I love her voice so much. She hits her notes and oooh it's so scratchy good. Searched for this song for ages after hearing it on the radio as a kid. The sheer stones it must have taken for her to write this and perform it is outside of my ability to fully comprehend.

SAW A MOVIE ON AMC WITH BETTE DAVIS AND ANOTHER WELL KNOWN ACTRESS, SORRY I FORGOT HER NAME. ANYWAY ITS A THRILLER/SUSPENSE. SHE WAS PROBABLY IN HER 70'S AND IT WAS A VERY GOOD MOVIE. OH THE NAME OF THE MOVIE IS WHAT HAPPENED TO BABY JANE. I RECOMMEND IT. ESPECIALLY TO CLASSIC MOVIE BUFFS. I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY IT!
true!! I'm a fan of the 60's and 70's but true that in the 80's they did some of the best ever.. this one is part of it! maybe it's also because we were in our teens (were you?) in those 80's.. as sbdy said below, life was simple then!! (for most of us I guess..)
I absolutely loved this song as a 7 year old in 1981 and while in El Salvador. This is absolutely one of the very best tracks of the 1980’s!! No doubt about that!! but I will say the radio edit is better as it’s the one I grew up on
When this came out my dad would jam out to it. I was probably 4 years old at the time and couldn’t wait for him to play this song. This is still one of the best songs ever.
Yai hear ya I'm 55 already! This life what ever it is, is so so short!! All our great actors are almost gone already, one day we're young then we're old then gone *
An old movie came on TV with Bette Davis the other day. Mom came in the living room and started singing this. I was born a couple years after this came out. Mom asked if I knew this song. Of course!
Reading all these comments about events, periods and feelings that are linked to this song comforts me to say that the 80s had some of the greatest hits ever.
The only songs from any given past decade that we remember now are the good ones like this. There was a *lot* of dross produced in the 80s, just like any other decade. Despite some really good exceptions, though, and for my money, the 80s wasn't a good decade for music overall. Music became gutless and pretentious. The typical 80s band relied on members in glammed up outfits, ludicrous hairstyles and make-up, who were devoid of any skill in singing or playing their instruments, pressing buttons on synthesizers and drum machines now and then.
Tim Murphy I’m 64 and showing my kids real music like this. My daughter took part in a Queen production in year 6. Her teacher was gobsmacked that she knows all the tracks and all the words.
I am Pantsula John Mpotoane from South Africa. I remember in the 1980's very early this was one of my first song to know about pop music. This is rocker for ever. She will snoze you Bette Davis eyes
My then next door neighbour herd me playing this song and asked what it was, she had wondered for years. We’ve been together for 16yrs this October thanks Kim
I keep coming to this extended mix. The music, lyrics and Kim's raspy voice is perfection. It takes me to an incredible place, where my favorite actress ever is very well described as the bad ass strong woman she was. What an awesome tribute to BD. This is definitely none other than Bette Davis: She's precocious, and she knows just what it Takes to make a pro blush All the boys think she's a spy, she's got Bette Davis eyes.
I miss waking up in Colorado... thinking of happy Momma moments singing that to my kiddo, Ryan Keegan!!! You are awesome and amazing. I wouldn't have traded those amazing memories and amazing people for anything!!! Know how much I love you Ryan Keegan. God Bless Colorado 😘👍😎☘️

The sound of 80's music gives me a very specific feeling of memories and nostalgia, and a lot of love.
I was born in 1996....
epic decade, 80s
Me too, born 1999.
90s baby here, I’ve always felt the same way!
I was born 88 loved growing up in the 90s early 00's but I'd love just to experience the 80's for atleast a month for full experience 🤣❤
Just a kid back then but man it seems like it was a magical time
This song was in such constant rotation on the radio during the early to mid 80s and it never got old. What a great song.
Good song but bette davis had the most vile eyes a horrible woman
July 17 2024. This track is still spot on! Awesome mix.
No hay nada mejor que encender tu equipo y poner estas joyas
I love this extended version the best because the other version is too short! Can't get enough of the song

