PAC-MAN: The complete history PART 2 is the follow up to the awesome (If I do say so myself) Pac-Man: The Complete History Part 1 which you can see right here... • Pac-Man: The Complete ...
In total, this brings the running time to slightly under 2 hours 30 mins of pure retro gaming goodness, and of course, PacMan deserves nothing less!
Last time we chatted about his origin story, how he became a massive cult classic of the video game world leading us through the arcades with the OG game, its not so great Atari 2600 remake, its explosion of arcade games such as Ms. Pac-Man, Baby Pac-Man, and Professor Pac-Man. Before chatting about his official sequels such as SUPER Pac-Man and the yellow dots 1st ever platform game PAC-LAND!
we chatted about plenty of other games too (again, go watch it if you haven't • Pac-Man: The Complete ... ) but now, it's time to go Pac-Man crazy
Our journey starts in the 16-bit era on the mega drive and super Nintendo chatting about Pac-Man 2 the new adventures, Pac-Attack, Pac-In-Time, and the crazy story behind the ms PAC-man ports.
And then we move on to the PlayStation 1, PC and N64 and PS2 era with games such as the well-loved Pac-Man World series, Maze Madness games, Adventures in Time, the TERRIBLE Mario party rip off that was Pac-Man fever. the VS game, the oddball DS days with games like Pac-Pix, Pac n' Roll. The weird PSP arrangement games, the not-so-great Wii titles, and of course all those Rally games too.
Seriously, you should just watch the video. we even bring up Pac-Man 99, Mega Tunnel Battle, The Ghostly adventures, the google doodle, 256, and the excellent Championship editions too!

Well Done! What a vid. Including a cameo from diddy slope too! haha. I hope Namco and other publishers see this and and reach out so you can do some more
Whoop Whoop!
Can you do a history on Paper Mario?
Slope's Game Room, you should definitely do the complete history of Bayonetta!
Well at least it isn't ball shavers but something useful. 🤷♂
That was an almighty number of t-shirt changes.
I stopped counting at 30. LOL.
quite literally every time it cut back to himself he was in a different shirt.
7:16 that commercial would *NEVER* fly today.....LOL.
i can't begin to imagine how much effort went into this. Well done Daniel, good work
It was a mental one mate. Thanks for the comment
I guess we can have a rough idea of how many days this took just to record some footage by counting how many different shirts he wears lol
Pac-Man 99 was a very welcome surprise. I still can't believe they just dropped it out of the blue. 🤯
That pacman 2 TV spot is REALLY disturbing....
It really is, pretty much encouragement of bullying
A shame though PAL never got the game for Mega Drive. 😢
Feel like I've been to Pac Man college for the last 2.5hrs...both parts are excellent, great job!
Anyone else notice how Slope is wearing a different shirt everytime he is in front of the camera. He has been doing this for the past few videos. The extra time to do this small detail is just a the extra mile we can expect him to go. Thanks for the videos.
I only did this for the 2 pac man videos. This is such a big documentary when both are put together I wanted to do something that not everyone would notice as a little extra for the hardcore peeps
@@slopesgameroom LoL, first thing I basically noticed after 2 or 3 screens. But a neat little extra, those shirts rock!
DJ Slope changes his clothes in one video more than I have in Animal Crossing all year!
Maybe a sign of how many days this took to record
The coolest day at my college, long long ago was the day they set up PacMan VR in the parking lot, put the helmet on and chased around ghosts in a 3D maze
That's awesome you got to experience that
@@slopesgameroom yeah it was awesome! I still talk about it all the time!
Was it a test market release or an actual release?
@@PACNATIC it was an actual release but the units were these massive things so it was probably very expensive and hard to store
@@slopesgameroom its better than tetris
The show honestly feels right out of the 80s, with Pacman getting into all sorts of crazy shenanigans with laughable villains and a sprinkling of school drama and some overarching plot points (his parents are missing, so some episodes like to hint at what happened to them but ultimately lead nowhere).
Its crazy to think that 1 simple idea can blow up to be so huge, ive had a way to play Pac-Man my entire life and its a game i will never get tired of. From Pac-Man 256 on my xbox to Pac-Man vs./world 2 on my gamecube, Pac-Man is still verry much a part of my life and is being passed down to my kids as well. Thank you for not just another amazing video but for the walk down memory lane, i appreciate you.
Absolutely great retrospective, really loved your fair and critical professionalism, instead of kissing up with bias or bashing out of pure hatred, you were very pleasant to watch, thanks for this very well done video!
Cool, I'm actually catching new Slope's vids within minutes now, not catching up from months to years prior!
I remember playing the enhanced port of Ms. Pac-Man on the genesis/md! they definitely went all-out with new features, the new co-op mode, new additional mazes it was quite the port! the original is definitely my favorite entry in the entire pac-man series though (I was actually able to pick up the ms. pac arcade 1up this month and been having a blast playing the included games on it!) these retrospectives are always top-notch stuff!
This turned out great! I had a passing familiarity with most of these but it was great to hear about them in a bit more detail along with the stuff I missed. Like I had no idea Party Royale and Geo existed. Good work!
