The discomfort thing. Like I’m a freshman at college this year and I know NO ONE at my school as I’m 12 hours away from home. But you know what? By pushing myself out of my comfort zone, I have friends. I worked hard during finals and finished with all As. I joined a club. Like you just gotta do it. It know it’s terrifying. I know you’re scared as fuck. But once you take the leap of faith and trust yourself, you will see amazing growth. Like I still get super anxious all the time, but o also have more confidence saying “maybe I actually am good enough” and I think that’s enough for me. I know the process of changing a mindset is so hard because it’s comfortable staying in a destructive mindset. You know what to expect. With change, comes uncertainty. But to live free, you must embrace uncertainty.
Thank you for sharing your growth! I need to follow suit, I moved to a new city and have yet to make any friends or try to. Scared of the awkwardness aka discomfort that comes with meeting people -- but like you said, we just gotta do it. Thank you for inspiring me!
I love this comment!! pushing yourself to put yourself out there and out of your comfort zone is a really hard thing to do, thank you for sharing this!!
0:36 Yes! There's so much to appreciate about Alivia's work, including this: "If you don't have a place to run, run in place." I laughed out loud hearing it but it makes so much sense! 😂
"Because if I'm not a good dancer, I can change and be a good dancer" that is something I really need to work on. I always stop doing things since I'm not good at it right away
Not sure why, but seeing someone else, especially just an average person rather than a fitness guru, exercise makes me motivated to exercise. I think it's the mentality of "if they can do it, I can do too"

You stop when you’re tired so that you can stay healthy, not fall into an obsessive negative relationship when working out, and build strength through recovery. Stop when you can’t do it anymore, don’t push against a certain limit just so that you can “finish” something.

I'm literally maintaining a diary for a mental and physical glow up. Go for it!!! The best part is that you won't have to think about other's opinions in your space, it's just YOU.
“You only think you’re a certain way because you have evidence of it. When you step outside of your comfort zone, you are creating a new story about yourself to believe in.” I love this Alivia!!
Mental Health: Striving to be happy, self-confident, self- awake, and resilient. People who are emotionally healthy are able to cope with life’s challenges and recover from setbacks.
I agree! Though also I wouldn't say the goal is to be happy - rather accepting your emotions as they are and accepting that sometimes things don't go your way (which leads to more happiness in the end since you're not dwelling on negative emotions)
bullshit, that will only fuck you up. you can considerate yourself tough, stronger, whatever today but when you have a relapse, it’ll be the worst day of your life. please guys, build a health relationship with your body and mind 🥰❤️🕊
@@xxSimpleCxx my english was so bad at that time lmao. anyways, what i meant to say was that in the moment the video was released she felt tougher and mentally stronger but in the moment she relapsed, gain weight or whatever, she would feel like the worst person ever, because she was pushing herself too hard and beating herself up to achieve a goal, her mindset was the least healthy ever to the point it was scary to me. the whole time in the video i was thinking “what the hell does this girl is talking about, things aren’t done that way, she’ll eventually burnout, i can see it coming, nobody should treat themselves like this, that’s such a nonsense”
@@emillyazevedo1669 Yup, ese mindset puede funcionar de vez en cuando para ciertos acontecimientos, como prepararse para un examen importante, pero a la larga es imposible mantenerlo. I’m glad she found something that works for her. Personally, every time I go full out and work out like crazy like that, I spiral as soon as I get discouraged. For me, starting slow has saved me. Doing little things and being proud of those things makes me want to do more. I’m happy and getting stronger every day
Cos my mental health was all over the f*cking place, I started real small. I found something somewhere on the internet that said "Doing something half-assed is better than not doing it at all". So I started with making a list of each exercise I wanted to do, then I did one of each of these everyday. Then I increased it to two. Then three. This approach also helped me in many other areas, and if I fall into a slump again, I start from the beginning, and then I gain control over my life again, slowly. Works really well. Hehe.
UPDATE 15TH APRIL A message to the viewers so you can better understand me and the delays of this film: 1. I am a creator who just about a month ago healed my toxic patterns with content creation that began in 2018 when I started the glow up diaries. Last year I announced that I would release a film as the final piece for the glow up diaries. I loved the idea of a final video telling my full story from start to finish. But I had two battles at that time that I was unaware of. The first battle was that I could not figure out what the message of this film was. I wrote hundreds of pages and it was just a giant mess. I was so frustrated and didn't know why I struggled to see what the message of my film was. I now see that I was not ready to tell my story at that time because I had not discovered many of the solutions to my problems yet. It was like I had only lived through 70% of my story. In order for my story to make sense - I had to have answers and those answers were in the last 25% of my story. The second battle was my toxic relationship with content creation. I was feeling pressure from viewers and others to release this so I'd give a date. And I'd tell myself that I would somehow make it work and release the film. I thought somehow external pressure would help but it did not. It backfired and only made activated my old toxic pattern of avoidance. I'm not going to get into the details of this toxic relationship and why it held me back so much. But what you should know is that I have experienced massive healing with being a TH-camr. Making videos became trauma of it's own for me and it's something I had to overcome. I am deeply sorry for everyone that I have let down. I am sorry that my toxic patterns affected you guys in negative way. Remember the glow up diaries isn't a tv show. It's my real life and it's a amateur 22 year old girl producing this whole thing. I had no idea going into this how I'd end up on a toxic glow up journey and then having to become aware of my toxic ways, heal from that and then understand my healing so clearly that i can make a film that connects all the broken pieces scattered throughout these last 5 years I will end with this 1. I am excited to discover my potential as a content creator and what more I can create and upload in a timely manner now that I have healed 2. Current status update: I am almost halfway through with the film 3. The film won't be 20minutes long. The reason why I considered 20min was because someone whose option I value pointed out a short attention span of people however then I decided that 20min was too short. It will be 25-30min Lastly thanks for those who have left comments this past year. It has played a big role in my healing process. Thank u for the few people who still care about Glow up diares. I've been told by many people online and in my life how I'm irrelevant at this point cuz I haven't posted in 2 years Ik that but relevancy was never my goal. My goal was always impact and it comes through high quality content. I'm glad I waited cuz now I can release a film with answers i believe can change some lives.

