I wish I had a girl that was so excited about stuff I was doing, I completely rebuilt the engine of a vulcan 500 for my ex and she just said "that's cool" when it fired up for the first time after sitting outside for 10 years.
Beautiful!!! I found a 2002 v45 Gen 3 Magna that was sitting for eight years in a friend's garage. I replaced the battery, dumped the old gas, put in premium fuel and it cranked over and started. I ran it around a parking lot for a few minutes and flushed all the old gas out. I love it. Runs great.

I was lucky enough to find a 1983 honda shadow for just $500! I rode it that day. That was 2 years ago. I still have it. It never has been laid down. Its a candy apple red. Gorgous bike... they qre out there just have to be diligent persistent and patient. You'll find yours just cant rush it!😊❤
I remember when the magna v45 and v65 first hit the streets..oh my it was love at first sight..I've not had the opportunity to own one unfortunately but WOW they still move me after all these years !
I've always wanted a Honda Magna now that I finally have one I'm investing a lot of time into this bike to bring her back to life. hope you get your hands on a magna one day
I had an 83 V45, in the late 80s and I used to shut the fuel off and run engine after every use. After getting tired of doing the carbs nearly every year. Now that is a zipper bike and not a hog.😁 My friends used to call me Zipper, for my Japanese Harley. Now I ride Harleys. Good YOB! And you get an atta boy!
So envious of this find. I was a kid of the 80’s and worked at a bar and this one guy had the V65 and he would tell me how he had the bike going 125 mph on Rte 95 going south from Mass to Rhode Island. I have been looking on the web to see what’s out there. Best of luck.
Somehow I stumbled on the channel. You both seem very enthusiastic about the process of getting this beast up and running. Great genuine people. You got a new subscriber from the Great White North 🇨🇦.
Can't wait to hear this bad boy running right. Crazy how bad it started leaking from the gaskets, but I know it'll be a fun project for the Two Wheel Family!🏍💯
Another great deal and It was good to see the engine crank and turn on. I’m looking forward to seeing you ride it after all of the work you put into it.
Don’t ask me why I love watching you guys so much I think you just answer my question I could never get a motorcycle in my kitchen my wife would kill me and a gas can great job you’re doing something right buddy!!!
By the way guys, putting the carbs back in is more fun than taking them out lol. If you end up splitting the carbs, you may want to look at replacing the O-rings on the crossover tubes. They tend to leak and you don’t find out till the bikes running again. I think I have a video on my channel installing carburetors with ratchet straps if you need it.
thanks I actually already ordered the steel crossover tubes the carb rebuild kit just arrived today. I've done days worth of research on this bike from morning until night so I'm feeling very confident with this project. appreciate the information stay safe
Hey man that thing sounds really good. I have a sabre with 80k miles i ride every day. The ignition switch and carbs are common problem areas on those. The K &L carb kits will treat you right. I tried to get by without replacing the float needles in my bike and the oil would be broken down into black water from the fuel contamination within 500 miles.
thanks for following the magna build the new carb kit arrived yesterday so I'll have the 1st ride video uploaded soon I'm also going to replace the ignition!
The floats may be stuck. Hit em with a mallet. Spray airbox with a little starter fluid. Clean the carbs and adjust float heights to spec...The float bowl threads might be stripped and may need to to be tapped for bigger screws. I did a lot of shit on my 1977 honda cb550 cafe I built and also did a topend...it was carb hell with rejetting for pods and 2 into 4 exhaust.
My first motorcycle. Found on the side of the road, cost $400.00 plus a few parts. Lasted a month before a left turner took me out. Insurance paid out, and I had enough to buy my '82 BMW. That was thirty-one years ago. Glad to see they are holding their value. Enjoy.
Cool to see the bike running Guys. Absolutely insane that someone would try to bodge a bike in that way to get it running meaning the sealant around the carb float bowls. For the sake of a couple of £'s its just not worth cutting corners. Hot exhaust, dripping petrol = Bad times. Loving the channel btw. 🙂
Wow, major leak there. At least the outside was clean. From experience, if the gasket was red color, for Kleen-Flo brand high temp, it would have sealed. Nothing else for RTV stuff seems to work.

I bought it for $300 in 1999 and it was torn apart. Had the carbs rebuilt and synced and some misc maintenance for $400. I wasn't very mechanically inclined at the time. 😂 Loved that bike!

I’ve only worked on 2 scooters and 3 bikes. Currently have a 1988 Suzuki intruder 750 that’s a lil rough but can definitely be easily fixed with a lil time and money. It’s a very similar situation.
