Assembling a large lion's head [wood carving] [carving]

This video shows the finishing process leading up to the completion of a large lion that is over 1.5 meters wide.
Brass fittings are used for the eyes, and the red parts are all lacquered.
It goes back and forth between many craftsmen, including metal fitting craftsmen and lacquer painting craftsmen, before finally being assembled in our workshop.
Our workshop was founded 70 years ago. We specialize in making Kaga lion heads, a traditional craft from Ishikawa Prefecture, with the techniques handed down through three generations of parents and children.
The person making the lion head in the video is Chida Seiun, the second generation,
who has specialized in making and repairing lion heads for over 40 years.
