      One son of Noah appreciating the genuinely-played music of another son thereof...
      Two out of three ain't half bad, in the end.
      Once the third son comes around, we'll have the whole band back together;
      One more time ...
      *Oy!!!*

      it very much promotes something!
      "and you have chosen life"
      to be motivated not by promises in the afterlife for good behavior, but create heaven here on earth
      so jubilation and laughter all part of this.

    Oh my gosh, I loved this version. I used to sing in a wedding band and did Jewish weddings and had to sing this. One rabbi came up to me and said, "Wow, you know the words better than me." LOL. I had so much fun trying to keep up with their tempo as they went faster and faster. It was hilarious, because since Hebrew is not my natural tongue. I was messing up the words as it went faster and faster. I was actually looking for a version I could sing to. This was fun. Excellent rendition gentleman. The band would also go into Hevenu Shalom Alechem and then back into Hava Nagila. I learned the songs phonetically by listening to them over and over until the words stuck. It's been years since I've performed it, but I still remember the words.

    • @mdsong12
      @mdsong12 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Thanks for the hearted and highlighting my comment. I may do a video of me singing to your version and see how funny it is for me to keep up with the tempo. When I do I will post the link. I have to make sure my vocals are well rested. This is like doing vocal gymnastics and aerobics trying to keep up with the tempo when it is accelerated. 🤣😂😎

    Yıllarca bu müzik Türkiye'de düğün salonlarımızda çalardı ve özellikle rumeli halayıyla oynardık.Ben,hep rus ezgisi sanırdım ve geçenlerde öğrendim ki bu ezgi bir İsrail halk şarkısıymış,çok severek dinlerim halâ,neden bilmem beni duygulandırır coşturur,acı,sevinç,hasret,ayrılık,sıla hasreti karışımı garip bir duygu dolar içime ve dayanamaz halay da çekerim.İsrail halkı sola doğru döner, biz sağa dönerek oynarız.Merak edenler you tube ta kasap oyunu yazarak halayımıza bakabilirler.Her ülkenin halk oyunları kendine has ve değerlidir,anlamlıdır.Bestelryenin eline sağlık.Müzik evrenseldir,dilini bilmesem de bu ezginin tınısı çok güzel.

    I'm from Puerto Rico, a small island in the Caribbean and for some reason this hits the soul here too.

    I first heard this song blasting out of one of the then-new "transistor radios" in 1960 in Port Said, on the Suez canal being played by an Arab/Egyptian. We were on a boat full of "10 pound poms" migrating from the UK to Australia. Always liked the lively tune.