This is a nice platitude but sometimes you need to listen to your body. Especially when exercising. Sometimes if you don't listen to your body and push yourself too hard, that's when you get injuries. It's a balancing act.
@@jarjardaze2485 Exactly! Your body will have no energy for building muscle if it's busy repairing injuries all the time. Or just exhausted and conserving energy because you've pushed it too far. If you don't respect your body first and foremost, you won't get positive results.
I'm almost in tears, seriously. No one really tells you that you can actually change your set point weight, no one tells you you the friggin' importance of a healthy mindset. Thank you, Alivia, for showing me that there is hope when you believe in yourself.
Can we please talk about it that even though she is "falling" multiple times, she stands up over and over again and she is so real in front of the camera (like honestly I wouldn't be able to do that) Alivia please let no one take that from anyone!!!
I really wish people could understand that this isn't a step by step guide, it's literally a diary. What worked and didn't work for her, on a delay of over a year! She isn't telling people to go out and train with a celebrity trainer, she is sharing an experience she was lucky to receive. Was she just supposed to leave that part out and let everyone believe that her results came from false sources? Why is her journey suddenly invalid because she is in a place of privilege, which she has never kept secret? You all were complaining last episode about how the glow up diaries has become just about food but this episode hardly mentioned food or really weight loss at all, and now everyone is mad that she's not addressing all the upset last week, even though it's very likely that these are edited and scheduled in a way that doesn't allow for last minute changes or additions. Not to mention that, whether you like or agree with what she said, she did post a separate video addressing last week so what else was she supposed to do? I'm not saying that her relationship with food isn't concerning, but while she gives tips and advice based on what does and doesn't work for her never does she say that this is a step by step guide for people to follow and duplicate. She's still very young and when you have such a rough relationship with food like alivia (and I personally do think she struggles with an ed, but I'm not her or her doctor so it's not my place to say with any certainty) you tend to latch on to any kind of program or lifestyle that makes you feel less out of control. She mentioned talking to a specialist in her apology (I think in the video but it may have been the community post?) So I'm hoping that she is getting help from a professional. Really I just want to know why her struggle is only inspiring when it fits the soft and fluffy narrative of learning to love yourself, but when she shows the very real process, which is not fluffy or soft, and includes a lot of self hatred, misinformation that we've all been fed at one point, and slipping up, suddenly she's a dangerous threat to any children and ed sufferers who may watch her content to trigger themselves (Noah fence but if im gonna trigger myself I'm gonna watch a mukbang compilation or anything from TLC). You can't praise her for being real and raw with showing her full journey but then get upset and angry when her life doesn't go the way you want it to, as quickly as you want it to. If you want a cut and dry, clearly faked glow up, go watch any of the hundreds that are out there acting like lemon water and waking up at 5am was all it took to completely change their lives and it was the easiest thing in the world. Because clearly the novelty of her realism has worn off for a lot of you.
People are never happy. They have to find something to bitch about. I watched Episode 1 and ordered the book. She is an inspiration and people might just learn something from her.
I totally agree with all you said. I’m GLAD she shows all the hardships and everything that comes with it. Because it reminds me, how deep you may fall just get up and tell yourself you CAN and it WILL get better. I relate to this series so much, and it inspires me so deeply to persevere and find the healthy ways that keep me alive and thriving and make me feel better about myself. So yes exactly, we do met get to pick and choose what parts of her to love. She is out here doing stuff most people would not have the guts for, and she is a queen for being so honest and insightful.
I always come back to this video when I am feeling low. This video gives me strength and hope. It motivates me. It makes me want to continue. I can’t thank you enough for this. When I need a push in the right direction and a mindset change, then I watch this.
I've always been scared of what other people think of me, my image: socially, physically and mentally. But I'm sick of being stuck in this miserable cycle of 'I shouldn't do this thing because what will others think of me' or worse 'I'm expected to do this thing because society tells me I should'. I'm done with pleasing others. The only path to true happiness is if I feel happy with my own actions, my own thoughts and I STOP pandering to others. And these are all within my control! This is what I needed going into February Alivia, I'm so grateful for you and your videos, they resonate with me so much!
Just remember, whenever you feel like worrying about what others think of you, that you are in control of your reaction to what they think of you. So if they think negative thoughts towards you, or talk down to you, you can’t control what they think or say. But you can control how you react to what they are thinking/saying about you. I love to look at them with compassion, give them a big smile, and remember that they are human too. Even the ones who judge others make mistakes of their own, and feel self conscious sometimes.
i really like this video's message much more than the last one! Like many others, I was really worried where the series was heading but I somehow knew that this episode was going to go more into the mental side of things rather than just the aesthetics. Even though I know she put so much more cinematographically speaking into the previous video, I much prefer this style - it's just so much more "unapologetically Alivia"
The Glow Up Diaries was SCRIPTED. She planned the whole thing. It's just like acting in a series. She was skinny before, got fat, ugly or whatever. Filmed it, edited it and made it somewhat emotional for young girls. There was no glow up. The purpose of this series was not help or inspire people. She did all these just to EARN MONEY. JUST that. Yes it should be on Netflix because it's all acting 🥱. Relatable queen my f o o t. It was just a sad soap opera. Every episode was negative and destructive. It didn't teach anything. It was just "The Struggle Diaries" NOT the "Glow the f up" diaries. The title is misleading. The series is COMPLETELY misleading.
"find a way to make it work" "there is always a way" "confidence shouldnt be when you look a certain way" "you are not bound to an identity" "the past does not equal the future" the fact that this was only the INTRO
Alivia makes me feel a thing she makes me feel proud of myself and she makes me feel empowered . She's the source of my confidence . she's such a role model . she shows how even the toughest person can sometimes break down , it might take a break , or a cry but a tough person always gets back up and starts their journey again . so hey if anyone is reading this just remember you're tougher than your problems.

