Bklaw was here. Retired & left BK end of August 1991. Thanks for filming and posting these memories. I will cherish this film. Thanks for posting Doug!
Thanks. I'm a Army Vet - I lived in the Headquarters 2/11 ACR barracks in the mid 80's, and was also permanently assigned to Camp Lee. Amazingly, my first year in Germany, I calculated that I spent at least 260 odd days in the field...Reforger and all the rest. When I was there, homesick, I was having USA dreams. But now that I see both places are merely ancient Army relics, I must say that I am quite sad. I have few pictures of my duty there, so this video is a great treat. Great Memories! Tx
Thanks so much for posting this! 1990 was the year I got there and became part of the 2nd plt. H Co, 2/11. I was still only 17 and turned 18 in the field. What a wave of emotion and memory this brings!
Wow, really enjoyed the video! I was at Daley Barracks August 63 to August 66, I was Artillery Forward Observer. The Cav Unit was across the Parade field from us. Loved Germany, my best friends in life I made at Daley Barracks. Cannot help but cry when I see the video because I whole heartedly miss that time in my life. God Bless all you folks!!
Thanks for your service! I know when I was at Daley, our FOs were most likely to hit the blotter. A crazy bunch, but I loved them all, (well, maybe one guy not so much} Blackhorse,89-91!

But when we made that left turn off of Ostring back into Daley (the wash rack just outside town wasn't done yet) we were sending the wooden cobblestones from that intersection all over the place. And of course, the "maneuver damage" guy was right there with his note book and calculator!!!
When did Daley actually close down? I was in the temp housing in BK in July 1998. Everything was gone by then. Not even a commissary that I recall. We were waiting on housing in Schweinfurt.
