One time because I was *psychotic* I did the whole 2nd arc in one week sun up to sundown on a college winter break. I did all of azteca AND ALL THEIR SIDE QUESTS in one go. I did all of khrysalis and side quests in just around 24 hours. Never forget
as a recent new player i loved the second ark even though it was long the atmosphere and story was really good, but i can see how someone who played before those worlds were released could hate it especially if you are trying to get more accounts through it, but when played for the first time seamlessly together as a story its very enjoyable. it took me about 350 hours to beat the whole game with storm
I'm a new player too and I was worried the game was going to become too easy but I've been loving the difficulty curve thus far. Azteca was really the first challenging world for me which I like because I have to come up with better strategies to solo. Khrysalis i'm only half way done with but it has been even more enjoyable with the new shadow spells.

The game kind of starts to accept the fact the playerbase has grown up the farther you get. The majority of the playerbase are like in their 20-30s. However, it's kind of surprising they were able to get away with Khrysalis way back when.
Actually the reason why they take so long is the stupid back and forward that you have to do, if they can establish a complete button without returning to the original npc that would work wonders and just accept the next quest.
I haven't played in maybe 7 months to a year maybe but I remember finally getting to Avalon after finally getting through Celestia (Zafaria took me no time at all to get through and actually enjoyed it a bit) and as soon as I saw how many quests were in Avalon and the next world, said no thank you, and I logged off and haven't played since. I might play again sometime I tend to do this a lot where I will play Wiz nonstop for like month or two and then stop playing for half a year to a year, I do this with all of the games I play lol.
Honestly I prolly would have played Wiz for another couple years if Azteca hadn’t crushed my spirit lol. I just remember gritting my teeth through it, getting to Krysalis, and dropping the game entirely
Now hear me out, I feel like for a first time player, the entire second arc isnt terrible, just grindy, and I feel like thats a pretty decent contrast in comparison to the two arcs sandwiching them which you can honestly finish in about 30-40 hours MAXIMUM due to extremely short/not many quests. Now... for the EXPERIENCED PLAYERS (people who have played the game through at least twice already) those worlds become absolute chores, because hear me out, I did a balance and storm wizard over the summer vacation about a year or two ago, after not playing the game for yearsssss, when I say years, I believe Avalon was the newest world out, or whatever world was the world that had the level cap become 100, that was the last time I played, which might actually be khrysalis now that im thinking about it, anyhow, I digress. When I did those two wizards back to back about 2 years ago now, it was amazingly fun, (the fact that I had friends to go through it with me probably helped alot) but it was fun, I mean, the grindiness of the second arc was not lost on me in the slightest dont get me wrong, but it wasnt unbearable. But recently, I had started a playthrough with my sister, and life and death playthrough, and everything was going completely fine, until azteca, our motivation to play bottomed out and was at an all time low, and it was not helping that university was starting in the coming weeks, so we just kinda dropped it, I think as of right now, we are at like level 76-78? I really cant remember, but Azteca practically sapped every bit of joy we were having, probably didnt help that we were like speedrunning the game, and we got to Azteca within a week basically, but yk, yeah.
I would not recommend skipping the 2nd Arc. That one is actually good. The villain is a lot more interesting. Avalon was the best. So much better than the first arc
Ngl. I think most people quit before they ever finish the second arc. If they don't quit. They just stop and start a lot. Azteca is especially rough. It's the Mooshu of Arc 2. Passable story, fun dungeons and areas. Actually has decent side quests. But completely forgettable. They tried to get away with a lot of back tracking in Azteca cause the areas themselves are smaller but it still inflated travel time. (They got way better at not creating forgettable zones. Since they switched to a model of treating every new zone like an expansion. Arc 3 is a masterclass in world design) I honestly think even though Khrysalis is extremely long. It introduces so much stuff to the game, has a good story, and is overall just fairly enjoyable that it's actually worth its longer play time. By the end of Khrysalis. You effectively are playing a completely different game. It can be a bit tedious at times like most worlds with their busy work. Khrysalis has especially egregious side quests that can inflate the play time by double. I know people who've played through Khrysalis multiple times and still haven't done all the side quests. People playing through the whole thing in one go or people with experience playing through it again basically aren't even playing the same game as everyone else to an even bigger degree. Basically playing Wizard 101 like it's runescape. Most of the hate for part 2 doesn't come from new or returning players. On the contrary. Since that's normally how far they get. It's well liked. It comes from people on their 4th or 5th character. I don't really think a skip is ever the solution. It sets bad expectations and unless they redesign a lot of stuff. Will just lead to people quitting due to being confused by having no gradual ramp up in complexity and difficulty. I can just imagine people skipping to like Arc 4 and not even being able to read a single card without a dictionary out lol. Might actually force them to add in UI QoL though. It's already hard to get people to understand the basic early strategies. Let alone teaching them anything beyond using feint

@@MrHoodenizer Honestly don't blame ya. Avalon is especially egregious because not only was that the world to give us Teen Morg (thus throwing a wrench in the timeline), but the only reason we came to the world, the Sword of Kings, ended up doing jack all in the overall plot.

