I just laugh when people pity me. I don't want to waste precious energy getting angry due to people's responses to disability. lol How do you cope with buses when you use your manual or mobility scooter? I find older people on scooters can be grumpy as they are old and disabled and think they have a right to things over the younger disabled.
I think part of my frustration is that I'm annoyed with myself for not having a suitable response to people's. Something I need to work on. I've only tried a bus in London with my mobility scooter and it was fine. Areas vary as to whether they'll allow them on the busses though. I've had various experiences with a folding and rigid manual chair. Some good, some less so. London seems to be the best area I've been in terms of using busses with a wheelchair/mobility scooter. I haven't use the busses locally because the trains got to the places I want and the fair is cheaper. Xx

With lifts my advice is push your way in lol I give them no choice. I block door so it won't shut if I have too.
Bus drivers here make buggies move
I've tried pushing my way in to keep the doors from closing on me and ended up getting hurt. :(