There are no problems in life, it’s just a situation waiting for it’s time to fall into place. It’s our mind that makes a problem out of it, because we are resisting and want that situation to fall into place right now. So the key to overcome this is to live in the now, the present. And this is something you have to train, because your mind will always try avoid the now.
I think the mental glow up is what a lot of us have followed the Glow Up Series for, a body “glow up” is just a wonderful side effect of building a healthy relationship with food, exercise, yourself, your body, etc ❤️❤️❤️
I came for the desire to change my body, even though it does not need to change. I stayed for the mental glow up, as I find that more important than the physical one.
This video really helped me. 1.the mindest thing with "you did it once you can do it again" is something I've never heard before & a huge game changer for me 2.I love how you show how you suffered & cried. Often you see people not struggling at all when doing something like this and that always made me think that I couldn't get to where I want anyway. It's really great to hear & see that it's okay, no that you HAVE to suffer in order to get to the next level. One key moment that stuck to my brain was how you told yourself that you are going to run up that hill. I was jogging today and wanted to give up but the I remembered that and pushed myself harder. Really a great motivation & inspiration. Thank you
Honestly, she's one of the realest person I follow. She's transparent. Unlike other youtubers who shows us the image they want to portray. She's so inspiring and I'm loving her!
Swear to God, my whole life I've been complaining about not having a friend to motivate me for doing my best and now I realised. You've been here always for me.
Friends can come and go, as can anyone in life. You need to learn to rely on and motivate yourself, to build yourself up, because even when there are others around you to do that, it doesn’t mean they’ll always be there. You are the only constant in your own life, so be your own best friend. 💛
THANK YOU, someone finally said this. Yes it's good to step out of your comfort zone and grow, and most people really need to do that more, BUT if your body is saying no, then no. If you need an occasional break then take it. It is toxic to call that a weakness and beat yourself up for it. Constantly being in pain and in discomfort is not healthy, and not sustainable for most out there, especially long term (which is what we should be striving for, long term healthy lifestyle). The part you should work on is not being outside of your comfort zone purely, it's finding a good balance between being in and out of it.
@@anonymous4244Wheres your vid or book about it? She’s sharing a solution that worked for her. That snapped her out of a cyclic mentality. It has to be drastic to work. Lots of critique and no solutions.

