      No regrets at all. It’s one of those colors that grows on you I’d say. Bright beautiful blue metallic in the sun, and a dark blue-ish purple at dusk. I also like that it’s not super attention grabby like cyber gray or perf. blue, keeps you a little more under the radar.

    The N cars are already lowered from their non-N counterparts. They are very well setup right from the factory, including the wheel stance IMHO. Definitely get a catch can. They are allowed by Hyundai so no warranty issues. I have a custom Saikou-Michi can on my Veloster N. Slightly stiffer rear motor mount bushings are also helpful. Thought I have it's little sister, I do love the Elantra N and think that Hyundai has totally knocked this one out of the park.

    I went from a 2019 Camry XSE V6 in the white body/black roof/red interior color combo (changed to TSW Sebring wheels in matte black) to a white DTC Electra N. I liked those wheels due to them having a nicer profile (the N's wheels seem a bit similar to the Camry's IMO as they're both flat in appearance and don't have a slight "bulge/roll" like the TSW's) and the black looked really good with that color combination. I may swap the N's for the Sebrings along with adding ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tires since Summer tires don't work all year round here in Seattle. Might keep one original tire/wheel as a full-size spare just in case.
    The idea of wrapping the roof in gloss black to match the Camry intrigues me so I need to find out how durable the wrap is and can it handle an occasional run through the car wash during the winter when a quick wash is needed. Definitely doing a 20% window tint though along with deleting the back lettering and the big "N".
    A question, are the ceramic treatments really worth the cost? I'm just not sure. My gut says it's nothing more than an expensive wax but I know that's not correct. I need some more info on that.
    Anyway, thanks for posting. I appreciate time and effort it takes and look forward to future videos.

    • @ENtense
      @ENtense  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate the recommendations, I’ve heard others recommend those tires as well. As far as Ceramic coatings go, I think they’re worth it if you’re serious about keeping you car clean and protected if you plan on keep the vehicle for a while. Expensive, but worth it. Thanks for the support!

    💯 on the mods you won’t do. I’m definitely on the same page with you on skipping those. I just ordered the Alcantara armrest from Shark Racing. It was the cheapest price I found ($139 with free shipping) and it’s already in the US. It will be here on Monday and I ordered it a few days ago, so insanely fast shipping coming from Korea! And I also will only do the armrest, not the shift knob/boot or e-brake handle. They’ll get too much wear. I love the black roof idea. I’m likely going to do that and wrap the red accents someday. The catch can is also on my list. I can’t decide between the SXTH or Boomba Stage 2, or even a universal one. But whatever you decide it is nice insurance to help keep the intake clean.

    I’m about to install my SXTH MM this weekend and would recommend it on any EN. Shouldn’t conflict with any warranty concerns. The roof wrap to black is something I did but with a gloss black ppf and I luv it, 10 yr warranty on it STEK brand. I’m actually all about a carbon hood, but 95% for the weight saving issue and rest looks. I won’t likely do it tho since my hood just got ppf n so not interested in paying to redo that. I imagine a new wheel set up would truly be a main consideration next since you’ll be flooded with options, fitment and costs. Would be very interested in your wheel/tire journey should it be a real goal. I’m with ya on engine/performance mods, it’s bit early still but I’m sure the ek1 pro is pretty legit from what we’re seeing posted.
    If the Elantra N is to have a healthy and vibrant aftermarket, owners need to make purchases now and keep it up on all fronts. I just hope the slimy, garbage parts manufacturers keep it to a minimum and not flood it with cheap gimmicky and flashy bs. Since you’re a DCT, I can’t suggest it but I’m also curious where the first Boomba short shifter/adapter/bushings full install will pop up. I wanna def save for that setup. Also, regarding the interior, are you at all looking at the awesome SoCal Garageworks CF/Forged Carbon steering wheel options? Another must-buy in my book. Pricey, but I’m sure worth it! Lastly, audio upgrades…I don’t believe you’ve mentioned it but not sure. Dunno if it holds much interest to do any, but, I’d watch fersher to see what audio improvements you’d make.
    Great stuff B, I can’t imagine how many directions you’ll get pulled in on this one. Good luck my man!! We’re always here!✌🏽🤙🏽

      I just want it all! Lol. If my fiancée wasn’t there to help contain my ability to spend money then I’d have it all already I swear. However the wheels are something I need to start doing more research on for sure, and I’ll very likely share my experience and ask for everyone’s opinion and such before I buy. Also to mention for audio, while I don’t think it’s anywhere near top notch audio, I’m satisfied with it, as I rarely have it up that high anyways.
      Thank you as always Jasen 🙏🏻

    Alcantara arm rest and SXTH catch can! Was my first mod on my Elantra N. The can will keep your DI engine much cleaner, and not rob you of performance down the road. The Alc. arm rest is on my wish list. Like you I swore not to get the SXTH intake, but for $300, the open intake sounds SO good so it's the maybe pile if I have extra cash. Turbo whisles, whoosh and all that.

