Thanks for posting, I love the extended version! I remember in 86 my roommate in Glenwood Springs, Colorado had a family connection with EMI. She would get demos and other vinyl sent to her. This was one of my favorites, such a rarity.
Peter Gabriel's voice...so masculine! The innuendos are classics by letting the imagination take over! Unlike today's music when everything is said outright thus losing the anticipation, appeal, and mystery! One of the Best!
Peter loves Stevie Wonders Superstition. And this Sledgehammer is the best!!!!!! Sadly peter does not appreciate it. Underrated by peter himself!! WellGreat.mix great stevoe wonder tribute by peter..great song
Wow! He's a fickle guy I guess. I think this is an outstanding mix, heavy, heavy bass and hard drum track. I had an ex-girlfriend that thought this song was pretty sexy.
Sledgehammer (Dance Mix) is an official name of the remix by John 'Tokes' Potoker, released on limited 12" named Sledgehammer (Limited Edition Dance Mix). Includes tracks Don't Break This Rhythm, Biko (Twelve Inch Extended Version) and I Have The Touch ('85 Remix).
This is the official ‘Limited edition dance mix’ Remixed by John ‘Tokes’ Potoker. I have this record; also contains ‘Biko (twelve inch inch extended version)’ and ‘I Have The Touch (‘85 remix)’.

So, his worst album.....but these remixes etc are very interesting...should have gotten rid of Kate bush vocals and extended the ending, taken out big time and hear that voice again. Extended Mercy street and then gone a little from real world with Red Rain
I would say Peter Gabriel II or Us was his worst solo work, still great albums but I would rate So over both. The songs in Us were good but they were incredibly dull, when he did them live for Secret World Live they were brilliant
I think you mean "Passion". The Last Temptation of Christ was the name of the movie the soundtrack was written for. Back to So...well, I wouldn't call it his worst album. It's definitely his most accessible, but even at that it had elements of prog rock and songs that were not so radio friendly. I don't care much for his first album, except for a few tracks. I'd probably call that his weakest if I had to pick one.
The 80’s was the decade of the extended remix. I had this 12” & many more. Great time for music.
Whaat?! This wasn't remixed and extended lately..but THEN?! ..that is Tremendous. Thank you. 🎉
Truly epic, like all 12’ all the gold is in the beginning,
I used to like bringing this to a party and watching people dancing, then realize the song was going twice as long as they'd expected.
😂
Everything about this song is magic, it’s very funky and simply perfect. 😀👍
Have this 12" in my collection, 80`s had lots of great songs. This song will stand the test of time!!!!

Funny you should say that because here in Britain between 1992 and 1993, this song was used in a commercial for the Opel/Vauxhall Cavalier.
Iconic.

Genial..!!
My favorite song (Remix) for years until Steam which I consider Sledgehammer Part 2. Even the Steam video was cool like Sledgehammer
Hahaha!
Great!
very good!! :)
The very first second, what is that sound effect called, I swear it's in the rather random ewok animated cartoon series too
The flute sound?
@@tmseh Thats a flute? oh wow
awesome
The album cover, resembles the last picture taken, on the dash cam of someone, who just hit a deer.
Lol! You mean my special "door knocker"?
Unless you drive a Volvo. Those cars pass the "Moose Test".
Dug it but think it lost quite o a lot of the punch with so much reverb and delay. The chorus and revese and all were nicely placed.
super super ok

Really a lot of fun, but... is it Peter Gabriel and not Phil Collins, doesn't him ? :-)

How to make a song better.
not bad for a reproduced cheap ass gamecube unit of a gamepad. but it looks like an xbox controller gamepad.
I want to puke

His worst album? So was an amazing album
The Last Temptation of Christ, for me is his masterpiece. I mean no harm, just an opinion,
I would say Peter Gabriel II or Us was his worst solo work, still great albums but I would rate So over both. The songs in Us were good but they were incredibly dull, when he did them live for Secret World Live they were brilliant
