Like Disney, they’re protecting their characters from being associated with stuff their VAs might say (especially little kids) so that way they can keep the charm and innocence from the characters without saying for eg “Oh fuck” in a video. Genshin Impact is the same. But it’s very cool when they do give the freedom to do so, I agree. Editing this to add, I think Nintendo did this too with Charles. I believe he could say lines from the game to the fans, but not too much outside from it.

In fact after the podcast wrapped up it was just the two of us left in the Discord call and we chat for a bit and I was telling him how fun his performance as Roche is yadda yadda yadda. At some point we say goodbye and he goes “Oh and remember…” then the call ended… I messaged him asking if the call failed and he just goes “Nah that’s how I like to end calls which just had me in hysterics. I hope to get the chance to speak with him soon cause he is so much fun both in game and in real life

First time i read it i missed the "stuffed" part in "stuffed stamp", so literally thought he gave me a keychain and an old crumpled stamp for letters.. Pissed me off, you're blowing me a kiss and handing me old trash from your pocket
I'm going to try to break down this joke. Saying you have pocket lint or trying to pay with it (as far as the US is concerned) is an expression that you are broke, poor, and cannot spare anything but pocket lint. There are old cartoons where a character tries to pay by reaching into their pockets and pulling out wrappers, pocket lint, and paper clips. In the context of this video, it can also be viewed as a complete negligent reward, like basically being paid in nothing but dust for all the effort put in, but the humor partially comes from how Vinny delivered the line with grandiosity in Roche's voice, only to present nothing but garbage as compensation.
It's just the dust/fluff from Roche's pocket and 13 gil (Final fantasy currency basically like 13 cents) No idea why the other guy gave a history lesson
Lints are just pieces of fiber that are separated from the pocket lining in your clothes. You usually reach them when there's nothing in your pocket. Get it?

God damnit the "lint and 13 gil" gave me such a nostalgia chock into watching final fantasy day care animation on newgrounds like 20 years ago and they tried to pay for their weapons with 3 bottle caps and 2 paper clips saying they caps were 1 gil and the clips were half a gil.
That's how you know a voice actor is amazing, when they're willing to just say random stuff in their character's voice. Not always the easiest thing for them to do either. Colleen O'Shaughnessey who voices Tails in the Sonic franchise can say almost anything in Tails' voice. No problem. However, she cannot under any circumstances say a certain five letter word that starts with a 'c' and ends with an 'o'. And that's a legal thing, because of copyrights.

But for me I got all 10 squads of 7th, had my line up be the unique ones rather than the foot soldiers, 2-2-1 for the bonuses they provided, it gave me all 3 star difficulty performances. I only missed one or two notes and I won. That's why there's a trophy and unique reward for winning.