    I drive a 2022 Elantra limited, as much as I wanted an N down in Florida they are asking a bit too much over sticker so hopefully in the next two years I’ll be able to pay off my current one and get an N eventually 🤝🏼

  • @Daveyboy_RS3
    @Daveyboy_RS3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The one thing I do like about the N cars is for the most part, they come right out of the box ready to go and even track without any modifying except maybe a few minor things. but I know you're not going to be living at the track and this is a daily driver for you so that's what's so great about the car.
    obviously the lower motor mount to get rid of wheel hop during hard acceleration, especially from a dig or mashing it when slowly rolling.. I've seen people doing that and the wheel hop is absolutely atrocious. sounds like the car is going to break apart BANG BANG BANG BANG.
    I'm aware that the lower motor mounts are notorious for causing nvh, but I've seen some videos of people who have installed them on their EN DCT, and couldn't be happier. they've shown videos of before and after, and it's like night and day. with the motor mount installed.. the car launches so smoothly with just a tiny bit of wheel spin which is obvious with almost 300 HP, but none of that banging wheel hop. it really mitigates the wheel hop to the point where it's pretty much gone and in the videos, they state that the vibration or excess noise is mildly noticeable at first, and after a few days it's like it's not even there. I guess if you don't have any trouble with wheel hop then just disregard what I just wrote.
    also the one thing I really like about the car is how it already sits pretty low, and what I mean by that is there is very little space between the top of the tire and the wheel well.... and most people hate that big space between the top of the tire and the wheel well and that's the reason for lowering the car, but you could probably only fit one finger between the tire and the wheel well which is how my car is sitting right now and it's got H&R lowering springs on it so your car is already sitting perfectly, so definitely good call on keeping the stock ride height.
    in terms of aesthetic mods I've always told myself that if I got the EN DCT, if I were to do any aesthetic mods it would be tints, and depending on the color of the car, a black roof wrap would be nice, and then blacking out the wheels would be real sick with the black roof wrap.
    but the fact that the wheels are so damn flat is something that truly irritates me. never seen a flatter wheel then this thing. if only we got the stock wheels that they have in Europe then that would be awesome. but we don't get a lot of stuff including a lot of their great cars from over there either (GR Yaris 😭)
    I love the fact that they have the PS4s on them and if you're looking for a cost-effective way to make the car look really nice then I'm all for the powder coating the wheels black with the black roof wrap.
    and I agree, no front splitter. it'll just break, and the front is already pretty busy and it has its own lower front lip, basically. Not necessary in my opinion
    if if you like the style of the wheels then then go ahead and absolutely do the black powder coat with the black roof wrap. Especially you've already got those black emblems that you just did, and those would be necessary, and it would all match up real nice with that blue paint.
    I actually powder coated the BBS wheels that I put on my Golf R in Black and I will warn you in advance that there are dozens and I mean dozens upon dozens of blacks that they will show you, from very matte it's a very glossy, and everything between. they have like a book in most places with little squares of what the finish looks like and there are a lot of blacks so just a little heads up that it's not just going to be do you want matte black or do you want gloss black?
    LOL you're going to have a whole lot of blacks to choose from, so just make sure you take your time and pick out the right black finishes for your wheels and your roof wrap so they contrast nicely.
    all right good luck brother

    • @ENtense
      @ENtense  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always appreciate your detailed feedback, thank you. I do agree with the rear motor mount being very helpful with wheel hop from what I’ve seen and heard, however it just doesn’t seem like something I need unless I end up going to the track more often.
      And as far as the black goes for the wheels, I think I’d prefer a satin or matte if I had a choice.

    • @Daveyboy_RS3
      @Daveyboy_RS3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ENtense well that's what I was saying is when you go to your powder coat shop of choice. They're not just going to have satin or matte. They're going to have 30 or 40 different kinds of blacks. Maybe less but at least a dozen with all kinds of names. It makes it very difficult to choose is all I'm saying LOL. But yeah I'd say going towards a more satin or matte or even matte polished finish would look better than then gloss. However they go from one side of the spectrum to the other so in their book or their samples that they show you they'll start from the most matte which is like a really flat black. And each one gets a little more gloss in it till you get to the glossiest. I wouldn't personally do the most flat matte black because then it's just looks like it's unpainted. Anyway once you see the samples you'll find the one you love.
      Anyway I hope you do get it done cuz it'll make a huge difference for very little cost, compared to getting new lightweight Wheels.

    One thing to consider if you do the armrest it shines an even brighter light on the e-brake handle and shiftknob/boot not being done. I chose the Alcantera triplets because it ties into the seats and door panels and has matching material on 3 pieces in a row centered in the middle 😇💡💯

    If you do the wheels black then do the roof also . I agree the stock wheels look great so I personally would not go aftermarket. Keep the ride height stock also. I would do the armrest for sure because my Elantra N's armrest is showing minor signs of discoloration and when I can afford it I'll probably spring for the alcantara, I'm not so worried about the other alcantara bits. I did the catch can from ADD and I can tell you it's a quality system, however, I would not do it again because the hose that is supplied is thick wall and it makes routing challenging . They need to include some right angle connections to make it right . I can't speak for the others though . My Elantra is staying pretty much stock and it will stay that way because I think Hyundai got it right , out of the box.
    I have been meaning to tell you you that I did get the fast one though ( Cyber Gray ). :)

    I was going to say catch can, but you already hit that one; I'm starting to think 6xth Element wasn't fully prepared for the demand. The Alcantara pieces would look nice, but I know my family too well; they'll destroy them in no time. Honestly worry about the fit of the hood struts, but not worried about doing any work myself for a number of years. At this point, getting a professional ceramic coating with 5 year warranty, and need to find winter tires and rims that fit the car to go through pothole season.
    One thing I'm considering is changing out the piano black pieces in the interior. Detailed it the other day, and every piece had to be delicately polished. The floor mats fit great, by the way!