The gym changed me and together with a therapist I could realize how much I was setting myself back in life. I want so many things, and for the first time, I can actually go out there to do them. Recognize the patterns that are setting yourself back.
I was a super sensitive kid growing up as well and didn’t participate in sports or anything physical. Always weak and meek. When I got to college I started running and lifting and those made me more confident in other aspects of my life as well. Exercise does wonders for the mind. :)
@@shamanlilac260 absolutely! I started working out my last year of high school so I went into university with a new mindset and newly gained confidence. As someone who worked their ass of working 2 part-time jobs and going to university I can say that pushing yourself is nice and all but listen to your body or else you might spend a year in the hospital recovering from stress related issues. No fun, trust me.
Absolutely- that is how burnout and chronic fatigue happens and it is not fun!! Definitely important to keep fit and healthy, but equally important to listen to your body
U have to listen to your body, but not keeping in a comfort zone forever. u know what I mean? Always be careful with what you're doing but push to the limit. Sorry if I say something wrong english is not my birth language 👉🏽👈🏽
Well... honestly: this was my FAVORITE episode of glow up diaries season 2 since! :) I love all of Alivia's content, but somehow this video was super super motivating and uplifting, thank you!!
For those who need this: Discomfort isn't ALWAYS a method of growth. If your friends, SO, or anything close to you make you feel uncomfortable that is not okay. That isn't a method of growth. That is a crappy support circle. If you're in constant pain after working out or eating stuff, remember to check if it's your form causing the pain (or maybe an allergy if it's food based). Doing thinks you find hard can help you grow as a person, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a comfort zone and making people respect it. Maybe the hard thing is to stop saying it's 'okay' when it isn't. (I know that's not what Alivia is saying in the video, but I just wanted to put that out here bc I know me 5 years ago probably needed to hear it)
Here’s my list of 7 tasks that make me uncomfortable: 1- running- I was a runner and did a half marathon in first lock down and i find it so hard to get out in the winter now 2- cold shower - I don’t want to do this one but it’s something I find SO HARD 3- stretching splits- I always pussy out cos it hurts 4- practising violin - I stopped playing a couple years ago and I’ve been telling myself I want to carry on and never have 5- not checking my phone until at least after I’m up and had breakfast 6- not smoking- something I need to change! 7- being kind to myself and my body :)
While it’s important to push yourself to build discipline, you have to listen to your body during fitness otherwise you will end up with an injury. I started running and with this same mindset ended up messing my foot up so bad I now can’t run for 3 months and have $400 of physio bills. It’s not so bad because I’m in Canada, but I can only imagine how expensive X-rays, physio, and medication would be if I lived in the US. Just be careful and if something hurts it’s better to stop and continue another day.
Yeah, I feel like she’s really encouraging people to ignore their body. It’s not bad to stop, if that is what your body is telling you, because it’s on your side most of the time. When she ran up the hill and was so tired and then did it again, I was so worried.
@@gcool6707 Exactly. Pushing your limits is good, and I like the "push past your 40%" mentality. But pushing yourself until you puke or are in pain (and not just sore) can be harmful. "Pain is just weakness leaving your body" ... no, that's discomfort. Pain, actual pain, is a warning. To quote an article: "'Nausea is a warning sign,' says Anthony Wall, director of professional education at the American Council on Exercise. 'There are a few things that can cause nausea during a workout. One is a full stomach, which isn’t much of a cause for worry. Another is dehydration, when an imbalance of the body’s electrolytes can cause vomiting. [...] The risk for vomiting from extreme exercise, specifically, comes from working so intensely that the body can’t get enough oxygen to fuel its muscles, leading to a build-up of the waste product lactate. [...] Nausea can also, in rarer cases, be a symptom of rhabdomyolysis-in which damaged muscles break down, and their protein enters the bloodstream." So if the goal is to be healthy, then doing something that potentially damages your body isn't something to wear like a badge of pride. And to quote a different article, "No one wants to walk through (or smell) your rancid vomit." That being said, I'm all for healthy ways of pushing our limits.

