how am I just now hearing this remix 😳 😍😎love it and I'm not usually a fan of remixes but this adds more depth to an already song from a an amazing singer that was ahead of his time video wise .
This is one of my favorite songs, and this remix makes it all the more sweeter. My only complaint is that it’s 10 mins long, but I’m usually willing to listen to it all the way through. I would like to know what other tracks were used in this remix, such as in these time stamps... 1:10, 1:25:, 3:49, and 6:10... I probably won’t get an answer considering the rest of comments on this video, but it would be nice to know which versions in particular...
@@xXSKY64Xx The third time stamp comes from the So DNA album (only available as part of the So 25th Anniversary Box Set), for each song Peter mixed different demo stages into one (although, I really wouldn't mind, he would have released those various takes in their entire shape). The first, second and fourth time stamps are using material from a very rare remix/version of Sledgehammer, its original source remains somewhat obscure. It first appeared in 2014 on the CD compilation "Extended 80s - The Definitive 12" Collection" (Union Square Music). On it, it's labeled as "Sledgehammer (Dance Mix)", although, it's not the actual original 12'' Sledgehammer (Extended Dance Mix). - Edit.: There was an actual "Sledgehammer (Extended Version)" , but beside the extended intro (also used here), it's basically the album version, not really "extended" compared to the majority of other extended songs. - When I heard it first (2014), it sounded out of its place, the instrumentalization reminded me of those instrumentals found on the rare CD "Hit - Various Instrumentals". I became sceptical at first, the same feeling like with this obscure Sledgehammer Remix, as if those tracks were covers with their faint taste of stock music (between the late 80s and early to mid 90s), especially the guitar. Actually, though, the instrumental CD is authorized (EMI). In hintsight, it's interesting, that this instrumental CD lacked "Sledgehammer", so - maybe - this remix/version is related to the instrumentals.
Some of this sounds like it might have been taken frm the DNA disc that came with the mega super deluxe gigantic re-issue of "So". The DNA disc has demo verisons of the tracks from "So". It's really fucking awesome to hear what these songs came from, and then mixed back into it again.
Just as curious as two other posters here as to where you found those extra unheard parts. Would it be safe to say that they're from a rare session demo?
The majority of people that randomly strut in life have definitely heard this song. I randomly strut and my employees think I have a condition. They're not wrong.

I just LOVE THIS! I am curious though, which versions of Sledgehammer did you use? Especially the alternate lyrics in the hook?

Nice Drill.
Did you add additional tracks? And how do you turn down tracks to leave room for quieter and background tracks?
+Isaiah Teerink Hiya. It is based on existing versions of the song. Just playing around with them. Hope you enjoyed it.
