So glad that Courtney and Mike created Spiritbox after leaving iwrestledabearonce. This is probably going to be my top album of the year. So fresh and intense! The melodies with the heaviness is perfection.

So true. I mostly instantly know if there's potential for me to really like a song, but with Spiritbox it's usually a "I don't get it, it's too chaotic but I'm intrigued" and then proceeding to listen to the song several times before getting addicted for months or maybe even years, we'll see.

Sun Killer, Hurt You, and Yellowjacket is such a great way to start the album. They all seamlessly go into each other, where it feels like an experience. Loathe’s last album had a similar experience. I usually can take and leave a lot of newer metalcore albums as a whole. But this is one I’ll probably listen to as a whole a lot more than a lot of bands.

Also, I totally forgot that Phinehas had a new album! I just listened to it and it’s number 2 right now, and I haven’t been a huge fan of Darko but I’ll check out their new album. Just historically they haven’t really done it for me, but I’ll give them a chance for sure!
Great song and stunning album. And the link between Hurt you and Yellowjacket is a thing of beauty; probably one of my favorite moments of the whole album.

The album is great and not just the same thing over and over. I think my runaway favorite so far is the surprisingly chilled out "the Summit" which comes right after this song on the album. It has a kind of "Be Quiet and Drive"-ish sort of vibe.

Dude this album freaking rules! It is soooo damn good! I love that Sam was a main feature on the song and Courtney did some great harmonies to his vocals. Very different to have your feature vocalist be the main part but very cool no less.
