Well, I think Scarlet has made her point: Zerg air is broken, but everybody - besides Blizzard - already knew that. Perhaps Scarlet felt it was necessary to provide Blizzard with some direct evidence.
What Zerg needs is an upgrade to the mutalisk that stops the bounce of their glave so that instead of dealing 9, 8, and then 7, it just deals 24 damage to one target. Or give Zerg a speed upgrade for the mutalisks.

As someone who REALLY struggles against Mutalisk cheese, watching these videos was both educational and SO very satisfying.
Scarlet is the only one who sometimes goes back to that style, I will always remember tust one game vs Bomber...

Crazy last game, didn't expect a base race at all, surprised Scarlett tried for one. I remember back in the day, mutas were NUTS. I went gold league easily simply rushing mutas, it threw people off so much. I am a wood league player, but mutas in large groups with their bounces mowed things down entirely too well
No static defenses on the zerg side of the map was the primary missplay. There were so many photon cannons and shield batteries to remind her too.

Most Scarlett games feel like she's stuck with strategies from 5 years ago
No hate but some are WoL strategies, anyway she's a good player and maybe some new strategies would make her far more fierce than she's now

You clarified Ice Hokey rather than Field Hockey; Is that referring to Lacrosse perchance, or even yet another game??

I can't say I'm too familiar with it myself but I can give a basic description.
Lacrosse it 2 teams running around with sticks that have nets, and passing the ball from the nets to eachother.
Otherwise roughly the same and just as violent in Canada at least XD
(Someone can correct me if I'm wrong of course)
EDIT: Just looked it up, they're different sports that share a lot of similarities.
Field hockey is a different sport. It's sort of similar to ice hockey, but the main difference is that it's played on grass. Also, the sticks are shaped a bit differently, and also used slightly differently. It's played with a round ball, not with a puck. And players wear a lot less padding.
Lacrosse is completely different. The sticks don't have blades, they have nets to catch the ball with.
Lacrosse is officially (as declared in law) the national summer sport of Canada. Ice hockey is the national winter sport of Canada, but definitely first in Canadians' hearts

Protoss seems more versatile in defence and attack than I can remember. Maybe Scarlett could have gone for different kinds of queen march (Seoul stroll, German taxi, Warsaw(?) subway) in all the games, but Astrea might have had a counter. It's not just Showtime who can defend everything and then counterattack with overwhelming force.
Lowko I just started watching this video but I saw something that bugs me. when you panned over Astrea's base, I couldn't help but notice that the shadow that was cast by the escaping gas from the vespene geyser was green. I cant stop noticing it now please tell me someone else has noticed.

I think Scarlett had the right answer to the stargate opener in the first game it punshes that opener from the protoss
I'm american, but I look forward to Scarlett games more than Astrea games. Scarlett doesn't usually cheese, but she's always trying some zany new startegy that is SO cool to watch. I think Scarlett is still underrated for her creativity with zerg.

Weird game 2 and 3... Scarlett committed to heavy Mutalisks with upgrades, Astrea mass produced Phoenix with range and Scarlett just kept suiciding droves of expensive Mutas for very unfavorable trades
I dont play I only watch them play through casters, so take this with a grain of salt. I understand oricles have limited energy to attack with, but once the zerg over commit with queens and spores why dont they start killing hte free lings before zerg is able to push? it's still minerals and larva you're taking from them, but i always see them try to force in the oracles just do do nothing in the early game or die in matches like these. I'm not saying they are wrong, it's just something I'm failing to understand.

6 bases, gas-intensive mutas, a slow protoss ground army -
would a couple of spine crawlers for base defense not have worked?
or did the mutas simply take too much APM to afford the split attention?
Spines would have helped but the main thing is that Scarlett didn't do enough damage with her mutas before phoenixes were out. You basically have to end the game with mutas by either destroying their economy while you have a bank to remax on another unit or just picking off their army so they never form a death ball. Scarlett was spending all her money replacing her mutas she couldn't get enough economy up.
@@userasdf interesting - lowko mentions at 39:04 that in the old days muta players would "build a spine crawler forest back home so protoss couldn't really engage", which I'm surprised 6 bases wasn't sufficient to support. Even if it only slowed down but didn't entirely stop Protoss aggression, one would think that would suffice to win a base race
oh wait, I guess despite the number of bases, her actual worker count never exceeded her opponent's by much. that explains it

I think the pheonix are just too good against mutas if you can kill infinite with proper micro. Adding corruptors and queen march to zone them didnt work either.

Every time i see how protoss wins its just so overwhelming and even when they're defending its just.. ugh.
Phoenix is just a stupid unit why should protoss get a complete hard counter to air when muta can cost efficiently be countered by a couple of cannons and a few stalkers or literally one archon. It's not like protoss doesn't have an answer

The colour is magenta. The problem is their lack of vocabulary.
That's not actually true. Due to two of the three pigments being on the X chromosome (which females have two copies of), females are far less likely to be colorblind, and can rarely have mutated pigment genes making them tetrachromatic rather than trichromatic. But a normal female does not perceive colors better than a normal male.
