I wanted to ask you how concerned I should be when I find and Element then when I look up the VIN #, there are usually 10-12 open recalls. Does this concern you at all? Since I'm not a mechanic, how concerned should I be if at all? Thanks

Congrats on a smooth transaction. I'm currently looking for an Element and getting annoyed by all of the dealers who get Elements, sell the Elements but leaves the ads up on the website so you will call them, and they try to do a bait and switch. These tactics are really frustrating.

Car & Driver also doesn't think the new Elements will see the light of day. Every auto mfr takes out patents every year for research & they never develop. Case in point these patents were submitted in '20 - '21

If you are swapping out the lifters, how about drop a matching cam, too. They are sold as sets. Looks like you have plenty of room under the hood to pull the cam without much more work. Crawl underneath the truck while idling. If rod knock, you will hear it much clearer. I own a 2008 element and 72 Chevy c10 I rebuilt years ago. Good luck!

So I sucessfully installed the 1st I believe of it's kind for the Honda Element platform (a 13 inch 4K high definition android radio) with a 42 band EQ setting for each speaker. Hey i watched many videos of guys using rotella t6 oil in all types of cars and bikes.. they say its far superior to full synthetic oil. Seens like the element may benifit. Do you do this if not look into it and let me know what u think...sounds good to me. Also i would of bought that car if the engine trans was good. Wouldnt of tried to make it pretty just make it run good and use for work type things.

I mean you technically could hose down the interior without taking apart anything as long as you don’t start the car 4 days later till everything is fully dry. I did that, I washed it like I submerged that thang and didn’t touch the car or anything for 5 days and so far 160,000 miles and going strong. I got it my Element at 147,000

Thanks for sharing this Alek. I've been thinking about this lately including today. I bought a really nice 2004 Element EX a year ago and it's been great but does need a few things taken care of which I've been working on. One thing lately though is there's some sort of mostly faint background thumping when I drive. It never did that when I bought it and just came up lately. The tires are pretty new and they were recently balanced again too so don't think that's it. Just bought some end links and bushings for the rear sway bar so will be installing those shortly. I'll look into some of these things and see what I can find. Thanks.