I've always said they need to introduce level scaling, a level squish, and/or group story arcs together. People get to pick what world they want to start in within said arc, and can freely focus on the campaign or side quests to their discretion if they have completed the campaigns all the way through on at least one main character. Once you hit the next story arc level tier, you are automatically given the option to begin the arc, despite your progress/completion in the last. Same rule follows if you want to explore other worlds within the same story arc. You wouldn't need to complete all main story lines in order to properly reach the next level tier for story arcs. Reducing the amount of experience needed could also help. Level 1-50 • Wizard City • Krokotopia • Marleybone • Mooshu • Dragon Spyre You could be hypothetically speaking level 10 and start in Mooshu if you wanted. The point of level scaling is to match mob difficulty and world interaction to the individual player level. If you are out in the world leveling and a level 32 wizard accompanies your level 10 character, you both would see different hp/mana pools for the mobs respectively. Even a damage multiplier might have to be added to ensure for your respective level the npc is pushing out damage contextual to your level, but that may be more important as we get into the latter story arcs. A level squish, I would imagine, would take more time due to how sensitive gearing/crafting is respective to the side worlds as well. There might have to be an overhall to how we gain our spells eventually as well if we get too high in character levels/numbers, where a level squish will be needed. Hopefully doing this incentivizes more people to explore and play the game at their leisure, juxtaposed to dragging through and pressured into a pay to win corner with level boosts and packs to unlock gear and spells. I think we give KI enough money as is where they should undergo a major face lift like this for the game.
I just now came back and before it took me long to get through worlds but once I knew what to do when I came back I have 3 accounts at level 130 from scratch and I’ve been back 3 months
Back then the arc being as long as it was, was okay. Now I am making new wizards instead of having a single wizard and there’s so much I have to take in at once and it’s a drag.
Honestly if they just started to revamp worlds that people didn’t like that would be kinda sick. Idk how they were able to make dinosaurs and a dying world boring.
it took me 5 days for arc 2 and 2 days for arc 1. but that’s because i use cheat engine and have my alt max storm to help me quest. for someone solo questing without these things it varies
I made a new char 7 days ago, he is now lvl96 and i played like 4 5 hr per day (not every day) I am boosting him with my 160 storm and using cheat engine , i finished azteca in 6 7 hr
So many wiz quests are run to place kill 3 enemies run back and i think if filler like that was cut we'd be in a better place with some worlds' lengths
Honestly they could make the game quicker even without revamping how many quests there are, they could just make all animations in the game 50% faster and that would already cut out a bunch of hours off the game
it will take most people way longer than 66 hours because of darkmoor. I gave up on Darkmoor after some time because i simply don't have the time to grind something that depends too much on RNG. most players aren't kids anymore, we have jobs and it's hard to commit the time for darkmoor
I say new players have it easy before I stop playing for a good min my last wizard I was working on was my balance just started Mirage when I came back to quest on it I notice some of the boss fights that where hard are easy then when I got to the sands of time and did the too boss fight before Old Cob and him where easy and they use to be hard even the final boss in Empyrea was easy and it was way harder the first go around if you did not have death to use juju newer players don't know how hard the third arc use to be.
0:12 A landfill is an excellent way to depict the dumpster fire that is Azteca. It's the worst world in the game BY FAR in my opinion... Also, 4:05 completely agree with your opinion on Khrysalis, yes it is far too long, but my god does this world get way too much hate. The story is actually good, Dyvim WhiteHart is the best companion character in the game, and it's the only world, in my opinion, where you get to see the actual change you are making through questing. You enter the world on the losing side of a war rooted in hatred but you slowly but sure flip the tide on Morganthe.
the fact azteca is so long bores me, and made me quit and return within a 3 years time frame just to finish it. The mind doesnt like repetitive things as it gets bored easily
66 hours for half the game is not that bad. Is like 1 month of playing 2 hours per day. But it’s just me I like the game so I enjoy every bit of story and content.
And arc 2 is easy tbh I over leveled with meta gear but still as long as it is bosses are fun with their cheats and as strong as you become in the 2nd arc it’s worth it
Honestly 1st arc is meh and I stop and start, doing wiz play to mix it up. play some arc 1 then 3 or 4, may 2. You have 7 schools to play. Even though it feel like they ripped arc 1 quest to shreds it goes by too quick these days, compared to 2012 when I began. I much preferred arc 2, having more difficulty, aside cheating bosses i enjoyed these worlds, the different visuals, was much more fun. KI if you are reading this do not remove any quests, you already nerfed it to heck. Do something about farming times in Darkmoor and later worlds gear, it's not a full time job FFS. I don't want to complete worlds in no time flat and remember this is meant to be 15 years of content, it should take a lot of time, people need to not be in a hurry. It's like when you drive people want to get where they are going to fast and miss so much in their haste, besides if you have driven slower you'll notice that car that sped past you miles back is only one car ahead of you at the traffic lights. Take your time and enjoy the journey. New worlds only come out every year so you rush and you farm to get "best gear" every 12 months in later years for a tiny upgrade. The point is the journey not rushing your experience. Also KI many players like to solo or with a friend, so scale late game content so it's fun and not frustrating/annoying/insane because we don't have 4 players. We want and need good gear too and spending hours is not fun for something with 0.0001% drop rate. We probably need the better gear than these full teams. Current devs have no sense how to make content that strikes a a balance. See Lemuria end fight in easy mode, it's an end fight but is like fighting mobs not bosses.