People will dance and listen to this in 100 years, that is how brilliant this song is and Kim's voice absolutely mesmerizing .
I agree absolutely!!!! I love Kim’s voice❤️
This will stay forever
my sister almost died from cocaine and that is the she you total idiots and almost killed this singer.
Hahahah
This track makes me so nostalgic, even though I wasn't alive when it came out. Love the melody and beat
This song makes me feel so nostalgic and happy at the same time. I would like back to time and able to live in 80's.
Totally Palm Springs
Create 80th around you
Yesss 80's style
I remember riding to school in my moms corvette listening to this song in the morning, she would sing it all the way there, a beautiful memory as an 80s kid.
Damn, your mom drove a Corvette ?, my mom took the bus.
My mom drove the bus.
Respect! Our mothers give us power to move forward in life. Rejoice.
I was 8 yrs old in 1981 i remember this song like it was just yesterday maaan 40 yrs later where did they go
Lol….nice ride back then and now!
Demais, amo essa música!! Nasci no ano que estourou essa música. Década de 80 é a melhor, não se fazem mais músicas de qualidade hoje em dia.
Ola melissa boa tarde te saudo do peru espero te conhecer pra ten una linda amizade
Naquela epoca a o mesmo tempo em que se desfez muitas variedades e melodias romanticas e rock pop tambem
Se popularizaran
I'm so sorry for your loss. May Our Heavenly Father bless you and comfort you and help you through this trial
Good rollerskating song! I remember being a kid jamming to this at the rink. Dr. Pepper lipsmacker lip balm clipped to my belt. Pink satin jacket to match my skates with pink wheels...radical. Best of times.
I literally just visioned you skating past me in my blue and black parachute pants lol . Well back to 420 and recall the good times hour now that the little ones are all in bed 😉
Funny - it is an ice skating song for me. Great memories!
Such a brilliant song. Atmospheric, evocative, melodic. Superb.
I love her voice so much. She hits her notes and oooh it's so scratchy good. Searched for this song for ages after hearing it on the radio as a kid. The sheer stones it must have taken for her to write this and perform it is outside of my ability to fully comprehend.
Scratchy Good?...Excellent description
@@jc4evur661 I actually stole it from Bowie. I can't remember which song it was, but in one of them he calls something "shitty good" and it stuck with me. Some of the finest things in life are shitty good.
Your comment was crappy awesome...thanks for sharing! Lol@@rivercitymud
Incrivel
Remembering 1981, the first time to join Mashare Agricultural College, and the weekend, all friends went but I remained and the only friend was the radio. Ah, since then even now still hearing it as it is.
Sim , eu sou da mesma geraçao , 15 anos nesse tempo , 1981 .
Essa musica faze me chorrar
Rapaz sinto muito, meus pais gostam bastante de musica antiga tbm mas por incrível que pareça gosto mais que eles kkkk
I’m still loving this song 🎵
Never gets boring
2022
First heard it in the 90.s
Fell in love 🥰 with it
I was only 9 years old when this came out, but man it takes me back! Funny how good music can make you remember everything...your friends, the street you lived on, school, family....
yes totally]
Good memories the best of the best
THROW YOU, LIKE YOU WERE "DICE"!
SAW A MOVIE ON AMC WITH BETTE DAVIS AND ANOTHER WELL KNOWN ACTRESS, SORRY I FORGOT HER NAME. ANYWAY ITS A THRILLER/SUSPENSE. SHE WAS PROBABLY IN HER 70'S AND IT WAS A VERY GOOD MOVIE.
OH THE NAME OF THE MOVIE IS
WHAT HAPPENED TO BABY JANE.
I RECOMMEND IT. ESPECIALLY TO
CLASSIC MOVIE BUFFS. I KNOW
YOU WILL ENJOY IT!
I was born 9 year after it was made and live it
Classic! I remember hearing this song for the first time in 1982 as a 12 yr. Old. It never gets old….timeless
Same here
There's something so wholesome about 80's music not found in music from other decades.
true!! I'm a fan of the 60's and 70's but true that in the 80's they did some of the best ever.. this one is part of it! maybe it's also because we were in our teens (were you?) in those 80's.. as sbdy said below, life was simple then!! (for most of us I guess..)
This song isn't as wholesome as it seems 😆
The blue balls reference is especially wholesome.
the 80's took The beat from the 60's ND 70'S AND PUT IT ALL TOGETHER...
The 80's was the best of everything. So happy to have the experience.
Same here...I want to go back :)