Marvelous mate 🔥 👍!
Long live Pac-Man and Daniel Ibbertson, aka DJ Slope 😎!
Oh man, Pac-Man 256. Such a good game. I’ve run the battery out on my phone so many times playing it.
Waka waka waka waka waka waka waka waka waka waka waka!!!! YES! Congratulations! This series is a must-watch!
Ayyyy, great ep this.
I love the Caddy bit. "Fun fact! Did you know?"
Pac Man Arrangement is MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! And I didn't even know it existed until last December. A wonderful discovery. I play it all the time!
48:45 is this supposed to be a Jamaican or Arnold Schwarzenegger imitation?!? 😂
16:10 Ah yes... That does sound like quite a pain in the ƎᗡIƧ
I don't think it was mentioned because it's not technically a video game, but my favorite pac man game is Pac Man Smash Air Hockey. It's a MUST play if you find it at an arcade! It's like regular air hockey, but once a goal is scored, tons of mini pucks pour out and it's a frenzy to see who can score the most points by getting the minis into the opponents goal.
Great video. Thanks so much for all your hard work in putting this together.
This video is a cool one especially when you see the shirt transitions. I thought I was losing it after a short minute
Over 4 decades of chomping madness all told in an epic, feature length, presentation.
WAKA WAKA, Pac-Man will always be a cute and lovable character to me. How can you not smile when you look at his gleaming sunny smiling face?
Really high-quality documentary, fantastic work! Have only played PAC-Man a handful of times admittedly, but this has made me a new fan; gonna pick up and play some Championship Edition to see what I’ve missed out on
Great video. I had no idea there had been so many Pac-Man games. I can’t conceive the amount of research that must have gone into this complete history. Also the amount of t-shirts worn must be some kind of record 👍
I'd love for them to bring Pac-Man Party Royale and Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle to the Switch!!! There's also the new Pac-Man Battle Royale Chompionship Edition, which looks great as well
Man, these are awesome! That’s a lot of work, and you handled it quite well!
This was amazing! Thank you! I've played a good portion of the games on this list, starting with with original in arcades. You're right that CE and CE DX are incredible, and 99 is pretty awesome so far. Thanks for all the work you put into this video!
I quite like Pacman 2. Its so unique. I remember reading about it in Segavision during the day and eventually renting it for a weekend. That's really all you need with that game. Kind of reminds me of Panic on the SegaCD in that its less of a game and more of a toy.
Your commitment to your videos is el bonkers :^) keep it up
Damn slope... your editing wizardry is simply amazing. your speaking seemed to be in one take with all the costume changes. i couldn't detect any kind of break between shirt updates.
Spectacular video, your enthusiasm for the subject really shined through. Thanks for making it! 👏🏻👏🏻
😃😃😃✌️
your docs are always such a joy to watch! so informative. def going to check some of the titles I didn’t know existed out thanks to you.
✌🏾
I've only been following you for the past few months so I missed this at the time. That was amazing! Thankyou!!! :) And seeing you rocking a Blink 182 T-shirt is always extra cool!
You almost got me with those subtle t-shirt switches!
Slope, these two videos have been awesome. I love them
you're making my shift tonight go a *lot* smoother, cheers!!
Q: Who is yellow, eats ghosts, jumps through time, and occasionally captains spaceships?
A: Scott Pacula
An hour and some change about pac-man? Color me excited!
I really hope that there will be a Pac Man World remaster or sequel soon! Such a simple but fun series that needs to come back.
I want all 3 PMW games to be on current gen consoles, maybe in a collection.
Well you got the first one, now let's see if they do the sequel.
Oh gosh!
He used more shirts in 1 hour than I have in my room.
I remember there used to be a Red Bull themed Pac-man machine (the power pellets were cans of Red Bull) at this store I used to go to. The bottom of the cabinet was a mini fridge; it was pretty slick for just marketing an energy drink.
I played pac man world 2 right next to battle for bikini bottom when I was a kid and these games really did grown me into the 3d platforming lover I am today.
Who else loves SGR’s accent? I don’t know what I would do without my daily dose of “fankfully”, “fanks”, “fhree”, and “five”...
I prefer my creators to speak the Queen’s English.
Yo, at 40:29 I would have never expected that shirt! So cool.
I Just ate a row of pac pellets, dare me to drive? Lol
I like to imagine there's a clothing rack just off screen and you just change shirts every few minutes rather than have separate recording sessions.
I have a suggestion for a Complete History at some point, but it too will be a massive undertaking. The Complete History of Bomberman.
YEP!!!
Not a video game but I love the PAC Man air hockey table, at a point in the game it just dumps like 60 mini pucks onto the table and you get to go crazy trying to get as many goals as possible
Pac-Man 99, Mario 35, & Tetris 99 is actually developed by Arika. So BIG props to them. Nintendo just published it.
The Pac is back
That was some mad research mate, bravo!
It’s here!! Right on Dj slope!!
I love that I chose to watch part one and two instead of a movie... Was the better option... Would recommend.
