This coronavirus lockdown made me analyze this video over and over again. For 2 months, I've studied this frame by frame. And now I'm back here commenting because I finally figured it out.
Notice when he asked Howie to sign the card? That's the give away. It was at that very moment that I realized I just wasted my time trying to figure this out because this dude is obviously a real sorcerer.
So theres someone that thinks like me, i believe shin has time stop abilities.

Not to bashing SL as he does great performance, but this time AGT crews were being involved in making the magic happened, which somehow making it worse IMO as it doesn't need any skill at all. For example, the card that Houwi signed is not the same card with on his chair (hint: see the position of the signature), it had been setup before.
He had us in the first half, not gonna lie...

The year he won I stayed up past my bedtime just to hear the results. Shin Lim was the one I wanted to win and he did that. Every time I'm mesmerized by his performance. He is one in a million.

If u slow the speed down to .25 u can see a lot of the stuff he doing.. And u can see terri's signature isnt the same on those othe 2's he pulled out his back pocket or his left hand.. Pay attention to his left arm wen he turns around n watch his head tilt down. U can see his left arm moving as if he folding terri's real card n putting it in his mouth. The card in his right hand is the miss direction. He wants u to pay attention to the right hand so u dont see wtf hes doin lol.. Wen he turns around u can tell he already got the card in his mouth lol.. Hes good but i hope angelica hale wins

The whole act is amazing slight of hand, but I think the part with Howie's cup is staged.
Could be wrong ofcourse but I'm pretty sure those were just duplicate cards. The signature on the card red card that comes out of the cup (6:23) is different than the signature at the start (3:43). Still amazing act, definitely deserves to win.

Nah, he's good but this wasn't his best performance in my opinion! Alot of his moves were easy to spot this time. Every time a card "disappeared" he was assisted with camera angles as his hand moved to the table to drop them down behind it! He's great! But I think he wasn't as careful for this one
Patrick Wilson You might be right that the finesse wasn't as perfect but just the length and composition of all the little tricks within the card trick on the biggest stage on the biggest night and the twist on the ending. It had everything for a world class performance.
I have seen magicians during my life, I am 68 yrs old. This guy is the best by far. He does it right in front of you. I am amazed.

That's just one of the tricks, and this was a simple one. Most amateur card magicians will be able to follow through with parts of his routine.
The only killer is how he got the cards below Howie and in his cup, has to be a setup.

FOR ANYONE WONDERING: The reason why he did roughly the exact same routine as he's done before is because this performance was pre-shot almost directly after he won AGT so he had no time to prep for a new routine. Regardless of anything this act is still absolutely amazing and beautiful. I could watch it over and over, it doesn't get old haha

Been watching reality competition since 2009. I saw lots of great performances from American Idol, America's Got Talent, The X Factor, and The Voice. Never in my whole life in history of watching a reality competition show I have never felt so shocked until this performance. This is literally like literally the best performance that I have ever seen before. And he does look who can play a vampire or a werewolf on Twilight.

Shin Lim is amazing. The only time I could figure out how he did a trick was the trick of making the boxed deck of cards disappear (empty cards out of bottom of box over back of table, then when box back in middle of table, flip box down when smash hand down to make box "disappear" and slide box towards self off back of table as he uses table to stand up). Then he hits us with cards in Howie's cup, and I'm back to being clueless lol

I found it, he had two cards the entire time. The signature on the bent card 4:13 is slightly straighter on the end, while the one at 4:28 has a slight bend on the end.
The amazing thing is even for those of us who know how he does (most) of this, it's STILL jaw dropping. Because it's ridiculously fast and cleanly done.

I saw him do this same trick last night in Las Vegas. Just as stunning, just as theatrical, simply amazing. “Unbelievable” is an inadequate word to describe the show.
As someone who knows slight of hand tricks and have performed in front of family & friends, and know how he does some of the tricks, but the way he executes them is just pure skill and talent.
His magic tricks are superb, his charisma is undeniably magnetic, his character as a performer is great, his language is clear and simple, and the fact that he's a good looking young guy helps also.