unpopular opinion, but dragonspyre-azteca have some of the best worlds that KI has put out still to this day
Honestly if they just started to revamp worlds that people didn’t like that would be kinda sick. Idk how they were able to make dinosaurs and a dying world boring.
Me watching this knowing damn well all of my wizards are at the beginning of the second arc and only my myth is in the 3rd arc 💀
it took me 5 days for arc 2 and 2 days for arc 1. but that’s because i use cheat engine and have my alt max storm to help me quest. for someone solo questing without these things it varies
I havent played this game before once i fet my laptop next week i plan on making my first wiz and it will be myth i love the cartoonish designs
Celestia made me want to tear the hair out of my head. It's a cool concept but it's just so un-fun and infuriating.
I must be the only person on the planet who likes Azteca
I’m currently trying to get through the second ark
I made a new char 7 days ago, he is now lvl96 and i played like 4 5 hr per day (not every day)
I am boosting him with my 160 storm and using cheat engine , i finished azteca in 6 7 hr
So many wiz quests are run to place kill 3 enemies run back and i think if filler like that was cut we'd be in a better place with some worlds' lengths
I mainly don't want to drag through Azteca 💀
Holy shit I’ve beaten arc 2 6 total times and I had no idea at minimum I’m wasting 50+ hours every time
Honestly they could make the game quicker even without revamping how many quests there are, they could just make all animations in the game 50% faster and that would already cut out a bunch of hours off the game
My main takeaway was that I need to become a degenerate gambler to succeed at this game
I hate the 1st arc except Mooshu. 2nd arc is my favorite. Celestia, Zafaria, and Avalon are a blast to go through. Azteca and Khrys is eeeh 😂.
it will take most people way longer than 66 hours because of darkmoor. I gave up on Darkmoor after some time because i simply don't have the time to grind something that depends too much on RNG. most players aren't kids anymore, we have jobs and it's hard to commit the time for darkmoor
darkmoor doesn’t take that long tbh and the gear is really good so it makes the game play faster
Good vid :)
And I thought I was a great player finishing Khrysalis under 48 hours
I say new players have it easy before I stop playing for a good min my last wizard I was working on was my balance just started Mirage when I came back to quest on it I notice some of the boss fights that where hard are easy then when I got to the sands of time and did the too boss fight before Old Cob and him where easy and they use to be hard even the final boss in Empyrea was easy and it was way harder the first go around if you did not have death to use juju newer players don't know how hard the third arc use to be.
Going through the seccond ark right now I have a feeling I’m going to regret spending 60+ on this haha
don’t give up on the nuzlock
0:12 A landfill is an excellent way to depict the dumpster fire that is Azteca. It's the worst world in the game BY FAR in my opinion...
Also, 4:05 completely agree with your opinion on Khrysalis, yes it is far too long, but my god does this world get way too much hate. The story is actually good, Dyvim WhiteHart is the best companion character in the game, and it's the only world, in my opinion, where you get to see the actual change you are making through questing. You enter the world on the losing side of a war rooted in hatred but you slowly but sure flip the tide on Morganthe.
How long does arc 3 take to beat? That’s what we need to see
to bad it aint easy to get acces to the entire game without paying alot of money still a amazingly fun game and i love it to this day
It's a 10 dollar sub fee. That's lower than literally every other MMO
the fact azteca is so long bores me, and made me quit and return within a 3 years time frame just to finish it. The mind doesnt like repetitive things as it gets bored easily
66 hours for half the game is not that bad. Is like 1 month of playing 2 hours per day. But it’s just me I like the game so I enjoy every bit of story and content.
RIP max 😭
I'm confused as to what an Arc is referring to in Wizard. What is Arc 1? What is Arc 2? How many Arcs are there in the game?
arc refers to the major story beats enacted by the primary antagonist, or the big bad evil guy (BBEG). there are currently 4 arcs!
Prisim bad spell?? Crazy fire bosses have 80%-90% resistance and elites have like 15%
And arc 2 is easy tbh I over leveled with meta gear but still as long as it is bosses are fun with their cheats and as strong as you become in the 2nd arc it’s worth it
I am about to start the second arc on my death. This makes me not want to start the second arc loool
second arc
just did all of Azteca yesterday in a single sitting. took about 10 hours altogether. Zeritt confirmed washed?
probably one week or two
Haha playing celectia and zafaria alone puts arc2 above the entire arc1 dragonspyre and wizcity carries hard
Anyone has a spare wizard101 account I lost mine old my old laptop 😭
Honest to god. I hate the 3rd arc more than anything else
Meow
This game being bloody sweaty neckbeard min max of a game, why even bother with this game if there is only one way to play in this game?
first?
Azteca is a godly world disliked for your bad statements on Azteca. Hold the L
Damn, you did this so quic, I’ve been playing for years and I’m at level 89 🥲🥲
