I've been using Reaper for years and always loved it's options on rendering which appear to be way easier and more time efficient than other DAWS. I only wish it could split up and export MIDI files the same batch style of way. Just in parts or regions. Or is there a way and I don't know? Using selection as an option is tedious across a long MIDI file. Tried looking for a script for it but haven't found any. I'd write one of I knew how.
Thank you Kenny! One question. Let´s say i have rendered some of those items via the master. As i understand it, this is a momentary "audio snapshot". If i´m changing the fx on the track or master, those changes won´t affect those rendered items, right?! So how does Reaper handle this, when i re-render those items to take those changes into account: Does it delete the old files and puts new ones instead or will the old files just sit on the harddrive (until i use the "clean up project"-Option, which will delete all unused files from the project)?
How do you render selected media items as one file? (Merged one after the other; my use case is I have a media item that's cut and crossfades in the timeline)
How do you show your send slots within the track control panel like you have it set? Can you do that for inserts aswell? Any help (or even a video:-)) highly appreciated! And: Great video as always Kenny!
Ok, so this was a little confusing. I did some recordings as "takes", but that caused all the "takes" to get split, so I did some mix of explode and implode to get rid of the splits, but then exploding again made them all the same length instead of their original lengths...so I ended up just throwing all that out and re-importing the files to get them to render at their original length.
I think reaper is awesome DAW. I can't find good tutorial that show drawing automations in reaper. That's why i always export steams and use Ableton Live.
@6:45 but what if this is exactly what I want? I want the files "rendered" with no effects so I can send them to a friend in a different DAW so all my files will line up correctly with no effects
I just went to update my reaper software only to to confronted with a black lives matter statement!! ALL LIVES MATTER!! If reaper now chooses to be political then it has lost all credibility with me!! I will revert to using cubase.
we need more features like this while bouncing items within the project. rendering/freeze tracks have limited (6) options
Wow...been a Reaper user for years.
I DID NOT KNOW THIS TRICK!
Cool.
This is better than a live class. Awesome!
Thank you for the valuable tutorials
Once again, my man Kenny bringing it in the clutch!! I'd be so f--ked without you, dude. You are THE MAN!!

Useful and clear information, thank you. Vast render options in Reaper!

The single dislike on this video must have been a cat jumping on someone's keyboard accidentally.

Hi Kenny! Thanks for the advice; how about when I want to use this technique but muy sound is layered in different tracks?
Thank You.
Does this work for rendering out multitrack recordings without any fx for possible remix later?
Dear Kenny.. Can You Explain What Mean By Item Mix Behavior In Project Setting ?
Perfect thank you

Enjoy Cubase - anyway I wouldn't mix political with ethical... anyway.
"Confronted" lmao. Hope you've recovered from this traumatic ordeal, snowflake.