I think a lot of her tips are super helpful and her mindset is a goal mindset, but she went 100% from day 1 and unfortunately a lot of us can do day 1 but be too sore on day 2 and end up giving up super early. The key is to take her tips and mindset and apply it in small amounts at first and develop some habits slowly. Consistency is WAY more important than amount of effort. As long as you keep going, you can expect things to get easier as time goes on
But its not like its stopping you from doing it again? Yes maybe because its discomfort then your MIND tells you to not go there again BUT ITS ALL ABOUT MINDSETTTTT
You know how I know that even in her lowest moments she still had hope she was gonna achieve her body/mind goals? Because she kept filming, If she lost hope she would have stoped, but she knew that one day she WILL use all of this footage because she WILL achieve her goals and be able to make this series. It's awesome to see how much hope and will she had even in her darkest moments when it seemed like it was gone. proud of her :)

@@amiramiller-muro8579 i wish i did, but i don't think she's gotten to the specifics yet. but i'll quote what she said on her twitter post so you know "I want to release a book after Glow up Diaires season 2 is over. Glow up diaries OG and revisit have been the most inspiring and encouraging series I've watched. Seeing you overcome your struggles and fight your sugar demons is empowering. I still go back and watch them when I need to motivate myself. Thank you for sharing this part of yourself ❤

Edit: I’m so confused it’s been a day and I have this many likes? Ty
The world needs this series, Alivia. You are truly inspiring. I see you’ve received mixed reviews on these videos but I truly applaud you for your vulnerability. It’s amazing to see the internal transformation.
I’m glad to run into her channel as I am going through a depression/ getting back in shape after 2 long years of letting myself go. I’m waiting for her update… I hope she’s doing well ❤
I used to be a gymnast... never Olympic level, but I was 11 years old (in level 7) and crying basically every night because the sport hurt me, my coaches' words hurt me, my teammates' words hurt me, and my parents' words hurt me. I found you about a year ago and you've really inspired me to get up after falling off the uneven bars :) ...and I ended up winning the last meet of my competition season. 💪
Some of my favourites: "Tough people are not built in easy situations" "You don't stop when you're tired, you stop when you're done" "It's easier doing it when you want to do it (when you start) but when it really counts is when you want to give up." In my opinion the most inspirational video 🌆🪐
These video's are honestly changing my life and helping me overcome my sugar addiction. I never admitted that I had a problem with sugar, but after seeing your vulnerability and your struggle....I admitted it out loud to my husband and it felt so freeing.
Would love to see a what I eat in a day video. You could also do one comparing or showing clips of what you were eating during your glow up and what you're eating now. Would be interesting to see how your food choices changed over time
First thing I'm doing that makes me uncomfortable: commenting on TH-cam. I never do it, but here I go!Your nephew has grown so much since season 1! So cute! Thank you for your videos Alivia they have helped me so much! I'm also so grateful that you keep posting and aren't letting all the negativity stop you!! I actually bought Can't Hurt Me today and I had a stranger stop me while I was contemplating getting it and they told me how great it was and to not hesitate to get it. I took it as a sign and got it 😊 Also! Could you please do a video of what you eat in a day?
👏👏👏 I admire you for pushing out of your comfort zone by commenting on this video. It can be so tough sometimes, but worth it to put yourself out there.
OMG I THOUGHT I WAS STUPID FOR HAVING THAT INSECURITY!!! Like I comment on videos now but even now I re read it and ask myself if I should or not multiple times, and often times I just don't but I'm going to be more confident with what I have to say even if it sounds stupid in my head; also I'm so proud of you for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone( ◜‿◝ )♡

