Thanks for your Videos about the Dalay Barracks Doug. I am a German from Bad Kissingen and my Uncle was working for the US Army in the Butcher Shop / Commissary. I like the old Pictures and Videos about the Barracks. Often i miss the old Times here in BK with the Soldiers and something. Now it is not the same and when i walk around in this Area i ever think about the good Time with Friends from the US Army. It was a real great Time. ;)
Hello Doug my name is John Jarrell & I was stationed there from Jan 1989 to September 1990. I was in Section 4 of Alpha Battery 2/41 field artillery & I remember the few times we went to the training area off base for routine drills on our 109 self propelled howitzers but only time we did any live firing was when we went to Graf & Wildflicken which was twice a year but you guys (2/11 Calvary) were in the field doing live firing way more than us. I also remembered that our unit was one of the first to be deployed to Saudi Arabia for the gulf war to. I started off as advance party but worked my way up to Ammo Team chief in which I drove the Ammo vehicle (Cat V) & was in charge of preparing the rounds, fuses, charge bags (Green & White) & primers for the fire missions. I loved being a Marne land Solider & during my off time i played flag football & basketball for my company team (The Alpha Gators) & I also volunteered at the YA (Youth Activities) as a baseball basketball & soccer coach. Thanks so much for posting this these pics brought back wonderful memories.
My Daddy and family were there in 1984-1985 1st Seargent Greg McKEE. It really was a wonderful and beautiful place to be stationed at. The German economy and people were quite friendly to us. Thaks for posting this. Great Memories. And Thank You for serving our Country. Without you, we could not have the freedoms that we do. Thank you.
I recall the 21-round artillery salute for Gen Omar Bradley’s passing away in ‘81. My first duty station, detachment from 703rd Maint. 3rd Herd! Good times!!

Headquarters 94B 2/11 ACR 84/86. Also assigned to Camp Lee on the border for half of my tour. Reforger, Wildflicken, Graf, etc. Tallied well over 200 days of field duty 1st year in sub-freezing Black Forest and such. Hell! We even had our own Eaglehorse beer. Hated much of then, but sad to see it is all gone except the mess hall, my old stomping ground. "MKTs, M-16s, and Mermite cans were how I spent most of my days - with little godammn sleep." Thanks for sharing, brother!
Alfreda66 Copy all that brother ! We had those old m-2 burner units and gas drip fule heaters ! Those things were dangerous ! 94-b-10 most of my time in the field as well ! Still had great time off duty ! I still love Germany and thankfull for that opportunity !!" ALLONS" 4/10/18 SPOKANE WA !!! 81/83 !

Thanks for uploading this. 2/11 ACR Headquarters was my unit and my barracks in the mid 80's. I was also permanently assigned to Camp Lee. Hard to believe that it is almost all gone. The last photograph I saw online where I lived at the Border Camp is rubble's with only a honorary plaque and a CO parking block remaining.
I was stationed in BK 83-85 too? 212MP with Doug Harris. I didn't realize how much fun I had until I left. I went back with Doug on one of his visits in 2007 to find Wienerwald, among many other shops in the city all gone. The Greek restaurant which had not been open long, celebrating 25th year of business. I am sure Doug spelled the Apollo Club wrong but when we got in the Taxi after a few drinks in the city, Apollo Club always worked. I have many pics from the other side of town by the Officer Club and will post. What a beautiful little town.

I was C-Btry 2/41 FA 84-85. I was in the barbershop one day, & shaky Jake had a customer (soldier) complain and raise a little spat. After the customer left, Jake called the next number and no one got up. The other barbers said they would not cut the hair of any one who refused to be Jake's next customer. About 2-4 guys walked out, and I had the next number. (Now, Jake had cut some not so straight lines on me before, but it really wasn't that bad). So, I let him cut my hair. He held the mirror up so that I could see, while I was checking my hair, the other 2 barbers were watching for my reaction. I said it was good, paid Jake and even gave him a larger than normal tip. He was greatly appreciative. The other barbers both smiled real big & nodded their heads. From that day on, I never received a crooked hair line cut from Jake again when he cut my hair. And, I was always greeted with a real friendly hello, smile & customer service from all three barbers every time I got my hair cut after that.
Would Like to thank Everyone in 2/41 FA.!! That you Guys watched out fore each other! That came home after the Gulf WAR in Saudi!!! My Dad was SFC. Fraley!

So donˋt let the hand go

Cause its all about love!
