Got new front rotors put on my ‘22 ascent at 14K miles bc they warped (known issue) and they noted in the service write up the caliper slide pins were dry and they lubed them. Both sides had no lube apparently from factory.
I did not use a scan tool. You can unplug the power source to the e-brake as shown in the video. Then you use the tool to turn the brake in. After installing and plugging power back into the e-brake, you set the brake about five times and it will adjust. No codes were set.
You use many products to lub a couple part. What's products you use? Exemple: product for lub caliper pin, caliper nuts, grey product before put new brake pad and red product to put read brake pad? Thanks a lot
i skipped the caliper pin part but later in the vid you said we needed to tighten them up again. why did you originally remove them? and do i need to remove them?
Caliper pins allow for the brake pads to slide in and out from the rotor. They have to be lubricated in order to make that action easier. I removed them in order to put disk brake lube on them so that they would not seize up. Most mechanics will recommend greasing them up when replacing your pads. Some go so far as recommending that you replace the pins with new ones each time, but that is not necessary if they are still serviceable.
@@justagaragehack347 okay cool thanks, offered to do my dads for him so the dealership can’t get their overcharge money but only done my little honda brakes😂🤙🏼
@@justagaragehack347 I had screwed the caliper in until i hit a hard wall and there was not near enough space for the rotor between the pads. After putting it togther and taking it apart 10 times while also running the parking brake in and out. I finally found that when you screw the caliper all the way down until it stops you can then squeeze in the rest of the way open with channel locks

Same issue on my 20 dealer put new pads on at 40k miles and just said forget about the calipers 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks again for posting. Did you need a scan tool for the rear electronic brakes? Did any codes come up after the job?

How did you "make more space" when u cut the video?????. I'm having the same problem
I believe I took the e brake retractor tool to it and was able to back it off a bit more than I had it.

What size are the lug nuts?