What's up with the algorithm when this quality long form content has only 776 upvotes?
Hell yeah I've been waiting for this
Hell yeah part 2 u rock d.j
I actually bought Pac-Man Pizza Parlor years ago on BigFishGames website. I don't buy from them anymore due to the whole controversy surrounding their subscription model, which I myself was a victim of a couple of times. But seeing as how there isn't a better alternative to the client without resorting to piracy that can easily infect my computer with viruses, I guess I'll just have to stay subscribed for the time being, just so I can continue playing these games.
Also Dan, please don't scare me with that Fun Fact thing from Caddy's old videos ever again! That song will always remain jarring to me regardless of how different others feel about it!
This was very very good. The only Pac-man missing, as far as I know, is the special Pacman Championship Edition 2 Plus, which was an updated version of that game, plus an entirely new game (Plus) mode where it is geared towards 2 player CO-OP and was a different game than the Pacman Championship Edition 2 Plus, it came with.
The Pac-man World series is a ton of fun. And I think I'm going to have to pick up PAc-Man & The Ghostly Adventures - it looks like a fun retro 3D platformer.
I bought the same Flexispot a few months ago, absolutely brilliant. Really easy to assemble too, took me 20 minutes single handed.
yep, glad you liked it mate :D
I just don't get why I don't get alerts! I'm glad I randomly decided to check the channel since I hadn't seen an alert in a while and the last vid I saw was the first part to this when you first put it out. That aside, great video as always!
Oh, as for the ghost named Kinky...I wonder if they were just trying to keep with the nky pattern with a color (like Pinky). Kin-iro means gold. So maybe that's why it has the name Kinky.
In 2015, Pacman made an appearance the movie "Pixals"
The box art of Pacman with a glider and the minecart level both reminded me of Sonic on 8-bit (master system & game gear)
My favorite channel, thank you!!!
Jesus, you change your t-shirts more than my y-fronts😂
Amazing retrospective!
2:55 - Wait, I remember playing this when I was a kid! We had this game in the USA!
After Championship Edition DX+ , I was hoping to hear the mention of PAC-Man Museum ( released February 25, 2014 (PSN)/ February 26, 2014 (Xbox Live).
Other than that pretty good two part Documentary, I watched both parts, now I’m subscribed to the channel. Looking forward to going back to check out older videos 👍🏾.
Ah Slopes. Today's a good day.
i was like “heeey that’s MattMcMuscles’s voice!” 🤣
Pac-Man world 2 is one of my favourite games as a teenager i loved it! was the first PS2 game i full completed 100%
Thanks for mentioning "pacman adventures in Time" was good working on this title, even if it had bizzare publisher contracts. It was a bit of a publisher mess but turned out well by the end.
There is a skill-based "slot" machine called PacMan: Cash Chase. It's PacMan. The better you play, the more money you win.
48:47, hey look! It’s the almighty Cash Banooca!
Welcome to slyoooppes game ryooom. :D
Your wife must hate all the laundry she’s gotta do.
I’ve never heard of the evercade until I saw this video...now I NEED one
Installs standing desk. Things are looking up!
Have you ever gotten a chance to try Pac-Man Museum+? It has most of the games you've mentioned over these two vids all contained in a nice, customizable arcade hub.
"Fury of the Furries" has a much different meaning nowadays lolll
My favorite Pac-Man game is the NES demake of Championship Edition that came with the Namcot Collection on Switch.
1:02:33: correction there’s only 2 season of ghostly adventures.
Thanks for making this
Pacman battle royale is my favorite gaming genre
Bamco really dropped the ball by making Mega Tunnel Battle a Stadia exclusive. That game should've been available on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation instead.
Pac-man 99 is crack.
My only gripe is, while I like the nod to the perfect-score on score-attack, I wish that was just an achievement and didn't end the game. It'd be cool to see how far people can take their scores if it were endless, which would give the game infinite replay-ability. However, as well in the original pac-man and championship edition, it will always be limited.
That would make for a much better game for sure
New drinking game... take a shot every time he changes shirts!
Pac-Man Championship Edition was released in the arcades. I know this because I saw it at Dave & Buster's. Also, if you do a search, you can find the NES ROM "demake" version.
Slope - you missed World's Largest PAC-MAN arcade machine by Raw Thrills! Great video feature.
Actually, the Pac-Man in Ghostly Adventures (known as Pac-World in Japan) is the descendant of the original Pac-Man. In fact, a representative from Namco stated in an interview that Pac's parents are the "original" Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man!
I honestly didn't know Pac-man Arrangement was an arcade game. I just thought it was something they made for the Pac-man Collection on the GBA. I use to play that all the time.
Pac-Man: The Complete History - featuring Daniel's amazing shirt collection... and some other dudes.
Hey, Slope's Game Room! In a future video, can you please do the complete history of Sonic the Hedgehog? The franchise just celebrated its 30th Anniversary this year! Pretty please?
world rally is like my favourite kart racer honestly,, just a very fun game i agree i wish more people cared about it ):
