Its funny this video should pop up. I went for a ride out around my local woods today after a few years off due to a pretty serious injury. Not only am I stoked to be back out again but I was surprised to see someone had built an amazing jump track there. Aswell as some crazy downhill trails. It was amazing to see such a labour of love and its only a couple of miles away from my house. Today has been the highlight of my year 😁
@@bert3566 unfortunately not and I've also move to full suspension now. Still think the stoic is to of the hardtail bikes out there and might look into one in the future but I'm loving my vitus mythique vrx.

aw i was expecting some footage from Lansdown/Bath racecourse/golf course, down through North Stoke, down the gully to Swineford!! That's a proper sick ride!!
You're lucky to have so many good trails around you. Here we only have a few, one of which is the "three Shires way" byway which at the moment is virtually un-rideable due to the amounts of rain falling on very sticky cley which turn your wheels into 10 kilo donuts in minutes as well as having been carved up by farmers vehicles, 4x 4drivers and motocrossers! Funily enough there more accessible trails around me when I lived in London!
There’s a surprising amount of “off road” in even the most urbanised city. Go explore and try to look at things differently. Neil’s spot on with the need to get out a maintain the mojo - just go easy so you don’t need the NHS.
There’s some cities in the US that are great for street MTB because they’re so hilly Austin TX, Denver CO and San Francisco CA come to mind. Street MTB is pretty underrated but it’s real fun
Not just mud is hard work. Even grass takes it out at this time of year. I can only manage about half the miles I can do in summer - but it's damn good for fitness 🙂
oi! I do this for my daily ride - I don't have much trails within riding distance or skills to urban freestyle yet but there's no better way to keep fit than ride around and practice session the block ! Cheers!
Hey Neil, what size of Stoic were you riding? I'm considering buying one myself, but I'm on the verge of 27,5 S size, or 29 M and I need advice which size to choose
Same here. The Canyon site says I fit into a medium (6' tall with 33" inseam and 455mm reach) but most other bikes fit me into a large. Neil, how tall are you and what frame size are you riding?
proper sloppy round our ends at the moment!! haha i tried finding some new trails around south briz the other day and ended up in some proper swampy fields ;P

Neil & GMBN crew, I’ve been doing lots of similar rides through Jan but my bike gets stupidly clegged up. I noticed your bike was pretty clear, even though you looked to be riding similar conditions... were you and your crew stopping regularly and cleaning off the bike so it looked good or do you have any tips for preventing the cleggggg?
I don't like those slender necks near a longer headtube, it's only weakening the frame and looks as if they wanted to connect tubes no matter the cost, but there was not enough tube profile for that length of HT. Slender neck looks good on a swan, not on a MTB imo
