They are notoriously hard starting 6.2 and 6.5 injectors timing and good glow plugs make a large difference. I used to pack spare glow plugs with me because they eat them. And they can be started with eather as long as you know what your doing for years and it won't hurt them. Use to much and it will snap your starter bolts off and eat your glow plugs. I ran this engine with a cracked piston for a couple years even they are resilient but take allot of getting used to.

Yep it's normal. Depending on the car the starting could be difficult because of glow plugs or a grid heater wearing out. Or just just tempurture

Check the harmonic balancer for cracks in the rubber. Look for severe blow by, for example, smoking, like a freight train out the oil fill cap when it’s running. Make sure the starter has the support brace on it. Check the Return lines for cracks. Throw a set of 60 G glow plugs in it and send it all the way. Never ever ever use ether on it.

One thing I forgot, if it has the electronic fuel pump on it, keep a spare PMD in the glove box. And also by yourself, the relocation harness for the PMD.

Depending on the year probobly the PMD on side of pump. U can try pooring cold water on it and if it starts that's it. I always reloacte them out of the hot spot

@@ukeacreator93 I did but I'd recommend getting the longer kit or extending it yourself to put it in the grill or fender area out of the heat and they don't fault after that still gets warm above valve cover not as bad but they are sensitive and best out of the heat

Starting fluid is a temporary fix that causes permanent damage. Pre-injection chambers are not big fans of ether