Doing hard things can make you tough. Also: being gentle with yourself also makes you tough. Pushing through EVERYTHING in life is equally as damaging and traumatising
Yeah I cant push myself too hard at the start of getting in shape bc of asthma. Also I overworked my legs too hard one time and got shin splints.. ouch
That's right .. always pushing urself for doing up hard things ..can shatter your and make you think negative and demotivated ..u should not always harsh on urself.Understand ur self just like u understand someone who u love 💕
It’s the fact that even on her saddest moments .. she tried even harder than her last action it’s amazing how she might be inspiring people! I love you and your channel x
I feel like she isn’t saying that being skinny is the most important thing like everyone keeps commenting. I think she’s just trying to say getting better mentally as well as physically is the most important no matter if you’re skinny or not
You just don’t understand the power of mental toughness because you’re to scared to give up your weak mentality. Alivia is conquering herself more than 99% of people end up doing in their lifetime
TW: ED⚠️i love to see her videos because ive seen so many videos about people with anorexia or bulima or not eating but i haven’t seen people with over eating or having a hard time to control yourself with food it’s easier for me to see her overcome this because it makes me think how i can do the same thing n hopefully someday i will be happy with myself and how i look and how i feel about myself because i know i can do it.

Hehe.
Same! Its easier for me to stick with it if i do it every day which means i cant go all out or else i'll be too sore the next day to do anything

UPDATE 15TH APRIL
A message to the viewers so you can better understand me and the delays of this film:
I'm not going to get into the details of this
toxic relationship and why it held me back so much.
I had no idea going into this how I'd end up on a toxic glow up journey and then having to become aware of my toxic ways, heal from that and then understand my healing so clearly that i can make a film that connects all the broken pieces scattered throughout these last 5 years
I will end with this
1. I am excited to discover my potential as a content creator and what more I can create
and upload in a timely manner now that I have healed
2. Current status update: I am almost halfway through with the film
3. The film won't be 20minutes long. The reason why I considered 20min was because someone whose option I value pointed out a short attention span of people however then I decided that 20min was too short.
It will be 25-30min
Lastly thanks for those who have left comments this past year. It has played a big role in my healing process.
Thank u for the few people who still care about Glow up diares. I've been told by many people online and in my life how I'm irrelevant at this point cuz I haven't posted in 2 years
Ik that but relevancy was never my goal.
My goal was always impact and it comes through high quality content.
I'm glad I waited cuz now I can release a film with answers i believe can change some lives.

True!
This is a nice platitude but sometimes you need to listen to your body. Especially when exercising. Sometimes if you don't listen to your body and push yourself too hard, that's when you get injuries. It's a balancing act.
You need to listen to your body first. Stop when you're tired, rest' then continue. Pushing your body more than it can take isn't healthy.
@@jarjardaze2485 Exactly! Your body will have no energy for building muscle if it's busy repairing injuries all the time. Or just exhausted and conserving energy because you've pushed it too far. If you don't respect your body first and foremost, you won't get positive results.
@@jarjardaze2485 good point!
I'm almost in tears, seriously. No one really tells you that you can actually change your set point weight, no one tells you you the friggin' importance of a healthy mindset. Thank you, Alivia, for showing me that there is hope when you believe in yourself.
Can we please talk about it that even though she is "falling" multiple times, she stands up over and over again and she is so real in front of the camera (like honestly I wouldn't be able to do that) Alivia please let no one take that from anyone!!!
yessss

I can‘t believe that the girl who taught me how to do the splits back in the day is now teaching me how to love my body and work on my mindset
We love seeing the growth !!!

i really like this video's message much more than the last one! Like many others, I was really worried where the series was heading but I somehow knew that this episode was going to go more into the mental side of things rather than just the aesthetics. Even though I know she put so much more cinematographically speaking into the previous video, I much prefer this style - it's just so much more "unapologetically Alivia"
If this never gets to be a Netflix documentary, I’m raging. ✌️😩

It didn't. I'M RAGING
Netflix doesn't deserve her tho!!!
She can also do the scripts by herself. This kid must have read a lot, I can feel that.

Agree! Glowing up needs to start from within.
I came for the desire to change my body, even though it does not need to change.
I stayed for the mental glow up, as I find that more important than the physical one.

