      Especially on a preserved classic like this car- I would definitely go for numbers matching. @@mr.lewelljo1971

    Love these my last one was an 1984 Z28 5.0 H.O 5 speed manual with t-tops and I loved that car. I was stolen from my sisters house in 1994 and I never saw it again. I was a 18 year old pup back then. I wish I would have been smarter.

    The vintage Alpine is nice. Had a few F bodies back in the day. They all tend to squeak like crazy after time.

      @@msicilia59 yeah I discovered your video in my news feed. At first I thought I car was stolen. Lol. She runs, I'm in the middle of changing out the water pump. Just need to replace the front and rear suspension, change the brakes, and finally going to the paint and body shop.

    Just an FYI, when trying to rock a car against a gear to unstick a motor, you want to use your highest gear 5th gear would give you way way more leverage to do what you are trying to do. It is easier for the engine to turn the wheels in 1st gear, conversely, it is easier for the wheels to turn the engine in 5th gear... Really like the color scheme and the pin striping- I would delete the non-factory decals but keep that pin striping. Also a shame on nixing the numbers matching 5.0. I feel that with a car of this caliber, it would be wise to keep it as original as possible. But that being said, I swapped in a 6.0 and t56 in my 89 GTA and it is a real blast to drive ;) Factory motor was long gone by the time i got the car...

    Or you could fill the cylinders with marval mystery oil and not risk breaking anything

  • @holeeshietpyro4072
    @holeeshietpyro4072 ปีที่แล้ว

    amazingly mint from the hangar, my goodness. the owner had the right idea on where to store it and it was put up in mint condition im sure. So the problem was bad oil pump? Why not just replace that, the walls of the cylinders still looked good. Unless all the bearings are shot from no oil??

      ONE of the cars to have!
      The Trans-Am was a darn quick one at that year level. But, so was the, yuck, Mustang, ha ha. The Mustang was an OK car, quick and all, but no elbow room, and no leg room for the double date in the back seat, while "Cruizin' the Boulevard!" 😮
      The Camaro's and the Trans-Am's had a touch more room, and they just felt right rippin' around and havin' fun!😅❤

    I love it right down the older ontario plates on it. I think it will polish up really nicely and smell a lot better with a good interior cleaning. Since you're oulling the old motor how about putting an ls in? That would really wake her up.

    I don’t agree with pulling that original motor I would have put a new oil pump in it. If you look at the crosshatching in the cylinders that was a very low mileage engine and you guys are killing the value of that original car by pulling that engine out of it
