    Great vid- how do you find the sizing compared to Peak 5s? No loss of efficiency?

    Thanks for this video. I would like to know if the marabou2 has better top end than the peaks, which have a narrow wind range and a very uncomfortable top end
    Thanks

      You must be talking about the larger Peaks and most likely the 4th gen. The Peak5 was more comfortable on the top end since it doesn't flap as much. The Marabou2's are like the Peak5 where they barely flap unlike the Hybrid. But also like the Peak5's the larger sizes do have a smaller range. For comparison, my M2 8m works from around 8kts to 25kts but that upper limit really is pushing it. The bar pressure remains progressive throughout the wind range so it is manageable but you'll be riding mostly bar sheeted out at the top end.

      @@adventure-logs yes, you are right I only know the 4th gen.
      Anyway Impressive range 8-25!!

    I can't wait until you do a comparison between the hybrid and this kite. I've used the peaks a bunch for snowkiting and own a Hybrid 7.5m. I just learning to hydrofoil so I'm really curious about it's relaunching ablity. I crash the kite multiple times a session. The Hybrid's relaunch is super easy and is less punchy than the peak.

      if you cash your kite a lot in water and you want a true foil kite UFOv2 and a sling shot joy stick bar you will never ever have to fuck with kite and can sit in the water for hours and it relaunches fast tampons and water don't go well together tampons are good if you never drop in water or your in to racing foils good luck in your decision

      I don’t think you’ve ever used a hybrid kite before. They can site on the water for a very long time.

      @@sauce729 yes I have let your tampon lay in the ocean for thirty minutes in rough choppy conditions or let’s make it a hour only thing you be lifting out of the water with no problem is the kite bar I give accurate tests had more foils then you ever had just making sure first time foilers know what there getting in to only good thing about tampons can carry three kites in one inflatable kite bag no pump and the drift is amazing

    Thanks for the video Jason, very handy. I'm thinking about a Marabou 2 and wondering how well they fly upwind compared to the peak 4. I find the peak 4 (13m) sits a long way back in the window and pulls sideways compared to my Naish boxers.
    In terms of size for 10-15 kts (95kg rider on 1150 surf foil), it appears the 8m is the sweet spot? Thanks Drew

    • @adventure-logs
      @adventure-logs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. The Peak4 13m is a special size, mostly gives you the ability to ride in any wind but it was extra bad at things like upwind. I never felt the 13m was very fun because of this.
      For 10-15kts, the 8m would be perfect and it rides upwind just fine. I would say the 8m will have similar upwind as your boxers. Are you using these with twintips or hydrofoils? Usefully with foils upwind is never an issue.

    • @DrewInBrissie
      @DrewInBrissie ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick reply Jason. I'm using these kites foiling. I can stay upwind on the Peak 13m, it just is much harder on the legs with the sideways pull and not much fun. It does get up foiling from about 6 kts which is good but tops out about 12kts.
      I'm sick of having so many kites just for foiling - Peak 4 13m and boxers 11, 8 and 5. Thinking maybe the Marabou 10m and 8m, or 8 and 6m will allow me to replace 4 kites with 2. The local reseller is discounting the Marabou 10m so I'm guessing it must have a very narrow wind range.
      We mostly have winds up to 20 kts so I'm thinking maybe the 10m for 6-15kts and the 8m for 10-20kts. I'd rather cover the bottom end as we get lots of light wind days and few high wind days over 20 kts.
      Maybe just the 8m and l lose a bit at the top and bottom of the range. Simple is good. I would appreciate your advice. Drew

    • @adventure-logs
      @adventure-logs  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DrewInBrissie I would buy the 8m first and then go from there. 20kts on the 8m isn't going to be the most comfortable on foil. I just got my 6m and have only a couple sessions on it but so far I'm liking it even better than the 8m. Apparently you can't get the 4m anywhere. You are correct about the 10m, it has a pretty small range.

    How's the new Marabou 6m going? Any ideas on the wind range compared the 8m? I imagine its much quicker through the air and more fun as a result.

    • @adventure-logs
      @adventure-logs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've only had two sessions on the 6m so far but I have really enjoyed it. It's basically a Peak5 6m, laying the kites over each other they are almost exact. The 6m is faster but I wouldn't say significantly faster. It's more playful as well, a really fun kite. Hoping to take it out today.

      I'm loving the 8m and 6m Marabou 2s so much they are replacing my foiling and TT kites. Now selling off my Naish Boxers, Peak 4 and Ozone Edge kites. 2 kites replacing 4. The boost of the Marabou isn't as good as the Ozone Edge for TTing but still jumps and powers along pretty well. I'm out on my 8m when others are on 14m tube kites. I can't bear to part with my Ozone Edge 11m for use in the surf in 18-25 knots, just brilliant for jumping off the swells and breaks. Thanks for your advice Jason, this has changed my whole kite quiver and made things much simpler and easier.

    Nice, I just bought a 10m for super duper light wind. What bar and line length are you using/ recommending?

    • @adventure-logs
      @adventure-logs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I recommend like a 50/55cm bar and I prefer shorter lines so use typically around 15-18m. For lighter winds, longer lines helps with the loop to get up on foil. Enjoy the 10m! I really want to get the 6m next!

    • @adventure-logs
      @adventure-logs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 420(clone) is a little more locked in, allows you to start a little easier and lets me almost stop the foil to turn and pump it some as well. Just gives more range.

    Thanks for the video, help me with the choice, I only have inflatable kites, I want to buy a parafoil, what would you recommend Marabou 2 or FLYSURFER HYBRID, for Subfoil 633 for light wind 5 knots

    • @adventure-logs
      @adventure-logs  ปีที่แล้ว

      5 knots is going to be hard and just for that low of a wind range, I would recommend the Marabou2. It has a much more powerful loop and more power per size of kite.

    Flew that kite sucks compared to the UFOv2 best part never have to play with tampon strings and will always launch after I wait for wind to come back while kite sits in water for thirty five minutes while the tampon will fill up with water even better UFO cheaper then the tampon with strings plus add a kiss bar to the UFO it’s like you don’t have a kite bar in your hand but a magical wand dictating the kite

    • @adventure-logs
      @adventure-logs  ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Ha, please show us on this doll where the bad foil kite touched you lol. Inflatables require an additional large pump which sucks for travel or when it will eventually fail and ruin your session. Takes extra time setting up and are in general aerodynamically inferior. This kite can easily sit on the water for 30 minutes and still relaunch in lighter winds because it's a lighter wing. Plus you know what they say...pumps are for chumps and it's pretty obvious you fit that description well :-)

      @@adventure-logs I don’t know about you’re talking about setting up. I set up quicker than a guy with a freaking Foil and I have had that tampon in the water 35 minutes and it filled up with water maybe flysurfer crap. Inflatable’s have problems, but I don’t deal with flyshit. I deal slingshot/ozone not one problem in seven years never had to adjust anything but the tampons I’ve had to adjust many times just giving my opinion so people would have the option to choose.
