Finally, a good review from a musician who mixes and masters. All the other current reviews are just headphone geeks who compare the LCD-1 to other headphones, but without any context of what the original music was intended to sound like on speakers. How can you judge the accuracy of headphones if you don't have a good monitoring setup? You really can't.
I've been using Reveal @ 80% and that seems to translate well with my new IK MTMs.

Great review. Don't be scared of that 7.9k shape in Reveal! Thats the best curve to modify a narrow frequency imbalance without affecting surrounding frequencies. That curve is an option in DMG Equilibrium.

I have a old pair of award winning Sennheiser HD-580´s, which are very much like the old Yamaha NS-10 speakers. I still love them. Very true sound. I also have a pair of Beyer-Dynamic DT-880 Pro, which are very good, but tend to have some extra highs. Once you are aware of that, it´s not a problem, but you need to be aware of that. I do mixing, and mastering, and have become curious about Audeze LCD-X. A bit expensive, but I might give them a shot. I don´t think the LCD-1 will give me what I want, nor will the Audeze LCD-2 Classic. I think the LCD-X might be my next choice. We´ll see.

You can choose the latency mode in Sonarworks just like in the fab filter eq, you can also set a preference curve in this way and adjust the standard curve from Sonarworks. And you never have to disable it, because it runs systemwide. It only sounds bad if you run It in 0 latency mode...It's a great piece of software!

Hi, I bought the lcd1 but I can hear a crinkling every time I move my head. I thought it was from the plastic but from costumer support told me "you may hear a slight crinkling sound from the diaphragm. This is a normal occurrence with planar magnetic driver" But it is actually the cheap plastic that makes that noise. I just returned them

@@MrGreed2000 I have sold a few and tested a few and own one pair of LCD-1 and none of them have had this issue. And I have tried moving my head a lot.

I have the LCD-1, the LCD-2F, the iSine10 and have had the LCD-2C in the past.
I also tested the LCD-X and LCD-3, but I greatly favoured the LCD-2 over either one of them. (the LCD-2 sounded "right" to me, while the others did not).
I also have the HD600, had the HD800, and the Beyerdynamic DT 660.
The HP I use the most is the LCD-1. Its worse at everything compared to the best HP at each thing (not as good timbre as the HD600, not as good space as the HD800, not as good in slam and wall of sound as the LCD-2, not as fast as the iSine)...
And yet I use it the most, I sold the LCD-2C, the HD800...
It jsut does not feel like it does anything "wrong". In gaming they will hit hard in base if asked for, will give you micro detail in highs when needed and will give you a good soundstage as well.
People usually test music with HPs, but I prefer games, so that is where I stick to testing. When a HP gets me hyped up in music from trailers, it usually fails at telling me enemy placement based on sound. When it has good mids, it tends to fail in the bass department (etc).
The LCD-1 does everything "well". Id prefer the LCD-2, but my neck disagrees.

I have a pair of award winning Sennheiser HD 580´s that I love, and use all the time for mixing and mastering. I also have a pair of Beyer-Dynamic DT 880 Pro, which sound good, but add some highs. They´re not as exact as the HD-580´s. I´ve read several reviews on the Audeze LCD-2 C, but they weren´t great. This guy here recommended the LCD-X. I guess I´ll just have to try them, and see what sounds best to me.

Thank you a lot. After your videos i really want to buy this headphones. My budget is this and i want the maximum quality for my mix. That peak worried me a little, you can tell me at what frequency it was.
The only model with which i am undecuded only are the Ollo s4x. Frequency responce is really flat, but both headphones i have never tried. Can you tell me what you think and wich one do you racommend ?
I hope you have also tried the Ollo for give me an answer. Thak you again. I wait you :))

Isn't the Hifiman Sundara better than both of these, and cheaper than the LCD-1? ._.
Bettter sound profile, and the membrane is 80% thinner, making it a super fast driver.

Very helpful, thank you. Question: I am looking for studio reference headphones with a response similar to my DynAudio MKII monitors. My Shure 940s are too trebley, and my Sennheiser 598SE is too bassy. Which of these do you think would fit what I'm looking for?

    Great review thanks!
I would love your help in this please!
    The same battle but cheaper:
    Hd58x vs HE4xx/HE400i
*Also the Monolith M1060 which have bigger planar driver if you heard them
*I will be using Sonarworks/Morphit average profile for either one, I'll check which suits better
    Thanks

The 600 is a lot more neutral than the rather sweet sounding 650 and thus the one of them most used in professional applications.

    • @ucproductions1491
      @ucproductions1491 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Please stop these myths. The 650 is the most neutral headphone ever made, you can fact check this in many articles with real frequency response measures, such us the sonarworks review. You can even check the corrections from Acustica Audio Sienna and Sonarworks SoundID reference, HD650 is the less corrected headphone. The 650 is sweeter because the 600 is harsh, thus not a 650 fault but a HD600 fault.