1.the mindest thing with "you did it once you can do it again" is something I've never heard before & a huge game changer for me
2.I love how you show how you suffered & cried.
Thank you

Omggggg!
oh my hi!
Helloooo! Love your videos ♥
Omg it’s official she has made it I thought she was amazing before this but now no one can change my mind the queen 👸 has spoken.
Swear to God, my whole life I've been complaining about not having a friend to motivate me for doing my best and now I realised. You've been here always for me.
Don't depend on others to motivate you. Motivate yourself, cause at the end of the day you are the only one who is really there for yourself
Friends can come and go, as can anyone in life. You need to learn to rely on and motivate yourself, to build yourself up, because even when there are others around you to do that, it doesn’t mean they’ll always be there. You are the only constant in your own life, so be your own best friend. 💛
If you’re uncomfortable to the point where your body is telling you to stop and take it easy, that’s your turn to listen.
When you started talking about how what others think doesn´t matter, girl, that empowered me so much.
I'm an only child, sensitive, anxiety since kindergarten - I've lived my life to avoid everything that could be uncomfortable for me. The gym changed me and together with a therapist I could realize how much I was setting myself back in life. I want so many things, and for the first time, I can actually go out there to do them. Recognize the patterns that are setting yourself back.
That's so great ! Proud of you 💙
YES! Same
I was a super sensitive kid growing up as well and didn’t participate in sports or anything physical. Always weak and meek. When I got to college I started running and lifting and those made me more confident in other aspects of my life as well. Exercise does wonders for the mind. :)

As someone who worked their ass of working 2 part-time jobs and going to university I can say that pushing yourself is nice and all but listen to your body or else you might spend a year in the hospital recovering from stress related issues.
No fun, trust me.
facts
Absolutely- that is how burnout and chronic fatigue happens and it is not fun!! Definitely important to keep fit and healthy, but equally important to listen to your body
U have to listen to your body, but not keeping in a comfort zone forever. u know what I mean? Always be careful with what you're doing but push to the limit.
Sorry if I say something wrong english is not my birth language 👉🏽👈🏽
Yeah I‘m gonna be discussing this in therapy 😂🙈
Thanks for this comment! Need it for before I make the decision to do the same
I love how she documented how she trained her mind as well. I was just having a hard week feeling disappointed over my progress.
Well... honestly: this was my FAVORITE episode of glow up diaries season 2 since!
(I know that's not what Alivia is saying in the video, but I just wanted to put that out here bc I know me 5 years ago probably needed to hear it)
Thank you for this
Yes. Context is everything

Here’s my list of 7 tasks that make me uncomfortable:
1- running- I was a runner and did a half marathon in first lock down and i find it so hard to get out in the winter now
2- cold shower - I don’t want to do this one but it’s something I find SO HARD
3- stretching splits- I always pussy out cos it hurts
4- practising violin - I stopped playing a couple years ago and I’ve been telling myself I want to carry on and never have
5- not checking my phone until at least after I’m up and had breakfast
6- not smoking- something I need to change!
7- being kind to myself and my body :)

this is insane how you're helping so many people. i don't know how to thank you
While it’s important to push yourself to build discipline, you have to listen to your body during fitness otherwise you will end up with an injury.
Same, except knee pain. And since I live in the U.S., my ten-minute chat with the orthopedist cost ~$350 (before insurance, $200+ deductible).
yes very important! push your body but always exercise intuitively- especially as a beginner! xx
same. i ran for like an hour off the bat on like 10 speed for 3 weeks and then couldn’t run for months cause of injury and i’m literally scared now🥲
Yeah, I feel like she’s really encouraging people to ignore their body.
To quote an article:
"'Nausea is a warning sign,' says Anthony Wall, director of professional education at the American Council on Exercise. [...] Nausea can also, in rarer cases, be a symptom of rhabdomyolysis-in which damaged muscles break down, and their protein enters the bloodstream."
So if the goal is to be healthy, then doing something that potentially damages your body isn't something to wear like a badge of pride. And to quote a different article, "No one wants to walk through (or smell) your rancid vomit." That being said, I'm all for healthy ways of pushing our limits.
I learned the exact opposite the last years: if you go too hard on yourself, especially the first day you will not do it again or even hurt you.
yes , your mind connects bad emotions
It is, people has been saying I am too harsh on myself and overthink stuff a lot. I learned to take it easy and it's okay to take a break
@@kumarules118 yeah if you're harsh and have unrealistic expectations. You can't make yourself to get straight As, or study 10hours a day. But what you can do is make yourself do your best.
Luv and luve :)