This is one of the best songs ever come across, I really don’t know why I know it now. Both listening pleasure and danceable. Still dancing
I absolutely loved this song as a 7 year old in 1981 and while in El Salvador. This is absolutely one of the very best tracks of the 1980’s!! No doubt about that!! but I will say the radio edit is better as it’s the one I grew up on
One of the best tracks of the 80s in 1981, one has to ask, did it get better?
How El Salvador doin bro? Great country! Lovely people!
Q vive El Salvador , my parents were born there I was born in south central LA . 🇸🇻🤍
C'mon everybody sing along it's so coutagagius! Great song ...
This is one of my " go to, " songs when I need a pick me up. Love the lyrics and the beat is so hard to resist!
the words mean nothing to me. I dont even like them but the song is still addictive
Me too! Always gets my mood up!
I CAN DIE NOW!! HAVEN'T HEARD THIS IN 20 YEARS! HOW BEAUTIFUL!!
Yes, it's timeless
Kim nails it. The intensity of her vocals is only matched by Bette’s eyes. Supreme actress. She delivered intensity.
She was a horrible woman eyes stuck out like dogs nuts
Sheet tease you and throw crumbs at you.
This song hits you like old wine, eternal great 👍
Very god
Anos 80 fantástico, ouvi muitas
Vezes esta música nas discotecas
Kim Carnes tem uma voz única
Ainda hoje ouço esta música
Look up Berlin, Pat Benatar, Blondie, Joan Jett,
one of my all time favorites. great long version of billboard's #1 song of 1981. never did get tired of this. fantastic. thanks
Awesome song by an amazing vocalist... Kim should have put more songs out than she did! Awesome video.. love the music. Lyrics too!!!♥️
amo esta música, que orgullo ser de los 80s y los 90s con los mejores temas musicales!!! ahora todo es perreo o reggaeton con asquerosas letras.
When this came out my dad would jam out to it. I was probably 4 years old at the time and couldn’t wait for him to play this song. This is still one of the best songs ever.
A hit on the radio when I was a young man, where did the time go, great emotionally charged song.
🕊🌟🕊
This is
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

Essa batida e essa voz rouca, ficaram pra eternidade! Inesquecível!!

Wish we could trade places....I'm in my late 20s
Yai hear ya I'm 55 already! This life what ever it is, is so so short!! All our great actors are almost gone already, one day we're young then we're old then gone *
You have excellent taste in music!! 😉👍

I arrived in Canada in 1982 as a new immigrant from the UK. This was my anthem. 36 yrs later it is still very special.
I'm still in the UK. I wish I'd had the balls to leave 36 years ago too. ☺
Simplesmente maravilhosa, ñ me canso de ouvir...Quem aí em 2022? Show...😍😍😍
Was there in 1981,still here. Timeless classic. 👍😁🍺

Just read a comment about rejoicing in your youth. F that, rejoice in your life. I'm still kicking it, having a great time at 55.
Tim Murphy amen!
Goals!
✌✌✌✌
The best song in 1981-2024 this was the first music video I saw on TV.

This is definitely none other than Bette Davis:
She's precocious, and she knows just what it
Takes to make a pro blush
All the boys think she's a spy, she's got Bette Davis eyes.
I love this song. This is extended version is terrific!!!!!! Absolutely amazing!!!!
An absolute classic from my time working behind the Bar in the 80s just a brilliant song. Timeless just Brilliant.
I'd nearly forgotten just how BRILLIANT KIM &this song is its GREAT to hear it again .
she is an angel obviously
thankfully
I miss waking up in Colorado... thinking of happy Momma moments singing that to my kiddo, Ryan Keegan!!! You are awesome and amazing. I wouldn't have traded those amazing memories and amazing people for anything!!! Know how much I love you Ryan Keegan. God Bless Colorado 😘👍😎☘️
I was born too many years after this song. I think the 80's music is the best. Bette Davis Eyes is Melodic, pure, gently. I feel good when i listen this song. God bless 80's years!
I keep saying it and will keep saying it, 80's was the best decade
