever a fan. Forever devoted to true music
I've only met one man that grew up in rural America that did not like hank jr. That was my older brother. He's a rambler, left home at 17 but still graduated, hitched all across the country working, working on farms and such, loves hiking mountains, punk rock, loves hank sr and hank III. so one day I asked him, why don't you like hank jr? I don't think he really knew anything about the man and I was like you guys have a lot in common. Both didn't want to walk in their fathers footsteps. My father pretty much offered my brother to take over the family business and my brother said no, he wants to make his own way in life. Both love whiskey, women, football, western sunsets. I told him I don't think you ever gave hank jr a chance😏
Leave your brother alone, if he don't like a singer that's his business, he get tired of your BS, he might smack the crap out of you, he sounds like my kind of man. 😅😅😅
My brother and I and our friends did right much camping on the farm when we were teenagers back in the late 80s/early 90s. One of our favorite things to do around the campfire was to drink beer and listen to Bocephus! .....good times!
Me , too. Saw him in Nashville in the early eighties . He appeared to be singing to himself with no interaction with his audience.. I loved his Daddy's music and listened to him on the radio in the mornings on the Martha White Show.... Hank Jr. was a baby then ... At the end of the show , he would tell his maid to put the biscuits in the oven , he would be home dreckly.. Also, remember hearing on the radio on New Years morning that he had died in 1953.... Loved country music then and still do...
Also, have visited Hank Sr.'s grave in Montgomery , Ala.... Alan Jackson wrote and sang a song about visiting Hank's grave.... I think the name of the song is , Midnight in Montgomery...

This was when the Grand Old Opry was real not this stupid bullshit they call country now Hank Jr was his own man and he was real GOD BLESS YOU Hank Jr and Hank Sr
If you remember, they hated this back then. Don't you think this outlaw bit's done got out of hand? Also, there's tons of good country out there now. The shit on the radio out of Nashville that's fed to everyone isn't country.
Bocephus is a Goddamn LEGEND. But I probably wouldn't go to a restaurant with him.. He says shit that would have you wanting to hide underneath a table.
He’d rush ya to eat leave the table before everyone because he has a 30$ cigar still burning outside lol but back then I reckon you could smoke in the restaurant 😂 the good ol days 🇺🇸
He is awesome and I love to hear him sing and pick 👣👣👣👣👣
What is the problem to say keep comments respect I do not ever make my bad concerns what is the heard...
Taking me down memory lane here!! We use to go out and light a bonfire. Drink some adult beverages and sing ALL of these songs with him!!!!

That second song obviously shows that you're brother is missing out on some of the best country ever wrote, ain't no denying it.

This is what "field parties" and bonfires sounded like just south of Atlanta in 1986. Georgia High School Rodeo and a bunch of trucks with dirt roads.
God bless the Williams family forever!
Hank 1,2,3. Every single one is a legend. If you never met the third, you're missing out. Looking like his grandaddy with the spirit of his daddy.
This guy could make it big someday

You know I love old Hank but personally I’m a Hank jr fan.
Just a country savage mofo.
He was just so damn good.
Still is
Nice footage.
Sure wish he still the "Bama Band" backing him !!!
Hank used to live in my hometown in the late 70s. I was buddies with Merle Kilgore's son and got to talk to Hank a few times. Really down to earth.
Roll Tide!
You gotta be from South alabama like me then. I know a lot of his kin folk. Been to there house many times
Sounds like some songs I heard before
Surprised to see these videos of him in the opry I knew he has a sour place at the opry from what they did to his dad
