    In this video I show how to replace your Moen bath/tub/shower faucet with this universal kit from Danco. This kit will replace a Moentrol or a Posi-temp series faucet.

    Hello! I wanted to thank you for your video. I am 60+ and I could change my handle by myself because of your explaination. Knowing that I had one system and that all the parts in the package were not necessary made the process a lot easier. Moen Tron vs .... thank you again!

    installed this today .. pretty straightforward as this gentleman's video indicates.. also QR code at top of printed instructions (which are too small to read for me) was a major help as well .. really well done.. I installed plastic handle but screw provided was too short .. had to hunt around in my toolbox for one w more length otherwise handle would be too loose .. happy w this minor update to my shower !

      Had the same issue with the handle feeling very loose when installed. I stuffed some of the extra foam gasket supplied in the kit in the cavity where the set screw goes and that helped stabilize it. Now this thing feels worth the ~$50 I spent at Lowes lol

      I had the same problem and read the instructions. The kit includes a tiny lock washer which my plumber didn't use. I installed the lock washer and it stopped the handle from feeling loose.

    The kit shown at the right in the first 10 seconds of the video is not correct -- it is for Delta. However the link in the description to a Danco 10002 UNIVERSAL MOEN TRIM KIT is correct.

    I wanted the lever handle, but the plumber said I couldn't used that option. After he left I found your video. I have moentrol and valve has no diverter so I WAS able to use the lever. Now my problem is my gray adapter is metal and its weight is causing the handle to sink ever so slow downward when I have the lever at the highest points either left or right. Looks like your adapter was plastic. Maybe I can get a plastic adapter to fix this issue??

    I just installed this kit on my old moen.(Thanks for your video). But now, I can't get the water to turn off completely by just pushing in the handle. I have taken handle off and can turn water off by pushing screw in farther with screwdriver. Do I have it installed correctly? Do I need to do something different? Could this possibly mean I need to replace the cartridge?

    • @cindieggers1
      @cindieggers1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      More: not sure, but it seems like the reason it isn’t shutting off is because it hits the plate. I noticed the original old Moen plate is more “bowl” shaped (deeper).

    Great video!! Really helpful!! We replaced ours with this same kid probably 8 years ago and we installed the KNOB. We must have the Moentron valve that you spoke about because it DOES NOT pull out to turn on. With the KNOB installed we would turn it counter-clockwise all the way to get hot water from 1 side of our house to our master bathroom then gradually turn it slowly clockwise to make the water cooler. It has worked fine like this for 8 years. the pressure remained the same regardless of the position of the knob. We just replaced the trim kit again and elected to use the LEVER because its easier to grab. We cannot seem to be able to adjust the temp of the water now. This seems weird to us but on 1 side its HOT only and on the other side its COLD only. We feel kind of stupid now. Lol! May be we installed the wrong adaptor? We used the GRAY one that you used. Thanks!

      @@Kent_N_Sophie I removed the LEVER that I installed when I installed the new trim kit and put the KNOB back on. NO difference in pressure or temp control. I have watched videos now on replacing the cartridge and frankly think thats my next move. Its original to our home that was built in 1998. It doesn't leak and that seems to be why most folks replace the cartridges. Ours is actually quite stiff to turn thats why I elected to install the lever. MY understanding is these valves automatically adjust the temp for instance if someone flushes a toilet close by so the person in the shower doesn't get hotter water than they want. I think ours is just plain stuck.
