    Wow - these guys take their conditioning very seriously. This is old-school karate at its best. Thanks for posting this.

    Had no idea that in Goju Ryu, especially back than decades ago, they were using Thai pads in training. Interesting to see.

    I trained in karate for about 10 years as a kid, till my shou-dan, with a direct lineage from okinawan go ju ryu. It has been 15 years since and I thought I had lost all these original techniques, most of all the pair training and conditioning. This video is a true gem, all of my memories washed over. Very thorough. Seems like it might be possible to resume training without having to relocate to Okinawa after all :)

    This video is pure gold. You can easily watch a dozen instructional videos on Okinawan karate and still not have as much value as this 1 1/2 hour video.

    this is one of the sports that can rival muay thai in a actual fight because of the extreme conditioning that muay thai also emphasis

    I most recently met someone who studies this style. I was thrilled! I will always love this style and the mind-body-spirit connection. I still have my gee it is 25 years old and still in great shape.

    That's all and good when you're young and healthy. For us crippled oldies it's tai chi, and on your good days some bagua.
