Agreed. Fundamentals is important. We heard and experienced old school training, where teachers, Guro's and Grandmasters throw everything at you without showing basics. Luckily we were able to pick up based on our previous martial arts background. But to a complete beginner, they're totally overwhelmed.
Great breakdown of fundamentals. At comes down to the basics in defense and offense. Footwork is key to everything. Especially in weapons training.
