What I found tremendously helpful with this video is Fixerette video'd each step of removing the cover panel under the dash. I needed to refer to it to see how the tabs looked when she started as I needed help with reattachment, the tabs actually behind the panel, not in front. Well done!!!
Wow! Thank you so much! I have been watching videos that mechanics made and still had no clue how to fix my brake light switch. My mechanic wanted to charge me $400. Great video!! From start to finish, you got it down!! Going out to fix my car!
NO... They are called Awesome TORX Screws and you forgot to mention that your comment is awesome and can i just say............ one last time........... YOU'RE AWESOME LOL
Gteat Job Chick!!!! Im a small frame lady, like yourself, so we are the ideal size to work on VWs. Haha. VERY IMPORTANT TOOLS FOR VWs: 1.TINY Tool Kit, they have super small pliers (curved and straight) for the fuses. As well as small screwdrivers, useful for small spaces. 2. SCREWDRIVER BITS: T220-T-225 Most interior screws will be one of these or a phillpis head. 3. SCOSCHE makes a kit that is Specifically for Removal of any plastic parts with clips (ie..dash, door panels, ect..) I would recommend that ANYONE that purchases a Volkswagen product take the time to invest in these few items. They are inexpensive and will prove to be Very Useful! Once Again, GREAT JOB!! I had the problem of the brake lights staying ON all the time. Same part had to be replaced though. I didn't remove the plastic panel next to the steering wheel, I have already broken Way Too Many clips in other places. I moved my seat as far back as it would go and laid "backwards", I suppose a lil upside down too. My feet were on the roof of the back seat. Very Funny to see , Im sure.
Good job, the same work done for a VW Golf Series, and for all vehicles brand... Sympa la tuto, tu te débrouilles bien, et je aime bien ton French accent.... Aller à bientôt.
All very curious and pleasure for this lady, but not complete due to certain unforeseen events that many do not know. There are now many cars with switches (see the 4-pin, ones two of which are dedicated to the cruiser) whose signal is interfaced with the on-board computer, which even when replacing the switch, the brake lights remain on by turning the ignition key. Everything must be reset by a mechanic cars, who inserts his computer into the O.B.D. diagnostic socket, to solve the problem or see via the computer codes if there are other problems that cause the lights to remain continuous without pressing the brake pedal.

If anyones having trouble finding the switch...the sensor is actually mounted to the master cylinder on my 2013 Jetta 2.5 SE (under the hood, directly under the brake fluid reservoir where you add brake fluid.) Hopefully this saves at least 1 person from tearing their whole lower dash apart searching for a switch that isnt there like a mad man 🤣
I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking if the abs and esp lights were on before I did the repair? If so, the answer is no, these two lights were not on.
I really had a lot of fun taking out the 3 screws, so then I just kept going and started taking out every screw I saw. I kept unscrewing this screw, that screw -- popping out this plastic piece, then that one, etc. And before I knew it, I'd managed to disassemble my entire dashboard.
