Things to note which might be helpful to anyone learning the trick: (1) It does not matter how many time the deck is cut at the beginning of the trick - the relationship between the top and bottom halves of the deck is maintained (2) When looking for the "pair" of the bottom card it is always to be found exactly in the middle of the deck which makes the search for it easier and less obvious.

Same here! With the tricks I've been teaching recently I've been trying to find little gems in magic that are easy to perform, yet would also fool the majority of people. I came across this trick recently and I had never seen such a deceptive stack that required very little memorisation work. So I thought i'd share it with the world!
@@oscar It’s awesome! I definitely know I’m using this simple little gem at our next IBM meeting! Idk if u follow jekiyoo on IG😂 His character is so ridiculous and his magic is brilliant 😂 Fools me routinely! If u don’t follow his Instagram I highly recommend it. Have a good day my friend
The fact that the cards were cut and not shuffled before the card was chosen suggested the cards were in a prearranged order. That the cards were shuffled after being chosen suggested it had to be located when showing the cards faced up to the spectator. The fooling part was the ingenious method the cards were prearranged, which allowed for the card to be located so effortlessly. Systems such as the Si Stebbins stack, or others, require a great deal of time and effort to get down, especially to the degree of not showing any strain or mental effort, but this one is a piece of cake, a very nice effect.
Whenever I used to post such videos it gives me confidence that even greatest magicians can be fooled. I also want to but I am a beginner at this I hope one day I will also fool some great magicians . Thank you ❤️
Isnt there a slight chance than when you cut the cards, or the spectator cuts the cards, they will cut right where the "key" is, or does it not matter in this case?
To be fair, you could just use any stack or memorised deck order - the benefit of this version is that the stack is almost impossible to spot and different every time.
Exactly. The red flags are the fact that the deck was cut initially, not shuffled (Although you can just false shuffle), and after the card was chosen a quick swing cut. Not really a magician fooler. Sure the stack is unique and I haven't seen it before but FAR from fooling. Knowing Shin I doubt this did more then for him then question what the stack was.
If you cut the deck as much as you would like, isnt there an off chance that you would accidently split the cards where the volunteers chosen partnered card would be essentially once they picked it. so in this example if he was cutting the cars and accidently split the cards between the 6 of diamonds and the 8 of diamonds. then would there be a diferent card entirely on the 6D unless im just not seeing something.
Man I love this really good card trick it is so deceiving thank you so much for the video and the tutorial man this is the best one I've seen in a long time I will definitely be using this one in my next performance again thanks very much thumbs up I'll catch you on your next video they're all great Mister Simmons
No, the order of the deck is circular. It will never become out of order if you just cut the deck but the start and end points will shift based on that loop.
I'd do this with a proper memdeck stack (Mnemonica is my one of choice) and a marked deck. That way the awkward move at the start is eliminated and there is no need to turn the deck face up until the very end after the selected card is pulled from the deck
ikr like even a si stebbons stack would work with this trick much better, but i guess his stack is easier to do (also im confused on how it fooled shin lim) lol
@@traviskauffman9445 Yea, Si Stebbons would work fine too, but if you already know a full memdeck stack, it'll give you a bit more speed leting you move on quicker.
I love when a trick starts with something like "first you do a double lift" and I say to me "that's was good while it lasted, next trick".... Nothing to do with this one, just saying lol May I say that this was a incredible and simple effect. Kudos sir!
I don't understand: you say we can cut the deck as much as we want before the audience has to choose their card. Wouldn't that potentially "dismatch" the pairs?
At the end of the trick the 26th card down from the top of the pack will be the same card that is on the bottom of the pack. ie if the bottom card was ace of hearts. The 26th card would be the ace of diamonds , The 4 of clubs on the bottom ,26th card down would be the 4 of spades. etc as long as the cards have not been shuffled.
I don't get this. I tried this like 100x and I can't get the right card. I'm bored of shuffling it over and over and over again. I just can't seem to get it.It's always a different card and not even close. I follow everything to the frame, but can't duplicate the trick.
I'm sorry, I don't get the 1st move. How can one ensure that the matching card has been selected, and that the top card's match is where the break/selection is, if you've cut the deck "As many times as you like".....isn't that in essence a shuffle, thus moving the cards elsewhere?
@@masterrserch3971 can you explain this step to a layman because this endless shuffling that you can do surely mixes up the card order. I don't get it.
@@MrMooremelody ok this would be much easier to SPEAK it lol, so I'll try my best typing it out... when you 1st set up the deck and separate each one according to suit color, you're making 2 piles of 26 each. That means each card will be lined up evenly in place with its "mirror" card in one half deck and the other... So when u set up the cards, let's say the 1st card u deal is 10 of red. You then proceed to set up the deck as directed, and put both piles into one pile. So now that 1st card u dealt during the set up will match the 27th card in your big pile, the other 10 of red. The 2nd card color matches the 28th, 3rd and 29th, and so on... When he chooses the card and u "flip flop" the cut, the bottom card indicates to you that it's mirror card is next to the card that your mark chooses.... Because you've cut the deck, he chooses a card, now you didn't put the cards back exactly how you cut them, you've taken the pile from one hand and put it over the pile in your other hand from which he's chosen. By his grabbing that card, the card next to it, which is at the bottom of the pile in your hand that he DIDN'T choose from, is the indicator/break point. So now you switch the piles, and u see what that bottom card is, which WAS the card NEXT TO the one he chose.... when u fan them out, you locate this "new" bottom card's mirror card. Right above it is the mirror card of the card he chose. So if it's the jack of Spades, he had to have chosen the jack of clubs.... Another way to look at it, you buy a deck of cards, you open the pack, don't shuffle, and u just fan them out. They're now in order obv. If he picks a card, the missing card is easy to find cuz the cards were in order. So for an easy example, let's say the new cards, unshuffled go like this: Spades ace to king, hearts ace to king, clubs ace to king, diamonds ace to king... now you fan them out face down and tell him to pick a card. When he picks, u have 2 piles of cards in your hands, and he's picked a card from your right hand. The cards are all still face down,, and you take the pile in your left hand, put it under the pile in your right hand. At this point u flip over the cards. Let's say the bottom card now is the king of Spades. That means you've "cut" the deck exactly at the break point of Spades into hearts, so since the cards were in order, you know he's chosen the ace of hearts. That's obviously not a trick cuz we all know the order of the cards. But by separating the cards into 2 mirrored piles in this trick, each card's mirror indicates where the other is. So when u flop the decks when he chooses, your bottom card's mirror card shows u that one spot up is where you cut the deck when he made his choice; if one card up is a spade, he has the club. And obviously it'll be the same number or face... once u know his card, obviously it doesn't matter what the hell u do with the cards after that, he could bury them in the backyard, you could just say "I can see thru dirt, your card is such and such" Hope that helps!
I guess it’s the best trick ever as it makes someone like me, never learned or performed magic, like a pro! All my friends urged me to tell them the secret🤣🤣
You can keep doing it over and over, but you have to remove the 'twin' card from the deck as well and place both aside. How you do that with people watching? That's up to you. You could put the previously chosen card back in the deck near the top or bottom of the deck, and then explain that you are going to do the trick again, even though you're not supposed to do that according to the rules. It should work twice, or more, in a row, no problem.
