you should hear Eric clapton's rendition it is outstanding. OK sldc ERIC who has been very very naughtiness the best rock super SUPERSTAR.👀 and the other day, and it is PRIME, but NOW that you have any other needs big actions required otherwise you're looking for the first time I heard that you have any questions or comments, or if you have to go through the gardens and your all of the above stars that was for eric clapton Derek 🃏n the dominos bottle experience with derek n dominos bottle of red wine fillmore east. OK sldc ERIC
This an ode to Widespread Panic's jams on this great JJ Cale song, and they did others. Widespread Panic Traveling Light in your youtube search bar...trust me.
real good sound, real good musicians, real good band. Original by J.J.Cale is one of my favourite songs of him. Cocaine is my second. also some very good cover versions of this one. for example by Kal-El. Tom Petty is new to me. I´m kind of falling in love with his music recently. thank you for uploading. me gusta, love it, liebe das
this is one from JJs last album so the obscureness of the title or the song might relate to his illness and love for his wife and the hardness of ROLL ON ing from this life on earth...always liked Tom Petty too...life is tough then you die...
Two chords but what can a band like this make it sound interesting. I’m a die hard Stones fan but musically they’re a more refined and free band. Almost as effortless as JJ Cale himself.
So many things I want to say about this video. First of all, thanks so much for uploading. It's magical moments like this that are captured on a cell phone. And I love love loved JJ Cale and his song writing, and when TPHB covers one of them, it's really something. But did anyone notice Mike Campbell at about 2:14 ish? He just doesn't look happy, and for a little while after that he keeps looking over at Benmont. Even Steve looks a little more serious than he usually does while playing. With that said, Mike kills it later with his short solos. Yes I analyze things to death. Such a great vid though !
This song is so lame compared to Eric Clapton's version, I do respect Mike Campbell as a great guitarist, but as to this song, Mike, take a listen to EC and do a better job man!
Just listend to ECs Version and he overplayed as always. It’s his style he’s great in it but this here is more refined free waving like JJ did. In my taste anyway.
We miss you Tom and JJ Cale.
Jj cale. Pure genius
A great version by the great Tom Petty of a great JJ Cale song.
I love this cover, Tom always loved JJ and his music.....what a treat, thank you for capturing this video!
And this is why Tom Petty is my hero. Taking an obscure JJ Cale song and making it a HUGE rock and roll number. Awesome.

Thanks for sharing.
very nace, who knew, yet another tribute to JJ Cale! Bonus at the TP concert.
British
perfect
... look at drums!
for ~1/2 he is only "on right hand and legs"!!!
It was never obscure - were you not around in the 70's
Nicely done by Tom, but the original cannot be matched
like they played it for themselves, as did Cale I suspect
Eric Rusch i think your suspects are right, this got so much soul, the most people dont get it
@@marcosgomes7681it’s when those musicians are played by the music and free enough to let go. This is such a terrific band.
