The military orders their super duty’s without emissions. So there are OEM parts and tunes for these trucks. I wonder if you could get your hands on those some how. Through a gov contractor maybe
When you disconnect the def injection line, will def come out? Is one of the plugs that you use from the kit to plug the line or does it not need anything? Do you just leave the def tank alone? Are there any concerns just leaving a half full def tank forever more?
Ya I saw that. The military gets factory deleted powerstrokes because they need reliability. But I guess the common working men that build America don’t deserve the reliability. What a joke.
As always good video man, just a tidbit the reason there’s two rads is because there’s two independent cooling systems on these trucks. Iirc the secondary goes to the EGR. The primary wouldn’t have to be drained. I have also found the best way to burp the system is crack the overflow cap and run the truck on hi idle (~1800) for about 5 then shut down and top off. I then replace cap andrun the truck hard around the block then top off again. And of course monitor for next few drives and top off as needed. So far that has worked for me.
Another tip too, you only need to drain the secondary like you said, but instead of getting to that drain valve, I just drain it right at the trans cooler and take a line off, it’s the lowest point of the system and you don’t get dirt in your nice clean coolant bucket👍

ordered mine from tuner depot, plugged in to computer to get the serial numbers and the auto flasher tells me “check usb driver, may not be installed correctly” any help ??
Because removing the parts is pretty straight forward, it’s just nuts and bolts, but tuning can be complicated. Sometimes (more common with trucks that are already in limp mode) the first tune doesn’t clear all the codes or take it out of limp mode. You have to work with the tuning company to try a couple tune files until you get one that works. And sometimes if you remove the emissions first you can’t clear the codes or get them to go away without reinstalling all the sensors and emission modules. Usually it doesn’t matter if you tune first or not, but on the off chance it does you’ll be glad you tuned it first haha. Hope that makes sense.
I'd actually prefer that method than overwriting the current ECM. If I have to move to a communist state, then I can at least swap the original ECM back in and hook up all that garbage EPA crap. Or if I want to sell it thru a dealer.
