I did the interview and it went well , the lady told me I’ve gotten through on the day and that I don’t need to worry and on the same day I got a conditional offer !! All because of your videos !! Thank you
Just want to drop you a big thank you. Just got accepted onto my PGCE primary course. Your video really helped me know what to expect and I feel like I nailed it!! So thank you! +1sub!
Hey, your chanel really help in my interviews! I was so much more confident going into them. I got accepted to Birmingham city! I hope your PGCE goes well!
Great video. Unlucky getting the maths questions, mine were two written questions. 25 mins on one and 15 mins on the other, relatively straight forward, looking for reflective learning etc.
The skills tests used to be more centralised, where you'd have to go to a registered centre which weren't connected to the training providers. When they "scrapped" it, they changed it to each individual training provider needing to make sure their candidates had the skills necessary to be a successful teacher.. That's why you'll still have to do one with individual training providers
I have a math and english test after my interview. Will this be equivalent to the skills test? Any advice on how to practice for them? I have been out of education for a very long time!
@@kabu6087 The tests after interviews are normally to ascertain your skill level and not a "pass or fail" scenario, so I wouldn't stress too much about them. Depending on when your interview is, there is a badged course on the Open University's Open Learn platform called "Succeed with Maths" and there's a "Succeed with Maths part 2" as well.. they're really good but they're pretty hefty. If you're doing primary school and don't have that much time then I'd search for old SATs papers, they can be found on the Government website and are a really useful indicator of the kind of Maths and English that is taught in schools. My English task for my interview was to read a chapter of a book that they'd given me and form an argument around whether or not I agreed with them, so it might be worth doing some academic reading around schools and education. Again though, I just think it's for them to see what level you're at, so don't worry too much, enjoy the experience 🙂. Sorry it's quite a long reply. Good luck! I hope you're successful
Thank you for this! I'm feeling much more preparerd for my interview next week. When you did the presentation via zoom, did you create a PowerPoint presentation? :)
Hi! I’m applying for the PGCE soon and was wondering how long it took from your application to getting interview dates? Thank you! Your videos are very useful👏🏾
I meant to ask, did they ask you anything about the current news today? Like mentioning of how the pandemic has had an impact on children’s education? Thank you so much 😊
Yes they did. In two interviews I had to speak about it in both English assessments and I was asked about it in an interview question from another provider. I think it's definitely something most providers are asking!
They're not the same as they used to be. So, when you interview with a provider, they have their own assessments for you to do, but generally just to guage what level you're at. The ones where if you fail them, then you can't train to teach don't exist anymore
@@zoechannel57 I think there are only two ways you can apply, through UCAS or on the government website somewhere, potentially the department of education but I haven't done that and I would imagine they're both a pretty similar process.

Hi, this video really helped me as I’ve got my first PGCE interview in two weeks! I’m really nervous and this helped, thanks so much 😊
Good luck, you'll smash it! 😊
I have just created this channel for all things to do with teaching! Your channel has inspired me 🧡
Wow! Thanks so much! 💖
Thank you for your video, I am getting ready to send my PGCE application next week for next year. I am really nervous

@@Splodgeit03 Thank you so much for all the information you have provided. I really appreciate it.
Did you get a phone call inviting you to an interview
Thank you for this! I'm feeling much more preparerd for my interview next week. When you did the presentation via zoom, did you create a PowerPoint presentation? :)
Good luck!! We were told not to use any type of presenting program e.g PowerPoint/Google Slides but this may be different with other universities! :)
@@cherscoolbeans wow, so what was used instead?
This was really helpful Thanks. Please I have a question , what were the questions (essay) they ask for the literacy skill test?
There is such a range of questions they could ask. If you search online there may be a few practice ones!

Do you know how will be the interview for international students?
hey, would i be able to apply in my 3rd year of uni or do i need to wait until i have actually gotten my final degree grade? love the video btw x
Thank you! And yes, you still can. I know a few people who have applied and got a place during their 3rd year at uni 😊
