Greetings from Orlando, FL and I can’t wait to see Brightline to upgrade their fleets into 5 coaches later this year, and eventually 6 coaches in the following year!
Originally BL was saying they'd get delivery of 5 cars mid-summer (another 5 end of year, and 5 next year). Midsummer has come and gone. Looking at this video, delivery in the near future doesn't look promising. I'm thinking end of the year now for the original 5... maybe. I don't think the new Siemens plant in NC (opening in 2025) will help Brightline deliveries until they order more for the Orlando-Tampa segment (5 or more years from now)?
This is in Sacramento California. Google Maps has added a "Florin" to the area where this factory is and that is confusing people into thinking that Florin is a different city, it's not. Florin is a neighborhood area in Sacramento and not a city. If you look up the address for Siemens Mobility, you'll see that it is listed as Sacramento.
@@johncrest-r6n I'm not sure what you are saying. I can't tell if you are agreeing or disagreeing. I'd also like to point out that Oakland is a city and Florin is not a city. Florin is an area within a city, an area within Sacramento.
@@peterfrank29 Last I heard they would be shipping after the next VIA set, which left a couple days ago. Apparently they'll be leaving without any decals/wrapping as well, likely to get them out sooner to clear up space.
Lessee, Siemens is building a second plant in right to work employment at will North Carolina because the Sacramento plant cannot keep up with demand and backlog.
When the Amtrak Airo order was still being battled…er…negotiated, it was understood a second facility would be needed since Sac was swamped as it was. The question is, what degree of work will be done in NC? Sac has two robot production lines for the Venture shells. Will raw shells be sent east for assembly and testing? Move or build another robot line in NC? We shall see.
@@maestromecanico597 The North Carolina facility isn’t just for storage or assembly of Sac rolling stock. It’s a full on secondary facility with more production lines. Additionally, it will serve as a maintenance and overhaul facility which the Sacramento location does not offer. My guess is Airo work will be divided between the two facilities, though NC may take more of the work to take pressure off of Cali.

Heard their plans were for 7 car consists including a Cafe car.
@@centredoorplugsthornton4112The food service car was scratched before revenue service began.

@@centredoorplugsthornton4112 That was dropped before revenue started. Snack carts are far more effective for short runs like Brightline.
I like the update videos. Can you leave the text up for a second or two longer for us slow readers please?

Bro liked his own comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@east_carolina_rail_photosNo he didn’t! We don’t know who actually gave it a like and for you to assume that it was him is rude and disrespectful!
thats like saying oakland is part of san francisco cause it's in the list of san francisco's metro

The Cascades airo cars are better than the talgo ones
Words cannot describe how excited I am to see these cars on the Cascades
A car from 1922 is better than that Talgo crap.
The only reason WashDOT and ODOT were able to create a viable corridor was due to the investments made by Talgo.
How can you say that when they aren’t even in use yet?
@@erik_griswold I don't know how you guys put up with them all those years.
Thanks! Excited for the day we peek the Northlander sets
Love these updates! What’s the story behind the new ACE locos?
Likely for future expansions towards Sacramento and Merced.
Excellent report. Thank you!
Great shots, thanks for all the great information. You should make this a regular series on your channel.
ooOoOo those Casacade Venture cars are looking aoooo good 👍
Excellent coverage, Thank you for all the information
The seats on the trainsets for Cascades look much better ones than the seats on the trainsets for the San Joaquins!
New order for more rail equipment is on the near horizon too.
Good thing Siemens is getting a second facility in NC.
Oh my god I would love to ride one of those cars when they are fully released and ready for the cascades later in the future
I’m curious if the rewrapped Venture for Cascade service is actually going to the PNW or just wrapped for a PR junket.
Oh neat, I was on the Zephyr that delivered the ALC units
It was good to see a SF MUNI LRV sitting there too As of now SF MUNI has 140 new cars in service cars # 2140 thru # 2147 are being tested
AMtrak need double decker siemens trains to replace the superliners
interesting that the cascade airo doesn't have the standard venture stairs
Any update on the Brightline stuff? End of August shipping out has surely passed haha

Makes sense they can just wrap them here in Orlando. Thanks for the update.
@@peterfrank29 First five cars departed on the 20th.
@@sjvrailfan I'll have to get a video of them coming into Orlando

Does Siemens still make subway trains?
I can already feel the pain of Oregon and Washington railfans right now
Yes
Interesting.
Any Brightline?
@@TrainzDriver2 Did you watch the video?
